Increasing demand for improved reliability and survivability of mission-critical systems is driving the development of health monitoring and Automated Contingency Management (ACM) systems. An ACM system is expected to adapt autonomously to fault conditions with the goal of still achieving mission objectives by allowing some degradation in system performance within permissible limits. ACM performance depends on supporting technologies like sensors and anomaly detection, diagnostic/prognostic and reasoning algorithms. This paper presents the development of a generic prototype test bench software framework for developing and validating ACM systems for advanced propulsion systems called the Propulsion ACM (PACM) Test Bench. The architecture has been implemented for a Monopropellant Propulsion System (MPS) to demonstrate the validity of the approach. A Simulink model of the MPS has been developed along with a fault injection module. It has been shown that the ACM system is capable of mitigating the failures by searching for an optimal strategy. Furthermore, the concepts of Validation and Verification (V&V) of such systems are introduced with relevant examples.

The performance analysis code has been developed for vertical take-off and landing(VTOL) UAV which can be utilized as a trade analysis tool in the pre-conceptual design phase. The UAV requires VTOL capability and high speed cruise performance. The main logic of this performance analysis code is to estimate performance parameters of each mission segment by mission fuel weight iteration. The reliability of this performance analysis code is discussed by comparing the data of existing dual flight mode VTOL UAVs such as Boeing CRW and Bell Tilt Rotor.
Until now, many leadership styles have focused only on behavioral characteristics or skills. However, genuine leadership focuses on the essence of leadership. This study intends to analyze the effects of genuine leadership, the main body leading the corporate organization, on the organization's influence in order to achieve the organizational mission. In order to examine the relationship between genuine leadership, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment after deriving a research model as a method of research, we conducted a regression analysis after frequency analysis, validity, and reliability analysis to examine the effect of genuine leadership on organizational commitment and job satisfaction. looked at the As a result of the analysis, it was found that leadership had a positive effect on organizational commitment and job satisfaction.
Station blackout (SBO) risk is one of the most significant contributors to nuclear power plant risk. In this paper, the sequence probability formulas derived by the convolution approach are compared with those derived by the conventional event tree/fault tree (ET/FT) approach for the SBO situation in which emergency diesel generators fail to start. The comparison identifies what makes the ET/FT approach more conservative and raises the issue regarding the mission time of a turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump (TDP), which suggests a possible modeling improvement in the ET/FT approach. Monte Carlo simulations with up-to-date component reliability data validate the convolution approach. The sequence probability of an alternative alternating current diesel generator (AAC DG) failing to start and the TDP failing to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk. The probability overestimation of the scenario in which the AAC DG fails to run and the TDP fails to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk overestimation determined by the ET/FT approach. The modification of the TDP mission time renders the sequence probabilities determined by the ET/FT approach more consistent with those determined by the convolution approach.

For a stable electric power supply in the space, nuclear batteries have been used as the main power source in a spacecraft owing to their long lifetime and high reliability. In accordance with the plan for lunar mission in Korea, nuclear batteries will supply electricity to the rover that needs to be developed. According to the information about the estimated payload, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute started with the conceptual design based on the previous studies in USA and Russia. Because a nuclear battery converts the decay heat of the radioisotope into electricity, thermal design, radiation shield, and shock protection need to be considered. In this study, two types of nuclear batteries, radial type and axial type, were designed according to the alignment of the thermoelectric module. Heat transfer analyses were performed to compare their thermoelectric efficiency, and test mockups were fabricated to evaluate their performances.

The heater is applied to the lunar lander for securing its survivability under severe lunar thermal environment during 14 days of night time. For this, the heater on/off set-points shall be determined to minimize the power consumption due to the limited power generation of lunar lander during night time. In addition, the temperature changes of the lander according to the heater set-point is also an important factor because it is related to thermo-mechanical reliability on solder joint of on-board electronics. In this study, we investigated thermo-mechanical reliability on solder joint according to the heater set-point by using commercial reliability and a life prediction tool of Sherlock based on the thermal analysis results of lunar lander that is a year of the mission lifetime.

There are many software reliability models that are based on the times of occurrences of errors in the debugging of software. It is shown that it is possible to do likelihood inference for software reliability models based on finite failure model and non-homogeneous Poisson Processes (NHPP). For someone making a decision about when to market software, the conditional failure rate is an important variables. The infinite failure model are used in a wide variety of practical situations. Their use in characterization problems, detection of outlier, linear estimation, study of system reliability, life-testing, survival analysis, data compression and many other fields can be seen from the many study. Statistical process control (SPC) can monitor the forecasting of software failure and thereby contribute significantly to the improvement of software reliability. Control charts are widely used for software process control in the software industry. In this paper, proposed a control mechanism based on NHPP using mean value function of Musa-Okumo and Power law type property.

In this paper, Fault tolerant digital governor, using duplex I/O module and triplex CPU module and also 2 out of 3 voting algorithm and adding self diagnostic ability, is designed to realize ceaseless controlling and to improve the reliability of control system. The processor module of the system(SIDG-3000) is developed based on MC68EC040 32 Bit of Motorola, which guaranteed high quality of the module ,and SRAM for data also SRAM for command are separated. The process module also includes inter process communication function and power back up function (SRAM for back-up). System reliability is estimated by using the model of Markov process. The reliability of triplex system in mission time can be improved about 1.8 times in reliability 86%. 2.8 times in 95 %, 6 times in 99 % compared with a single control system. Designed digital governor system is applied after modelling of the steam turbine generator system of Buk-Cheju Thermal Power Plant. Simulation is carried out to prove the effectiveness of the designed digital governor system

NHPP software reliability models for failure analysis can have, in the literature, exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this paper, infinite failures NHPP models that repairing software failure point in time reflects the situation, was presented for comparing property. Commonly used in the field of software reliability based on Flexible Weibull extension distribution software reliability of infinite failures was presented for comparison problem. The result is that a relatively small shaping parameter was effectively. The parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation was conducted and model selection was performed using the mean square error and the coefficient of determination.. In this research, software developers to identify software failure property follows shape parameter, some extent be able to help is considered.

The reliability used as a performance indicator during the development of space launch vehicle should be validated by the launch success probability, and the launch data need to be fed back for reliability management. In this paper, the launch data of space launch vehicles around the world were investigated and statistically analyzed for the success probabilities according to the launch vehicle models and maturity. The Bayesian estimation of launch success probability was reviewed and analyzed by comparing the estimated success probabilities using several prior distributions and the statistical success probability. We presented the method of generating prior distribution function and considerations for Bayesian estimation.
