MR용 실사 애니메이션 제작 기술

  • 본 고에서는 혼합현실(Mixed Reality, MR) 기반의 서비스를 위한 제작과 관련된 동향과 기술에 대해서 살펴본다. MR이란 증강현실과 가상현실의 장점을 통합하고 사용자와의 인터랙션을 더욱 강화한 방식으로 정의할 수 있는데, 이를 위해 사람에 대해 실사 형태를 가지면서 360도의 전방위 관찰이 가능한 동적인 3D모델 제작기술이 가장 핵심적인 요소이다. 특히 MR 기술 중에서 최근 5G 및 6G 기술의 시대와 함께 실사 객체 및 장면에 대한 3차원 그래픽스와 영상처리 기술을 이용한 6DoF 기반의 실사 애니메이션 제작 기술에 대해서 주로 다루고자 한다. 또한 국내외 기술적 수준을 바탕으로 국내외 시장 동향에 대해서 살펴보고, MR 기술이 시장에 미치는 파급효과와 활용 분야에 대해서도 다룬다.

  • 단어 카드나 그림을 통한 낱말 교육은 집중력과 주의력을 오래 유지하는 것이 어렵다. 유아들은 사물을 심상 혹은 이미지로 인식하는 성향이 있으므로 개념을 무리하게 주입시키기 보다는 감각적이고 입체적인 교육이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 홀로렌즈와 객체 인식 기능을 이용한 낱말 학습 시스템 개발에 대해 설명한다. 이 시스템을 통해 사용자는 실제 객체와의 상호작용을 통해 낱말 학습이 가능하며, 한국어를 제외한 언어에도 적용하여 외국어 교육에도 효과적일 것으로 기대한다.

  • IT convergence technology is gradually becoming anthropocentric and evolving based on the low-carbon green growth. Augmented reality technique is a contents convergence technology that can mix virtual objects while maintaining a sense of the real world. For that reason, interaction between user and system is possible, can make various applications, and has a high possibility for expandability. To expand the scope of existing interaction, this paper suggests contextual UX-based augmented reality system. It is a system which creates virtual objects that respond to the changes in the real world environment, and users can directly apply their personal preferences to virtual objects. Also, several virtual objects can be registered all at once, and even shows animations corresponding to either day and night according to the brightness of illumination. As said, it improves user's satisfaction through a system of mixed usability, and leads to a continuous use of augmented reality contents.

  • Metaverse is a modern new technology that is advancing quickly. The goal of this study is to investigate this technique from the perspective of computer vision as well as general perspective. A thorough analysis of computer vision related Metaverse topics has been done in this study. Its history, method, architecture, benefits, and drawbacks are all covered. The Metaverse's future and the steps that must be taken to adapt to this technology are described. The concepts of Mixed Reality (MR), Augmented Reality (AR), Extended Reality (XR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are briefly discussed. The role of computer vision and its application, advantages and disadvantages and the future research areas are discussed.

Effects of Linguistic Immersion Synthesis on Foreign Language Learning Using Virtual Reality Agents (가상현실 에이전트 외국어 교사를 활용한 외국어 학습의 몰입 융합 효과)

  • This study investigates the effectiveness of virtual reality agents as foreign language instructors with focus on the impact of different native language backgrounds and instructional roles. The agents were first distinguished as native or non-native speakers treated as a between-subject factor, and then assigned roles as either teachers or salespersons considered within-subject factors. An immersive virtual environment was developed for this experiment, and a 2×2 mixed factorial design was carried out. In an experimental group of 72 university students, statistically significant interactions were found in learning satisfaction, memory, and recall between the native/non-native status of the agents and their roles. With regard to learning confidence and presence, however, no statistically significant differences were observed in both interaction effects and main effects. Contextual learning in a virtual environment was found to enhance learning effectiveness and satisfaction, with the nativeness and the role of agents influencing learners' memory; thus highlighting the effectiveness of using virtual reality agents in foreign language learning. This suggests that varied approaches can have positive cognitive and emotional impacts on learners, thereby providing valuable theoretical and empirical implications.

  • Digital media technology has power of influence as extended in not only science and technology but also our society and culture. These phenomenon is explained as 'digital convergence'. Edmond Couchot argue the term 'hybridization'. Yvonne Spielmann and Jay David Bolter also argue that digital hybrid artworks across and integrates a diverse range of modes of representation, such as image, text, sound, space and bodily modes of expression. They must also address communicative interaction in the convergence of real and virtual spaces. In this paper, I noticed mixed reality environment which is seen as the form of hybrid between real and virtual object. And I discuss about this phenomenon as the study of interdisciplinary between art and science.

Seasonal Distribution of Oceanic Conditions and Water Mass in the Korea Strait and the East China Sea: Correction of Atmosphere Cooling Effect (대한해협과 동중국해의 해황과 수괴의 계절분포: 대기에 의한 냉각효과 보정)

  • Water mass classification was conducted using the data of 1985 and 1986 in the East China Sea and the Korea Strait. Kuroshio water (type K) and mixed water (type I) were broadly distributed at 50 m depth in winter and spring, and mixed waters (type I to IV) were distributed in summer and autumn. At 100 m depth of the East China Sea, and mixed water (type I) was broadly distributed in winter and spring, and mixed waters (type I to III) were in summer, and type I was in autumn. Water mass in summer is the most influenced from the Chinese coastal water. In the Korea Strait, the Kuroshio water (type K) was the main water mass in winter and spring, and mixed waters (type I to IV) were in summer and autumn. If temperatures are corrected to remove the cooling effect from the atmosphere, the Kuroshiowater region was diminished, however the mixed water region was expanded in winter and spring. This shows that although the Kuroshio water appears to be a main water mass of the East China Sea and the Korea Strait in winter andspring, in reality the mixed water (type I) which is slightly changed from the Kuroshio water (type K) widely distributed. The tongue-shaped distribution of low density surface water indicates that the water mixed with the Chinese coastal water flows to the Korea Strait and the Okinawa in summer.

Novel Hybrid Content Synchronization Scheme for Augmented Broadcasting Services

  • As a new hybrid broadcasting service, augmented broadcasting shows enhanced broadcasting content on a large TV screen, while augmented reality (AR) on a mobile device augments additional graphical content onto an input image from the device's own camera to provide useful and convenient information for users. A one-sided broadcasting service using AR has already been attempted in virtual advertisements during sport broadcasts. However, because its augmentation is preprocessed before the video image is transmitted, the viewer at home may have no influence on this formation; and no interaction for the user is possible unless the viewer has a direct connection to the content provider. Augmented broadcasting technology enables viewers to watch mixed broadcasting content only when they want such service and to watch original broadcasting content when they do not. To realize an augmented broadcasting service, the most important issue is to resolve the hybrid content synchronization over heterogeneous broadcast and broadband networks. This paper proposes a novel hybrid content synchronization scheme for an augmented broadcasting service and presents its implementation and results in a terrestrial DTV environment.

An Exploratory Study Examining the Effects of Place Creativity and Workplace Attire on Consumer Trust, Attitude, and Purchase Intention in the Virtual E-Commerce Environment (가상현실 쇼핑 경험 시 공간 창의성과 판매원 아바타 의상의 격식성이 소비자의 상품 구매의사에 미치는 영향)

  • This study empirically investigates the design factors that could engender positive impacts on consumers' user experiences with respect to trust, attitude, and intent to purchase a product promoted in the virtual reality (VR) e-commerce environment. Guided by previous literature, we specifically test the role of schema congruity due to the design of the space and virtual agent on trust, attitude, and purchase intention in the context of VR e-commerce. To test the effect of the congruency between user's schema and virtual environment design on user intentions, a 2 × 2 mixed ANOVA design experiment was conducted with place creativity (Low vs. High) as a within factor and workplace attire (Casual vs. Formal) as a between factor. The result showed support for the effect of schema congruity on trust, in that interaction of the two factors were found. Significant positive relationship between trust, attitude, and purchase intention was found. Further implications are discussed based on results.
