$Pb(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$계 세라믹스의 전기적 특성과 미세구조에 미치는 ZnO 첨가영향 (The Effect of ZnO Addition on the Electric Properties and Microstructure of $Pb(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$Ceramics)

  • Microstructure and electrical properties of ZnO-doped (0-5 mol%) 0.05 Pb(Mn1/3Sb2/3)O3-0.95 PZT ceramics were investigated. Sintering temperature was decreased to 100$0^{\circ}C$ due to eutetic reaction between PbO and ZnO. Grain-size increased up to adding 1mol% ZnO and then decreased. Compositions of grain and grain-boundary were investigated by WDS. Lattice parameter was decreased with ZnO addition. Density increased with ZnO addition and reached to the maximum of 7.84(g/cm2) at 2 mol% ZnO. The effect of ZnO on electrical properties of PMS-PZT was investigated. At 3mol% ZnO addition electromechanical coupling factor(kp) was about 50% and relative dielectric constant($\varepsilon$33/$\varepsilon$0) was 997 Mechanical quality factor(Qm) decreased with ZnO addition. Lattice parameters and tetragonality(c/a) were measured to investigate relationship between the electric properties and substitution of Zn2+. At 3 mol% ZnO tetragonality was maximiged at c/a=1.0035 Curie temperature (Tc) decreased slightly with ZnO addition.

  • In this study, to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for piezoelectric transformer, PSN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured as a function of $MnO_2$ addition. Its dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics were investigated. With increasing the amount of $MnO_2$ addition, electromechanical coupling factor(kp) were increased until 0.3wt% $MnO_2$ and that after decreased. mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed the maxinum value at 0.5wt% $MnO_2$. For piezoelectric transformer application, the 0.5wt% $MnO_2$ added specimen sintered at $1,000^{\circ}C$ showed the proper value of ${\varepsilon}r$= 1,646, kp=0.55 and Qm=439.

  • Effect of NiO and $MnO_2$ addtivies on the dielectric piezoelectrics and polarization-reversal properties of $(Pb_{0.936} La_{0.064})$$(Zr_{0.60}Ti_{0.40})O_3$ ceramics have been investigated. The specimens were prepared by the mixed oxide techni-que and atmosphere sintering method. The room temperature X-ray diffraction studies show that perfect perovskite solution with tetragonal structure was obtained from PLZT and its additives. The dielectric constant and dissipation factor decreased with the addition of both NiO and $MnO_2$ The Curie of Curie temperature was not observed but they displayed broadened maxima. The planar coupling factor was improved by addition of NiO and also increased with increasing sintering time carried out at 105$0^{\circ}C$ Addition of $MnO_2$ yielded a markedly high mechanical quality factor. The space-charge field decreased with the addition of NiO but increased with the addition of $MnO_2$ The planar coupling factor and space-charge field showed same dependence on the additivies. The tetragonality Curie temperature and planar coupling factor of $(Pb_{0.936} La_{0.064})$$(Zr_{0.60}Ti_{0.40})O_3$ were higher than those of $(Pb_{0.936} La_{0.064})$$(Zr_{0.568}NU_{0.032}Ti_{0.40})_{0.984}O_3$ but the grain size lattic parameter dielectric constant dissipation factor mechanical quality factor and space-charge field of the former were lower than those of the latter.

  • For improvement of B constant in $CaMnO_3$-$CaTiO_3$ perovskite type thermistors, effect of $Cr_2$$O_3$ addition ranged from 0.0wt% to 5.0wt% on electrical properties were investigated with contents and sintering temperatures in the view of crystal and microstructures. The solubility limit of Cr$_2$O$_3$was up to 0.5wt% judging from the result of lattice parameter. The grain size was decreased and the resistance at room temperature and B constant were increased with the addition of $Cr_2$$O_3$.On particular, B constant of$CaMnO_{3-x}$$Cr_2$$O_3$ system was increased greatly from 1574k to 2598k at 0.5wt% $Cr_2$$O_3$addition. Further addition of $Cr_2$$O_3$, however, resulted in the decrease of the resistance and B constant due to the $Cr_2$$O_3$ precipitation on the grain boundary. As the$CaTiO_3$contents increased in the $CaMnO_3$-$CaTiO_3$ system, the resistance at room temperature and B constant were highly changed.

과망간산칼륨을 이용한 용해성 망간 제거: 중탄산염 영향 및 최적조건 (Manganese removal by KMnO4: Effects of bicarbonate and the optimum conditions)

  • This study is focused on manganese (Mn(II)) removal by potassium permanganate ($KMnO_4$) in surface water. The effects of bicarbonate on Mn(II) indicated that bicarbonate could remove Mn(II), but it was not effectively. When 0.5 mg/L of Mn(II) was dissolved in tap water, the addition of $KMnO_4$ as much as $KMnO_4$ to Mn(II) ratio is 0.67 satisfied the drinking water regulation for Mn (i.e. 0.05 mg/L), and the main mechanism was oxidation. On the other hand, when the same Mn(II) concentration was dissolved in surface water, the addition of $KMnO_4$, which was the molar ratio of $KMnO_4/Mn(II)$ ranged 0.67 to 0.84 was needed for the regulation satisfaction, and the dominant mechanisms were both oxidation and adsorption. Unlike Mn(II) in tap water, the increasing the reaction time increased Mn(II) removal when $KMnO_4$ was overdosed. Finally, the optimum conditions for the removals of 0.5 - 2.0 mg/L Mn(II) in surface water were both $KMnO_4$ to Mn(II) ratio is 0.67 - 0.84 and the reaction time of 15 min. This indicated that the addition of $KMnO_4$ was the one of convenient and effective methods to remove Mn(II).

  • MPB조성영역에 MnO2를 첨가한 압전체를 제조하여 분극처리후에 반복압축응력을 부여함에 따른 압전열화 현상을 조사하고 분극처리 전후의 굽힘강도의 변화 및 파괴특성을 연구하였다. MnO2를 0.25wt.% 첨가한 시편에서 가장 적은 열화현상이 일어났다. 굽힘강도는 분극처리 후 하중방향에 평행한 방향으로 분극처리한 시편이 분극처리 전보다 높은 강도를 나타내었고, 수직한 방향으로 분극처리한 시편은 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 이는 분극처리시 발생하는 전계방향으로 압축잔류응력, 직각방향으로 인장잔류응력 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

Kaolin을 이용한 Mullite 합성에 미치는 광화제 첨가 효과 (The Effect of Mineralizer Addition on Synthesis of Mullite using Kaolin)

  • 본 연구에서는 fine ceramics의 합성법을 traditional ceramics 합성에 적용하여 합성한 내화재료용 mullite에 광화제를 첨가함으로서 광화제가 mullite 생성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하고자 한다. 출발물질로 하동 kaolin과 boehmite를 사용하였으며, 여기에 광화제로 MnO와 TiO2를 액상으로 첨가하였다. 그 결과 3.5 wt% MnO를 첨가한 경우, 1,25$0^{\circ}C$에서 미반응 silica와 alumina가 존재하지 않는 단일상의 mullite를 합성할 수 있었으며, TiO2 첨가시 2~3.5wt% MnO의 경우 mullite 생성 온도를 약 10$0^{\circ}C$ 낮출 수 있었다. 이때의 mullite 생성율은 1$650^{\circ}C$에서 84%이며, 부피 비중과 흡수율 및 상온에서 꺾임강도는 각각 2.72, 0.27%, 180MPa을 나타내어 광화제를 첨가하지 않은 경우보다 특성도 향상함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The magnetic properties of Mg-Mn ferrites were investigated in the composition range of $Mg_{a}Mn_{b}Fe_{c}O_{4\pm\delta}$ (a+b+c=3) with the addition of $Al_{2}O_{3}$. In $MgO-MnO-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ ternary system, the spinel single phase existed within the composition range of MgO-50 mol%, MnO-70 mol% and $Fe_{2}O_{3}-60\;mol%$. The saturation magnetic flux density increased with the increase of $Fe_{2}O_{3}$ content and showed the maximum at the stoichiometric composition of $(Mg,Mn)Fe_{2}O_{4}$. In $Mg_{x}Mn_{1-x}Fe_{2}O_{4}(x=0.2~0.8)$ system, the saturation magnetic flux density showed the maximum at $Mg_{0.2}Mn_{0.8}Fe_{2}O_{4}$. The addition of $Al_{2}O_{3}$ resulted in the decrease of saturation magnetic flux density but increased the electrical resistivity.

  • In this paper, we investigated the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb(Sb, Nb)O$_3$-Pb(Zr, Ti)O$_3$ ceramic(PSN) for piezoelectric transformer and actuator etc. Effect of MnO$_2$ addition on the PSN ceramic was investigated. Anisotropic properties of electromechanical coupling factor and piezoelectric properties proved to be varied with amount of MnO$_2$ impurity and sintering temperature. The electromechanical coupling factor k$_{p}$ of 0.38 and the mechanical quality factor Q$_{m}$ of 1944 were obtained from the specimen with 0.4 wt% MnO$_2$ sintered at 115$0^{\circ}C$ addition. Experimental results indicated that the PSN ceramic with MnO$_2$ impurity can be effectively used for piezoelectric transformer and actuator.tor.

  • In this study, $0.95(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3$-0.05Li$(Sb_{0.8}Nb_{0.2})O_3$ + $Ag_2O$ + x wt% $MnO_2$ were investigated as a function of the amount of $MnO_2$ addition in order to improve dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. With increasing the amount of $MnO_2$ addition, density and electromechanical coupling factor $(k_p)$ increased up to 0.3wt.% $MnO_2$ and decreased above 0.3wt.% $MnO_2$. At the sintering temperature of 1020 $^{\circ}C$, Electromechanical coupling factor $(k_p)$, density, dielectric constant $({\varepsilon}r)$ and mechanical quality factor $(Q_m)$ of composition ceramics with 0.4wt% $Ag_2O$ addition showed the optimal value of 0.431, 4.33 g/$cm^3$, 820 and 119, respectively.
