  • Ecological measurement and biological environment of the Moak Provicial Park surveyed based on the habitat; deciduous broad leaved forest (Quercus mongolica variabilis-Pinus densiflora, Capinus tschonoskii, Quercus Mongolica, Quercus acutissima-Pinus densiflora, and Quercus variabilis), coniferous forest (Pinus densiflora), plantation forest (Pinus rigida), and the other place (pond, lake, rice field, stream, and river). Totally, 1 orders, 4 families, 8 species of amphibians were found at Mt. Moak provincial park. Biodiversity indices of studied region were as follow; richness was 1.270, diversity was 1.775, and evenness was 0.853 in amphibians. 42.1% of amphibians were found in deciduous broad leaved forest, 11.3% in coniferous forest, 1.6% in plantation forest, and 45.0% in the other region.

  • Ordination and classification techiques were used to analyze the forest communities and to examine the integration problem of community-to-ecological species group in mt. moak provincial park of korea. phytosociological classiication based on floristic composition produced seven commuities of zelkova serrata, carpinus densiflora. These seven communities were well discriminated in the two-dimensional analyses of soil moisture, soil organic matter content and temperature(elevation), eciprocally, and in three-dimensional space of the three environmental factors also. They corresponded to seven ecological groups derived from the distribution pattern analysis of species populations in this mountain.

  • The environmental gradient analyses were applied for the distribution patterns of species populations in mt. moak provincial park in korea. The species populations were sequentially ordered along the environmental gradients such as soil moisture, soil ph, soil organic matter content and elevation and were grouped into seven ecological groups by the two-dimensional analyses of temperature-moisture gradient : zelkova serrata group on mesic-lower parts near the streames and well drained stony slopes, carpinus tschonoskii group on mesic-middle parts, quercus acutissima group on lower parts destroyed by human activities, quercus variabilis group on xeric-middle parts, quercus serrata group on xeric-upper middle parts, quercus mongolica group on xeric-upper parts and pinus densiflora group on xeric-rock ridge lines, hillocks and lower parts interfered by human. Four forest vegetation types, zelkova forest dominated by the c. tschonoskii group on mesic-middle parts, oak forest dominated by the groups of q. acutissima, q. variabilis, q. serrata and q. mongolica on xeric sites and pine forest dominated by the p. densiflora group on dry and poor sites, were separated in mosaic chart by the two-dimensional analysis.

  • Annual total values and thereby assets values of natural resources are determined by sample household WTP estimates and the extent of market. In the current domestic practice of CVM, total numbers of national households were used as the target population to measure total economic values including non-use values. This study proposed an alternative method of calculating potential user groups based on distributions of residential area of visitors in the sample using 4 provincial parks in the Chon Buk area as cases. The sample mean of WTP of Moak Mt. visitors, who are mostly from the nearby Chon Buk provincial area, was estimated to be about 8,215 won. On the other hand, the mean of WTP of Sun Woon Mt., whose visitors are evenly distributed from all over the country, was about 4,693 won. When applied national households as the target population, annual total benefits and thereby asset values of Moak Mt. was high enough to be 86 billion and 1.6 trillion won respectively. However, those of Sun Woon Mt. was low to be 52 billion and 1 trillion. On the contrary, when applied potential user groups of each park as the extent of market, annual total benefits and asset values of Sun Woon Mt. was reversed to be high--23 billion won and 400 billion won respectively. However, those of Moak Mt. was lowered to be 10 billion won and 200 billion won. Furthermore, asset values of the same park were differed by 2 to 8 times according to the way of setting the extent of market.
