Weather-resistant coatings were prepared by mixing a synthesized mill-base and let-down silicone/acrylic resin in weight ratios of 4 : 6, 3 : 7, and 2 : 8. The weatherability of the prepared coatings was tested. The thermal stability, general physical properties, and weatherability of the films of the coatings were improved with silicone content. Among the three mixing ratios mentioned, the ratio of 2 : 8 was the most suitable for the preparation of weather-resistant Coatings. The coatings containing 30 wt% of silicone proved to be a high weather-resistant coating.

The important drawback of epoxy electrodeposition(ED) coatings is the lack of the weathering resistance caused by the structure of bisphenol A. To improve this yellowing phenomena, acryl ED coatings have been developed. Compared with the epoxy ED coatings, however, acryl ED coatings are relatively weak in the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The purpose of this study is complemented their drawbacks by mixing epoxy and acryl ED paints. The salt spray, accelerated weathering test(QUV) and cupping, bending, impact test were employed to investigate the corrosion resistance, weathering resistance, and mechanical properties of ED coatings. When the ratio of acryl to epoxy resin of ED coating is 0.33, the weathering resistances are appropriately improved in condition maintaining the corrosion resistance. It was shown that the weathering resistance for epoxy ED coating was adjusted by optimally mixing acryl ED paint.

It is known that the fluoric resin has the most outstanding properties in the extremely acidic environment of high temperature. However, this resin is the thermal hardening type that needs long time heat treatments above $250^{\circ}C$. It's impossible to use in situ in the extremely acidic environment such as a huge FGD ductworks or industrial chemical tanks. Furthermore, even the natural hardening type fluoric coatings which can be hardened less than $120^{\circ}C$ can not be applied to the highly acidic environmental plants because of its chemical resistance. In this study, new fluoric coatings that has excellent thermal resistance, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance has been developed in order to solve above problems and to be applied to the large plant structures in the field. These newly developed coatings are organic and inorganic composite type that have fluoric rubber(100 wt%), fluoric resin(5~50 wt%), oxalates(5~30 wt%), inorganic fillers mixed with plate-type and bulk-type solids(20~150 wt%), hardeners(0.5~5 wt%), and hardening hasteners(0.1~3 wt%). The best chemical and physical properties of these coatings are acquired by variation of adhesive reinforcement agents, dispersants, leveling agents. Mixing ratios of plate-type and bulk-type inorganic fillers influence the thermal properties, abrasive resistance and chemical infiltration properties of coatings. The mixing control is also very important to have homogeneous surface and removing inner voids of coatings.
Coating is a type of paint. It protects a product forming a film layer on the product and assigns various properties to the product. Coating is one of the fields which is being studied actively in the polymer industry. Importance of coating in various industries is more increased. However, mixing process has been performing in dependence on operator's experience. In this paper, we found the relationship between each data from coating formulation process. We propose a framework to analyze the coating formulation process as well. It can improve the coating formulation process. In particular, the suggested framework may reduce degradation and loss costs due to absence of standard data which is accurate formulation criteria. Also it suggests responses to errors which can be occurred in the future through the analysis of the error data generated in mixing step.

In order to investigate the effect of the composition of weather-resistant coatings on physical properties, three different weather-resistant coatings were prepared by varying the ratio of a mill-base silicone/acrylic resin and let-down silicone/acrylic resin in weight ratios of 2 : 8, 3 : 7, and 4 : 6. The physical properties and weather-resistance of the prepared coatings were tested. It was found that the thermal stability, salt spray exposure, and weather-resistance were improved with increasing the amount of silicone. The optimum mixing ratio of mill-base silicone/acrylic resin to the let-down silicone/acrylic resin was 2 : 8. The coating containing silicone component of 30 wt% was found to be suitable as high weather-resistant coatings.
In recent years, thermal insulation coating technology for automotive engine parts has received significant attention as a means of improving the thermal efficiency of automotive engines. One of the characteristics of thermal insulation coatings is their low thermal conductivity, and, materials such as YSZ (Yttria-stabilized zirconia), which have low thermal conductivity, are used for this purpose. This research presents a study of the changes in the microstructure and thermal conductivity of $8YSZ/SiO_2$ multi compositional thermal insulation coating for different compositions, and particle size distributions of suspension, when it is subjected to suspension plasma spraying. To obtain a porous coating structure, the mixing ratio of 8YSZ and $SiO_2$ particles and the particle sizes of the $SiO_2$ were changed. The microstructure, phase formation behavior, porosity and thermal conductivity of the coatings were analyzed. The porosities were found to be 1.2-32.1%, and the thermal conductivities of the coatings were 0.797-0.369 W/mK. The results of the study showed that the microstructures of the coatings were strongly influenced by the particle size distributions, and that the thermal conductivities of the coatings were greatly impacted by the microstructures of the coatings.

Massive data occurred in a manufacturing place is able to fulfill very important roll to improve the manufacturing process. Domestic manufacturing business has been making an multilateral effort to react the change of manufacturing circumstance, but it undergoes many difficulties due to technical weakness. Coatings is a type of paint. It protect products by forming a film layer on the products and assigns various properties to those. The research of coatings is one of the fields studied actively in the polymer industry. The importance of the coatings in various industries is more increased. However, the industry still performs a mixing process in dependence on operator's experiences. In this paper, we propose a design for realtime monitoring system and data analysis verification TA to improve the manufacturing process using HW-SW integrated framework. Analysis results from the proposed framework are able to improve the coatings formulation process by collecting more quantitative reference data for work and providing it to work place. In particular, the framework may reduce the deterioration and loss cost which are caused by absence of a standard data as a accurate formulation criteria. It also may suggest a counterplan regarding errors which can be occurred in the future by deriving a standard calibration equation from the analysis using R and Design of Experiments about an error data generated in the mixing step.
In this paper, we studied, by numerical calculation, a system, which was composed of metal-film and metal-substrate irradiated by IPIB with beam ion energy 250 keV, current density 10 to 250 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$. While the IPIB irradiation was going on, an induced effect named mixing occurred. In this case, metal-film and part of metal-substrate melted and mixed. The mixing state was kept as it was in melting phase due to the fast cooling rate. Our works were simulating the heating and cooling process via our STEIPIB program and tried to find proper parameters for a specific film-substrate system, 500 nmtitanium film coated on aluminum, to get best mixing results. The parameters calculated for such Ti-Al system were compared with the experimental results and were in good accordance to the experimental results.

The demand for low-friction, wear and corrosion resistant components, which operate under severe conditions, has directed attentions to advanced surface engineering technologies. The Filtered Vacuum Arc Cathode Deposition (FVACD) process has demonstrated atomically smooth surface at relatively high deposition rates over large surface areas. Preparation of Ti-Si-C-N nanocomposite coatings on (100) Si and stainless steel substrates with tetramethylsilane (TMS) gas pressures to optimize the film preparation conditions. Ti-S-C-N coatings were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, nanoindentation, Rockwell C indentation and ball-on-disk wear tests. The XRD results have confirmed phase formation information of TiSiCN coatings, which shows mixing of TiN and TiC structure, corresponding to (111), (200) and (220) planes of TiCN. The chemical composition of the film was investigated by XPS core level spectra. The binding energy of the elements present in the films was estimated using XPS measurements and it shows present of elemental information corresponding to Ti2p, N1s, Si 2p and C1. Film hardness and elastic modulus were measured with a nano-indenter, and film hardness reached 40 GPa. Tribological behaviors of the films were evaluated using a ball-on-disk tribometer, and the films demonstrated properties of low-friction and good wear resistance.
