This study is to evaluate the economies of scale of the public libraries in metropolitan cities. The results of the regression analysis confirm that for all samples of libraries there is diseconomies of scale in library operations (${\Sigma}b_{n}$≒6.14∼10.91). Therefore, all the types of public libraries should be improve productivity by user-based collection development, increasing circulation turnover rate, activation of in-library use, strengthening mobile library services, rational planning of services area, development of reading programs connected with the curriculum, a new branch library plans, etc.

The purpose of the study is to identify the perception of the Library and Information Science (LIS) specialists about the use of mobile phones in retrieving information. It investigates the present status of the LIS specialists regarding mobile phone usage, perceptions regarding the use of mobile phones in retrieving information from libraries and points out the possible drawbacks and their solutions for embracing mobile phones in retrieving information from libraries and providing some suggestions. The methodology includes a quantitative approach. The authors used a survey method using a structured questionnaire to measure the perception of LIS specialists regarding the use of mobile phones in retrieving information from libraries. The findings confirmed that the majority (72%) of LIS specialists have the experience of using mobile phones for more than 10 years. Findings also indicate that the LIS specialists have agreed with the statements of advantages of using mobile phones. This paper concludes that the respondents also agreed regarding the possible advantages of introducing mobile phones in retrieving information from libraries. The paper explores the original perceptions of LIS specialists regarding the use of mobile phones in retrieving information from libraries.

본 연구는 공공도서관 모바일 웹의 접근성 현황을 파악하고 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 모바일 앱과 웹 지침에 따라 접근성 체크리스트를 도출하고, 자동평가와 수동평가를 통해 접근성 현황을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 대체텍스트는 검색결과 도서 이미지 안내, 메인메뉴, 텍스트 대신 이미지 제공에서 가장 많이 미준수 현황을 보였으며, 초점은 검색 및 검색결과에서, 운영체제 접근성은 검색어 입력창 레이블 및 아이디, 패스워드 입력창에서, 색에 무관한 인식은 좌석현황 및 도서관일정, 명도대비는 메인메뉴 및 서지사항에서, 컨트롤 간 충분한 간격은 자료검색 필드 간 간격 및 메인검색창에서 미준수 현황이 주로 나타났다. 이와 함께 연구결과로 모바일 도서관 주요 서비스별로 정리하여, 향후 도서관 모바일 웹 서비스 구축에 활용하고자 하였다.

공공도서관에서 제공하는 향토정보서비스는 낮은 이용률을 나타내고 있으며, 대부분 열람 및 대출형태의 제한적인 서비스를 제공한다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제점을 해결하고 이용자의 정보 요구를 반영하는 새로운 향토정보서비스를 제안하고자, 모바일 어플리케이션 (이하 앱)인 LibPass (Library와 Pass의 합성어)를 개발하였다. LibPass는 향토자원의 특성들이 LibPass의 콘텐츠로 구성되어 이용자가 모바일 앱을 통해 지역의 문화관광자원에 대한 정보탐색을 한 곳에서 간편하게 할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 즉, 관광자원에 대한 소개는 물론이고, 그 이용을 위한 숙박시설, 체험프로그램, 그리고 특화도서관에 대한 정보를 제공함으로써, 향토자원에 대한 효율적인 정보서비스를 도모하고자 했다. 무엇보다도 이 서비스는 국립중앙도서관에서 발행하는 카드로 일원화되어 제공되므로 전국 어디서나 사용이 편리하고, 공공기관의 다양한 콘텐츠를 활용하여 신뢰성과 최신성을 확보하였다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 모바일 관광정보서비스의 품질 평가 요인들을 도출하였으며, 또한 기존의 관광정보서비스 앱을 분석하여 LibPass 앱의 개체들을 구성하고 논리적 개체 관계 모델을 기반으로 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 이 모델은 도서관의 향토정보서비스 이용률을 증가시키고, 더 나아가 이용자 친화적인 앱을 통해 도서관에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 높이는 데 기여할 수 있다.

이 논문은 서비스 품질 관점에서 도서관 모바일 서비스를 위한 평가 모형을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 기존에 연구된 도서관의 서비스 품질 평가 모형과 모바일 서비스 평가 연구에 대한 문헌 분석을 실시하였으며, 이를 토대로 도서관 모바일 서비스 품질 평가에 필요한 4개 품질 차원, 10개 품질 요인, 39개 품질 측정 항목으로 구성된 평가 모형을 개발하였다. 그리고 개발된 모형의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 델파이 기법을 적용하였으며, 최종적으로 4개 품질 차원, 9개 품질 요인, 37개 품질 측정 항목으로 구성된 모형을 도출하였다. 이 연구에서 제안하고 있는 평가 모형은 도서관의 모바일 서비스 품질 진단 도구로 사용될 수 있으며, 또한 도서관 모바일 서비스의 개선을 위한 가이드라인으로도 활용될 수 있다.

융합은 유비쿼터스 사회에서 새로운 가치창출의 원동력이 되는 핵심 메커니즘이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 도서관을 구현하고자 할 때 고려해야 할 개념 중 하나인 정보융합의 개념을 확인하고, 이를 바탕으로 유비쿼터스 도서관 환경에서의 정보융합 메커니즘을 두가지 관점, 즉 시스템-이용자간의 융합, 그리고 정보/지식간의 융합으로 나누어 살펴본 후, 도서관 환경에서 정보융합을 지원함으로써 얻을 수 있는 효과에 대해 분석하였다. 그리고 이러한 융합 메커니즘을 지원하는 기술로 이동성을 기반으로 시스템-이용자-정보간 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션을 가능하게 하는 기술인 모바일 웹 2.0을 제안하고, 유비쿼터스 도서관에서의 이용자 서비스를 위해 모바일 웹 2.0을 구성하는 세부기술의 응용 방안을 제시하였다.

For a library to be able provide information services and fulfill its function as a knowledge convergence center capable of responding to various information demands, the development of next-generation information systems based on the latest information and communication technology is needed. The development of mobile information services using portable devices such smart phones and tablet PCs and information systems which incorporate the concepts of cloud computing, SaaS (Software as a Service), annotation and Library2.0 is also required. This paper describes a library information system that utilizes collective intelligence and cloud computing. The information system developed for this study adopts the SaaS-based cloud computing service concept to cope with the shift in the mobile service paradigm in libraries and the explosion of electronic data. The strengths of such a conceptual model include the sharing of resources, support of multi-tenants, and the configuration and support of metadata. The user services are provided in the form of software on-demand. To test the performance of the developed system, the efficiency analysis and TTA certification test were conducted. The results of performance tests, It is encouraging that, at least up to 100MB, the job time is approximately linear and with only a moderate overhead of less than one second. The system also passed the level-3 or higher criteria in the certification test, which includes the SaaS maturity, performance and application program functions.

현재 많은 기업, 관공서, 교육기관들은 각각의 특성에 맞는 업무정보시스템을 구축하여 사용하고 있다. 그러나 스마트폰 및 다양한 모바일기기들의 보급으로 사용자들은 이동성을 지닌 서비스를 요구함에 따라, 최근 많은 곳에서 모바일 서비스를 제공하고 있고, 개발 중에 있다. 그러나 기존 시스템과 모바일 시스템 간 연동을 위해 따로 개발할 때 비용 및 시간, 인력의 낭비가 점점 심해지고 있다. 또한 많은 곳에서 모바일 서비스를 제공하기 위해 기존의 시스템까지 수정해야하는 문제점이 나오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해 기존 시스템과 모바일 시스템간의 연동을 위해 데이터 전송 및 가공을 위해 기존서버, 웹서비스 서버, 모바일시스템간의 라이브러리를 개발 적용해봄으로써, 모바일 웹서비스 환경에서 공통API 설계 및 구현한다.

본 연구는 유비쿼터스 도서관의 실체를 파악하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해서 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 유비쿼터스 도서관에 대한 개념적 정의와 함께 그 실태를 파악하기 위하여 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 기반한 유비쿼터스 도서관의 서비스 실태와 과제, 발전 전망 등에 대하여 논의하였다. 문헌연구와 주요 도서관의 홈페이지 내용 분석, 전문사서와의 인터뷰를 통해서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유비쿼터스 도서관은 무선통신을 이용하여 소장 자료의 검색, 대출 및 반납, 참고질의, 공지사항 등의 서비스를 제공한다. 둘째, 모바일 도서관은 구현 기술의 표준화, 서비스의 단순성, 컨텐츠와 인터페이스의 문제가 제기된다. 셋째, RFID 도서관은 도서관리 프로그램과의 연계성, 시스템의 호환성 및 표준화, 시스템 도입에 따른 도서관 서비스 방식의 변화, 정보 보안과 개인 프라이버시, 시스템 장비의 가격 등이 문제가 된다. 넷째, 유비쿼터스 도서관이 발전하기 위해서는 기술의 통합 및 표준화와 함께 정보기술 인프라와 프로세스의 발전이 이루어져야 한다. 다섯째, 유비쿼터스 도서관의 정보서비스가 성공하기 위해서는 모바일 환경과 특성에 맞는 다양한 형태의 서비스 개발과 함께 개인별 맞춤 서비스가 제공되어야 한다.
