  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷 기반의 이동로봇의 원격제어를 위한 시스템의 효율적인 구성을 제안하고 구현한다. 구현된 원격제어 시스템의 인터페이스로 일반적인 웹 브라우저를 사용하며, 이동로봇의 제어용 서버와 이동로봇의 감시용으로 외부에 설치된 CCD 카메라 제어용 서버의 효율적인 구성을 위해, 기존의 Unix나 PC상에서 구현되었던 제어용 서버를 내장형 웹 서버로 대체한다. 외부에 설치된 CCD 카메라의 영상은 프레임 그래버로 전송되며 전송된 영상은 Microsoft Visual C++ 프로그램 언어를 사용하여 할당된 메모리에 저장한다. 저장된 영상은 클라이언트 풀 기술(client pull technique)을 이용하여 웹 브라우저를 통해 직접 보여줌으로써 현장의 실시간 감시가 가능하도록 한다.

  • S-S-M(Server-Surrogate PC-Mobile Client)과 같은 3-계층 구조에서 이동 클라이언트를 이용한 공간 데이터 변경을 위해 대리트랜잭션 모델이 소개되었다. 이 모델에서는 이동 클라이언트의 공간 데이터변경을 위한 트랜잭션간의 동시성 제어를 위하여 전통적인 낙관적 병행 기법인 확인 기법을 확장하였다. 분산 환경에서는 참여자가 완료를 요청하면 조정자는 데이터를 공유하는 모든 참여자에게 완료 또는 취소 여부를 물어 최종 완료를 수행하였으나S-S-M 환경에서는 이동 클라이언트가 서버와의 접속을 해제하고 데이터를 변경한다. 따라서, 본 논문은 이동 클라이언트의 변경 완료 요청을 대리 PC를 통해 서버로 전달하고, 서버는 해당 트랜잭션의 충돌 여부를 검증하여 완료 또는 취소하는 완료 규약을 제시하고 이를 검증하기 위해 설계 및 구현한다.

  • 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기술이 컴퓨팅 자원의 사용 방식에 대한 새로운 패러다임을 이끌어가고 있는 가운데 이미 PC 가상화를 통한 클라우드 서비스가 선을 보이고 있다. 또한 스마트 디바이스 이용이 급증함에 따라 모바일 클라우드 서비스에도 관심이 집중되고 있으며 기존의 클라우드 서비스를 스마트 디바이스에서도 사용하는 형태의 서비스가 이미 출시되고 있다. 하지만 진정한 의미의 모바일 클라우드를 위해서는 스마트 디바이스 자원 가상화를 통한 클라우드 자원 활용의 극대화가 이루어져야 한다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 내 가상 단말에 접속하여 서비스를 받을 수 있는 실질적인 모바일 클라우드 서비스 구현을 위한 모바일 클라우드 아키텍처를 소개하고 이의 구성요소 중 하나인 모바일 클라우드 서비스 커넥터의 설계 방안을 제시하였다. 설계 시 주요 고려사항은 제한된 모바일 네트워크 환경에서 실시간 서비스를 제공하면서 보안을 강화하는 것이며 이에 대한 연구는 모바일 클라우드가 실질적인 서비스로서 자리매김하는데 필수적인 요소라 확신한다.

Monitoring System of Agriculture Fields using ZigBee Modules

  • The goal of this study is to develop experiment monitoring system of agriculture fields using ZigBee wireless modules. Soil moisture, ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure and intensity of sunlight are the most important factorsto grow a wheat crop and other vegetables. In orderto monitorthe factorssoil moisture (YL69), air pressure (BMP180), temperature (DS18B20), photoresistor were used for sensing environment data. The TI CC2530 RF SoC chip was used in the system. ZigBee modules were connected to star topology. ZigBee modules send data wirelessly to a data center. This data can be displayed and analyzed on the main monitoring program as needed also sent to the client mobile. Characteristics of the sensors were determined by experiment results.

  • Video streaming applications such as Netflix and Youtube are widely used in our daily life. A DASH based streaming client exploits adaptive bit rate (ABR) method to choose the most appropriate video source representation that the network can support. In this paper we propose a novel energy-aware ABR scheme that adds the ability to monitor energy efficiency in addition to the linear quadratic regulator algorithm we previously introduced. Our trace-driven simulation studies show that our proposed scheme mitigates and shortens re-buffering, resulting in energy savings of mobile devices while preserving the similar QoE compared to the state-of-the-art ABR algorithms.

S-MADP : Service based Development Process for Mobile Applications of Medium-Large Scale Project (S-MADP : 중대형 프로젝트의 모바일 애플리케이션을 위한 서비스 기반 개발 프로세스)

  • Innovative evolution in mobile devices along with recent spread of Tablet PCs and Smart Phones makes a new change not only in individual life but also in enterprise applications. Especially, in the case of medium-large mobile applications for large enterprises which generally takes more than 3 months of development periods, importance and complexity increase significantly. Generally Agile-methodology is used for a development process for the medium-large scale mobile applications, but some issues arise such as high dependency on skilled developers and lack of detail development directives. In this paper, S-MADP (Smart Mobile Application Development Process) is proposed to mitigate these issues. S-MADP is a service oriented development process extending a object-oriented development process, for medium-large scale mobile applications. S-MADP provides detail development directives for each activities during the entire process for defining services as server-based or client-based and providing the way of reuse of services. Also, in order to support various user interfaces, S-MADP provides detail UI development directives. To evaluate the performance of S-MADP, three mobile application development projects were conducted and the results were analyzed. The projects are 'TBS(TB Mobile Service) 3.0' in TB company, mobile app-store in TS company, and mobile groupware in TG group. As a result of the projects, S-MADP accounts for more detailed design information about 'Minimizing the use of resources', 'Service-based designing' and 'User interface optimized for mobile devices' which are needed to be largely considered for mobile application development environment when we compare with existing Agile-methodology. Therefore, it improves the usability, maintainability, efficiency of developed mobile applications. Through field tests, it is observed that S-MADP outperforms about 25% than a Agile-methodology in the aspect of the required man-month for developing a medium-large mobile application.

  • Recently, researches on various base technologies for wireless Internet services have been conducted. In the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Forum, a WAP gateway which does mutual conversion between existent wired Internet protocols and WAP protocols was proposed. In this paper, CSA(Client Side Agent) and SSA(Server Side Agent) for WAP gateway environments are designed and implemented, as a way of improving communication efficiency in such restrictive environments as wireless communications. Located on mobile WAP devices(CSA) and a WAP Gateway(SSA), the agents perform communication efficiency improvement activities such as a packet header reduction mechanism and a data reduction mechanism using data differencing analysis in order to reduce the size of data transmission in wireless communication environments. The Internet phone emulator of Phone.com is used in order to make sure that the implemented agents work correctly, Experimental results show that the implemented agents reduce the size of data transmission significantly.

  • In this paper proposes the latest network-assisted online telemedicine service to coincide with the point being discussed for health care providers to match patients, patients with personalized medical service support system. In order to design the system, to understand the requirements of the patient personalized medical support service system, the data were normalized and were designed architecture client server structure. Further, in order to implement the system that was designed to define the structure of server and client, ontology repository, we implement the system. In this paper, as a result of the test by creating a scenario and prerequisites for testing patient personalized medical service support system that is design and implementation, selecting a patient's condition, department of symptoms by the selected but it was confirmed that the inference is, inference medical institutions that fits department inferred one following upon the items medical patient has the required.

An Efficient Transmission Method of Panoramic Multimedia Contents in a Limited Bandwidth Environment (제한적 네트워크 환경 하에서 효율적인 파노라마식 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 분할 전송 방법)

  • This paper proposes an efficient transmission method for the panoramic multimedia contents. The panoramic video provides wide sight and various view-point to the user. The traditional methods of the panoramic multimedia content transmission has several limitations, as follow; A client suffers a long initial delay time to play a panoramic video when it is transmitted through a limited bandwidth network, because the panoramic video has larger data size than a general video. And if a client's display device has limited resolution, such as mobile phone, laptop PC monitor, etc. it can not display the entire panoramic video that has a wide view video sequence. So, in order to overcome the obstacles, this paper proposes an efficient transmission of panoramic multimedia contents. This method will increase the transmission efficiency throughout the technique of the scene description in MPEG-4 system. Also we demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed method by comparison with existing methods.

  • DAB(Digital Audio Broadcasting) is a new media service that can provide CD quality audio, various data service, interactive and high quality mobile communications through popular media such as terrestrial broadcasting, satellite, cable TV, and internet. In this paper, a new EPG(Electronic Program Guide) application model is proposed. The model is based on DAB and combines a DAB receiver and PCs so that it can take advantages of using various multimedia services and plenty of internet contents. The developed EPSD(EPG Provider System on DAB) has Web-based Server/Client structure and povides EPG functionalities to client PCs over internet. Therefore, the DAB receiver can be smaller and cheaper, and can develop abundant data services on internet. It can also provide high quality video services and be expected to become an important component in future home network systems.
