The trend of compact size, light weight, low power consumption in the portable telecommunication equipments demands large scale integration and low voltage operation of chips and the minimization of the number of the components in the telecommunication terminal. According to the trend, existing chip components are modulized and are integrated as a part into a bigger chip. This paper is about the development of the peripheral units of micro-controller for mobile telecommunication terminal. Peripherals consist of DMA controller, Interrupt controller, timer, watchdog timer, clock generator, and power management unit. They are designed to be integrated with EU(Execution Unit) and BIU(Bus Interface Unit) into a 16 bit micro-controller which will be used as a core of an ASIC for next generation digital mobile telecommunication terminal. At first, whole block of the micro-controller was described by VHDL behavioral model and simulated to verify its overall operation. Then, watchdog timer, clock generator and power management unit were directly synthesized by using VHDL synthesis tool. Rest of the pheriperal units were designed and simulated by using Compass Design Tool.

Many construction projects involve a plethora of safety-related problems that can cause loss of productivity, diminished revenue, time overruns, and legal challenges. Incorporating data collection and analytics methods can help overcome the root causes of many such problems. However, in a dynamic construction workplace collecting data from a large number of resources is not a trivial task and can be costly, while many contractors lack the motivation to incorporate technology in their activities. In this research, an Android-based mobile application, Preemptive Construction Site Safety (PCS2) is developed and tested for real-time location tracking, trajectory prediction, and prevention of potential collisions between workers and site hazards. PCS2 uses ubiquitous mobile technology (smartphones) for positional data collection, and a robust trajectory prediction technique that couples hidden Markov model (HMM) with risk-taking behavior modeling. The effectiveness of PCS2 is evaluated in field experiments where impending collisions are predicted and safety alerts are generated with enough lead time for the user. With further improvement in interface design and underlying mathematical models, PCS2 will have practical benefits in large scale multi-agent construction worksites by significantly reducing the likelihood of proximity-related accidents between workers and equipment.

The development of systems that can generate automatically instructional material is a challenging goal for the e-learning community. These systems pave the way towards large scale e-learning deployment as they produce instruction on-demand for users requesting to learn about any topic, anywhere and anytime. However, realizing such systems is possible with the availability of vast repositories of web information in different formats that can be searched, reused and integrated into information-rich environments for interactive learning. This paradigm of learning relieves instructors from the tedious authoring task, making them focusing more on the design and quality of instruction. This paper presents a mobile learning system (Mole) that supports the generation of instructional material in M-Learning (Mobile Learning) contexts, by reusing and integrating heterogeneous hypermedia web resources. Mole uses open hypermedia repositories to build a Learning Web and to generate learning objects including various hypermedia resources that are adapted to the user context. Learning is delivered through a nice graphical user interface allowing the user to navigate conveniently while building their own learning path. A test case scenario illustrating Mole is presented along with a system evaluation which shows that in 90% of the cases Mole was able to generate learning objects that are related to the user query.

After the spread of COVID-19, the OTT market has grown rapidly. Accordingly, competition of OTT platforms has intensified. Among them, TVing provides users distinct characteristics of service, such as media and commerce, to differentiate it from other platforms. It is important to offer appropriate usability when proving combined service in one mobile application. Otherwise, it can adversely affect the user experience. In this regard, this research conducted usability testing of TVing and found out what user experience should be considered when integrating different characteristics of service in one mobile application. Through the usability testing, we measured and analyzed effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction based on the ISO usability testing guidelines. As a result, three important considerations of UX design for mobile application of combined services were found; 1) connectivity between services, 2) easy navigation, 3) consistent UI design, and 4) relations between subjects and provided information. This design consideration is expected to be applicable not only to TVing mobile application, but also to the situation where composed services are provided in one application.
A micro zoom system without moving elements by use of two liquid lenses is designed and optimized in this paper. The zoom equations of the system composed of two liquid lenses are deduced. The structure parameters including radius and thickness of a conical double-liquid electrowetting based lens are analyzed and calculated. Because the liquid thickness varies non-linearly with the radius of the interface, it's very difficult to optimize a real liquid lens using commercial optical design software directly. Through the Application Programming Interface (API) of the optical design software CODE V, a zoom system with two real electrowetting based liquid lenses is modeled and optimized. A two-liquid-lens zoom system without moving elements, with a zoom factor of 1.8 and a compact structure of 10 mm is designed for illustration. This can be useful for the camera design of mobile phones, tablets and so on. And this paper presents a convenient way of designing and optimizing a zoom system including liquid lenses by commercial optical design software.
The battery lifetime is one of the most important factors in product qualities of mobile devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, PMP. It is used to be displayed by a 'battery bar' icon with uniformly divided three or four blocks. However, several manufacturers of mobile phones have assigned uneven time ratios to each battery block because they believe that it can make users feel more long in battery lifetime. In this study, two experiments were performed. The first is to verify the effects of the uneven time ratios in each battery block on users' cognitive awareness of battery lifetime. The second is to investigate whether the compatibility between battery displays and actual time ratios affects the users' time perceptions. The results show that as low battery bar is maintained for a long time, users tend to be aware of the battery lifetime shorter. On the contrary, maintaining full battery status longer does not affect the users' time perception. These results can be applied as the guidelines for determining proper time ratios in designing the battery bar indicator of mobile devices.

In order to use the existing map data base in the mobile phone, the dynamic creation technique of the radio map which will be able to be converted into the raster image and transmitted was proposed. We transferred the client module functions such as the coordinate conversion, data compression and decoding to server, and made driving of JAVA browser in the mobile phone which has the restricted resources possible for the dynamic creation of the radio map. We made the radio electronic map service possible without map data base for the mobile phone use only by performing the general work of the map at the sever. And we guaranteed the client waiting time less then the limit time by performing the filtering work of the map at the server also. After we input the keyword at the user interface for searching the region or facility, and verified the performance of the proposed technique by confirming that the raster electronic map usable at the mobile phone was created dynamically.

The sensor network for the health care application service has the man or movable object as the main sensing object. In order to support inter-node interaction by the movement of such sensing objects, the node's dynamic function modification, dynamic self-configuration and energy efficiency must be considered. In this paper, the Agilla model which supports the dynamic function modification through the agent migration between nodes and LEACH protocol which guarantees the dynamic self-configuration and energy efficiency through the configuration of inter-node hierarchical cluster configuration are analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis, the Mobility Agent Middleware which supports the dynamic function modification between nodes is designed, and LEACH_Mobile protocol which guarantees the node nobility as the weakness of the existing LEACH protocol is suggested. Also, the routing module which supports the LEACH_Mobile protocol is designed and the interface for conjunction with Mobility Agent Middleware is designed. Then, it is definitely increase performance which un mobility node of transfer data rate through LEACH_Mobile protocol of simulation result.
Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how healthcare is delivered worldwide and has affected the environment of the healthcare. Physical therapy in traditional healthcare systems can be difficult in unusual circumstances, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Tele-physical therapy, defined as "the delivery of the physical therapy at a distance using electronic information and telecommunication technologies," will be a solution for this healthcare crisis. Thus, in this study, we proposed a mobile application for tele-physical therapy. Methods: This study used the Chrome Browser version 83.0.4 based on the Windows 10 64Bit operating system to use the App Inventor. To operate the mobile application, we used the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The design of the mobile application was based on the review of a system used in the physical therapy department. Results: The graphical user interface (GUI) of the mobile application was displayed on three screens: selecting a painful joint (1st screen of the GUI); selecting a painful movement of the joint (2nd screen of the GUI); a self-manual therapy method and movie (3rd screen of the GUI). The proposed mobile application showed the stable repeatability of the self-manual therapy movie. Conclusion: The results of this study demonstrated that the proposed mobile application using the App Inventor for android will be able to create easy to use and reliable tele-physical therapy.
The purpose of this study is to analyze personalized contents and previews of OTT service based on user experience and to suggest the improvements of the preview viewing experience. Current domestic OTT mobile applications were researched to find out how services are offering content. Plus, the 20s-30s were recruited to analyze user experience. An online survey and in-depth interview were conducted by using Stephen P. Anderson's Creating Pleasurable Interface Model. As a result, preview help users to select content but it doesn't suit their taste. Also, the preview is hard to watch however they want. Therefore, it can be inferred that the preview requires the function for improving efficiency, preference, and accessibility. This study is expected to be used as research material on user experience or preview experience of OTT content.
