  • In recent years, realistic contents technology such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality has been spreading in travel and tourism industries, and hence there have been various smart tourism AR, VR contents developed. In the past, people mainly used books and Internet for travel, but the use of VR, AR and MR technologies will be used more for consumption of cultural leisure contents in the future. This study describes the Mixed Reality based Baekje Neungsa Cultural Heritage On-Site Guide System to accelerate smart tourism. In this study, the immersive mixed reality HMD was used to provide visitors with more intuitive and effective information about the historical, cultural and architectural values of Baekje Neungsa through virtual experiences. The cultural heritage on-site guide system module supports various Meta Data services and can be easily used for mixed reality content development by designating Meta Data scripts. This research can make contributions to the development of mixed reality based smart tourism contents.

  • Based on the theory of space perception, this paper concludes that the mixed reality application under the theory of space perception has a three-level definition of visual hierarchy and then analyzes the component elements of interface design and the classification mode of interface windows. Next, carry out case practice research through this theoretical definition, and finally conduct the survey and analysis of questionnaire data, verifying that the mixed reality interface design based on spatial perception theory meets the user experience elements of Usability, Availability, and Attraction. The conclusion is that the constituent elements of interface design and the window classification mode can provide specific and practical design specifications for mixed reality interface design, reduce the interaction cost of completing tasks, reduce users' cognitive load, and make it easier for users to receive interface information

  • Recently, attention has been focused on mixed reality (MR) technology, which provides an experience that can not be realized in reality by fusing virtual information into the real world. Mixed reality has the advantage of having excellent interaction with reality and maximizing immersion feeling. In this paper, we propose a method to acquire a point cloud for the production of mixed reality contents using multiple Depth and RGB camera system.

  • Through the past decades variable researches on Virtual Reality(VR) has been performed and acceptable by the computer and information technology development. VR has been used usefully also on construction industry It can visualize the construction process and simulates the construction operation considering environment and resources. However, VR has hardness to expressing the real world reality. Therefore, Mixed reality which is the blend of real world and virtual world is being emerged. Specially researches on Augmented Reality is actively performed. This study will focus on Augmented Reality technologies and research trend. Finally, the study will suggest schemes to apply Augmented Reality on Korean Construction Industry.

  • Recently, interest in flight simulators based on HMD and mixed reality is increasing. However, they have limitations in providing various interactions and a sense of presence to pilot wearing HMD. To overcome these limitations, a mixed reality image corresponding to the interaction under the actual cockpit environment must be generated in real time and provided to the pilot. For this purpose, we proposed a mixed reality image generation method, in which the cockpit area including the pilot's body could be extracted from real image obtained from the camera attached to the HMD and then composed with virtual image to generate a high-resolution mixed reality image. Simulation results showed that the proposed method could provide mixed reality images to HMD at 30 Hz frame rate with 99% image composition accuracy.

  • While the development of digital media has positive aspects of knowledge enlargement and a new communication channel, it also demonstrates a lot of unexpected defects, such as personal isolation, addiction, obsession or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity. Thus, the author considers it is urgent to develop the contents specifically designed for children in this new digital environment and would like to propose the combined Children's device and contents using the new concept of Mixed Reality. The Mixed Reality that mixes real world and virtual world provides the opportunity that can experience the new concept of play education by using touchable interface of children's real life toy cars together with the virtual world in the smart phones. This Mixed Reality that is extended from sole senses will lead the children to develop the concentration, sense of reality and imagination and also to experience the enlarged play and education concept.

  • In this study, safety education contents for medical radiation workers were produced based on Mixed Reality(MR). Currently, safety training for radiation workers is based on theory. This is insufficient in terms of worker satisfaction and efficiency. To address this, we created ICT(Information and Communication Technologies)-based MR radiation worker safety education content. The expected effect of Mixed Reality worker safety education content is that education is possible without space and time constraints, realistic education is possible without on-site training, and interaction between images is possible through reality-based 3D images, enabling self-directed learning Is that. In addition, learning in a virtual space expressed through HMD(Head Mounted Display) is expected to make education more enjoyable and increase concentration, thereby increasing the efficiency of education. A quantitative evaluation was conducted by an accredited institution and a qualitative evaluation was performed on users, which received excellent evaluation. The MR safety education conducted in this study is expected to be of great help to the education of medical radiation workers, and is expected to develop into a new educational paradigm as online education in accordance with Corona 19 progresses.

  • Giving birth to a new concept of spatial paratext which originated from literature criticism, this paper attempts to illuminate new value, meaning and properties of mobile mixed reality. While physical places can be regarded as 'langue' that refers to fixed structure and main text at the same time, user created participatory authoring in that place and his(her) spatio-temporal trace corresponds to 'parole', and their merging into mobile mixed reality storytelling can be viewed as 'paratexts'. We proposed a design and implementation methods for establishing spatial paratexts, also with aesthetic transformation experiments with them. In this way, we gave shape to the concrete concept and realization methods of mobile mixed reality as spatial paratext.
