Effect of MnO2 Addition on Electrical Properties and Microstructure in Pb[Cd1/2W1/2)0.02Zr0.505Ti0.475]O3 (Pb[Cd1/2W1/2)0.02Zr0.505Ti0.475]O3조성에서의 MnO2첨가에 대한 영향)

  • The microstructure and electrical properties of 0.02Pb[Cd1/2W1/2)O3-0.505PbZrO3-0.475PbTiO3 with MnO2 addition have been investigated. The amount of MnO2 addition was 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1wt%, respectively. When MnO2 is added up to 0.2wt%, Mn3+ which is substituted for Ti4+ site make hole and act as a acceptor. When MnO2 is added over 0.2wt% Mn3+ which is substituted for Cd2+ site create electron and act as a donor. The variation of grain size show that it was rapidly increased by 0.4wt% addition of MnO2, and while that in the range of over 0.6wt% addition of MnO2 it was decreased. The solid solution range of MnO2 that assumed in this composition according to the variations of microstructure and electrical properties was 0.4-0.6wt%.

  • The effects of SiO2 MnO2 and sintering atmospheres (O2, N2) on the piezoelectric properties and densification behaviors of Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 were investigated. The addition of SiO2 to the system enhanced the rate of densification but supressed the rate of grain growth. On the other hand the addition of MnO2 to the system did not nearly affect the rate of densification but increased slightly the rate of grain growth The densification of Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 containing of SiO2 or MnO2 was promoted with increasing the partial pressure of O2. The relative dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$r) and piezoelectric constant (d33) of Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 containing of SiO2 or MnO2 sintered under O2 atmosphere were higher than under N2 atmosphere. Whereas the mechanical quality factor (Qm) of specimens sintered under O2 atmosphere were lower than under N2 atmosphere. Thus the sintering atmosphere of O2 and N2 in Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 containing of SiO2 or MnO2 acted as donor and acceptor respectively. As the amount of SiO2 increased the relative dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$r) and piezoelectric constant (d33) of Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 but the mechanical quality factor (Qm) did not nearly change, In the case of the addition of MnO2 to the system the relative dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$r) and piezoelectric constant (d33) of Pb0.98Cd0.02Zr0.36Ti0.39Ni0.083Nb0.167O3 sintered under O2 atmosphere decreased rapidly with increasing the amount of MnO2 but they were unchanged with increasing the amount of MnO2 under N2 sintering atmosphere. Therefore the differences of the relative dielect-ric constant ($\varepsilon$r) and piezoelectric constant (d33) due to sintering atmosphere were diminished as the amount of MnO2 increased.

  • Pb(Zr, Ti)O$^{3}$-Pb(Mg, Nb)O$^{3}$계에 MnO$_{2}$첨가량을 변화시켜 소결성, 미세구조, 유전상수, 비저항 및 압전특성에 미치는 영향을 XRD, EDAX 및 SEM을 이용하여 미세구조를 관찰하고 실험을 통하여 전기적 성질에 미치는 영향을 밝혔다. 비저항의 변화없이 그레인 성장이 억제되는 $MnO_{2}$의 첨가량은 0.4wt%이었으며 이때 분말의 합성이 촉진되어 소성된 시편의 밀도가 증가하였다. 그러나 고상반응의 범위를 벗어나는 과잉 $MnO_{2}$는 편석이 되어 그레인 경계상에 모임이 확인되었고 또한 기공을 형성하여 밀도를 낮추었다. $Mn^{+4}$$Mg^{+2}$ 와 치환되어 페로브스카이트 구조의 "A" 결핍을 유발하였으며 이것이 비저강을 감소시키는 원인으로 밝혀졌다.감소시키는 원인으로 밝혀졌다.

  • Effects of $La_2O_3$, $MnO_2$ on the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of $0.02Pb(Y_{2/3}W_{1/3}O_3-0.98Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ system were investigated. The addition of La2O3 to the system enhanced electromechanical coupling factor (kp), piezoelectric constant (d33), but hardly changed mechanical quality factor (Qm). On the other hand, the addition of $MnO_2$ increased Qm significantly, but did not degrade kp and d33 so much. The piezoelectric properties of $0.02Pb(Y_{2/3}W_{1/3}O_3-0.98Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3$ containing 0.1wt% $La_2O_3$, 0.4wt% $MnO_2$ were very good and kp, d33, Qm were 55%, 350$\times$10-12C/N, 780, respectively. The size of the grains was proportional to the change of c/a (tetragonality) ratio caused by the addition of $La_2O_3$ and $MnO_2$, and dielectric, piezoelectric properties were sensitive to the amountof pyrochrole phase.

  • Piezoceramic filters were fabricated by adding $MnO_2 and FeZ0_3$ to the $0.05Pb(Al_{2/3}W_{1/3})O_3-0.95Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti0.48)O_3$ system using photolithography method. As the amounts of $MnO_2$ increased, the electro-mechanical coupling factor(Kp) decresed. On the other hand, for $Fe_2O_3$ added samples, Kp was 57%, but mechanical quality factor(Qm) showed relatively low value. The passband widths were 155kHz for 0.3wt % $MnO_2$ addition and 260kHz for 0.1 wt % $Fe_2O_3$ addition, and were inversely propotional to Qm values. Group delay time characteristics showed Gausian for $MnO_2$ additions and Butterworth for$Fe_2O_3$ additions.

  • The microstructure and electrical properties of Pb[(Sb1/2 Nb1/2)0.08 Zr0.49 Ti0.48]O3 with MnO2 addition have been investigated in this work. The amount of MnO2 addition was 0, 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, 2.0 wt%, respectively. The soild solution range of MnO2 that assumed in this composition according to thevariations of micro-structure and electrical properties was 0.4-0.8 wt%.

  • The effects of $MnO_2$ and $Cr_2O_3$ on the Piezoelectrictric properties of Pb(Mg1/2W1/2)0.3 Ti0.4 Zr0.3O3 Ceramics. Electromechanical properties in the system in connection with the sintering temperature and the effects of $MnO_2$ and $Cr_2O_3$ addition. The dielectric constant of the ceramics decreased with the additions of $MnO_2$ while the additions of $Cr_2O_3$ increased the value. The Planar coupling factor (Kp) of the ceramics with 0.2wt% $MnO_2$ and with 0.2wt% $Cr_2O_3$ gave the highest value of 0.52 and 0.513 as sintered at 106$0^{\circ}C$, 108$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. The value of mechanical Q-factor were in parallel with the fired density of the ceramics. The optical micrography of the sintered bodies showed that the additions of $MnO_2$ promoted the grain growth, while the additions of $Cr_2O_3$ retarded the grain growth.

A Study on the Dielectric and Pyroelectric Properties of the PSS-PT-PZ Ceramics Added $MnO_2$ ($MnO_2$가 첨가될 PSS-PT-PZ 세라믹의 유전 및 초전특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, $(Pb_{0.99}La_{0.01})[(Sb_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})_{0.10}Ti_{0.25}Zr_{0.65}]O_3$, added $MnO_2$ (0-0.30[mol%]) ceramics were fabricated by the mixed oxide method. The sintering temperature and time were $1250[^{\circ}C]$, 2[hr], respectively. In the $(Pb_{0.99}La_{0.01})[(Sb_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})_{0.10}Ti_{0.25}Zr_{0.65}]O_3$ added $MnO_2$ (0.24[mol%]) specimens, relative dielectric constant and dielectric loss were minimum values 3.52, 0.003, respectively, and Curie temperature were highest values $256[^{\circ}C]$. Pyroelectric coefficient and voltage responsivity of the $(Pb_{0.99}La_{0.01})[(Sb_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})_{0.10}Ti_{0.25}Zr_{0.65}]O_3$, and added $MnO_2$ (0.24[mol%]) specimen were good values, $6.73{\times}10^{-8}[C/cm^2K],\;125[v/W]$, respectively. Figure of merit of pyroelectric current, voltage and detectivity of the specimen, $(Pb_{0.99}La_{0.01})[(Sb_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})_{0.10}Ti_{0.25}Zr_{0.65}]O_3$ added $MnO_2$ (0.24[mol%]) were good values $2.714{\times}10^{-8}[Ccm/J],\;7.706{\times}10^{-11}[Ccm/J],\;2.640{\times}10^{-8}[Ccm/J]$, respectively. Voltage responsivity of the $(Pb_{0.99}La_{0.01})[(Sb_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})_{0.10}Ti_{0.25}Zr_{0.65}]O_3$ added $MnO_2$ (0.24[mol%]) specimens were decreased with increasing the chopper frequency.

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 센서에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$ 세라믹스에 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비를 0.37에서 0.41로 변화시킨 조성을 1175 $\sim$ 1200$^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 소결하여 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였고, 압전, 유전 특성을 고찰하였다. 본조성에서 x=0.385 조성에서 최대 유전상수 값 3490 이 나타났으며, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 감소하였다. 상경계 영역인 x=0.385 조성에서 $\varepsilon$r, $K_p$, $d_{33}$ 값이 최대값을 나타내었다. $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$, 세라믹스에서는 kp 와 $d_{33}$ 는 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비 0.385조성까지 증가하였다가 그 이상 조성에서 감소하였다. $1175^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결한 x=0.385조성에서 $\varepsilon$r=3490, kp=0.71, Qm=476의 우수한 압전 특성을 나타내었다.

  • The sintering phenomena and piezoelectric properties of PZT ceramics of composition $Pb(Zr_{0.54} Ti_{0.46})O_3$ were investigated when a small quantity of $La_2O_3$ , $LaMnO_3$, $LaCrO_3$ were added. The unwanted chemical composition change in PZT during sinterin porces du to PbO evaporation poses a severe problem in PZt manufacturinig. It is observed tat an addition of small amount of $LaMnO_3$ to PZT markedly decreases the evaporation of PbO during sintering . The green compact of (1-x) PZT.xLaMnO3(x=0.02~0.10) could be sintered of under O2 atmosphere alone with no significant loss of PbO. The planar coupling factor kp of the sintered $0.98Pb(Zr_{0.54} Ti_{0.46})O_{3.0.02}LaMnO}3$ is similar to that of commercial PZT 6A. Microstructure investigation shows that part of sintering process of $Pb(Zr, Ti)O_3$.$LaMnO_3$ system progresses via liquid phase sintering. It is believed that the evaporation of PbO in PZT sintering is restricted by the addition of $LaMnO_3$ due to the above phenomena. Furthermore the solid solution of $LaMnO_3$ in PZT causes diffuses phase transition.
