This paper presents two results on intersymbol interferences in baseband digital communication over an additive white Gaussian noise channel-the interferences due to mismatched square-root raised-cosine filters, in which the filters have different roll-off factors, and / or due to sampling-time jitter. The result for the mismatched filters is that even the jitter-free sampling causes intersymbol interference and it is negligibly small for a wide range of signal-to-noise ratio up to 10dB, for the roll-off factor ranging from 0.2 to 0.5, the mismatch loss being within 0.1dB from the optimum at around 10-6 .For jitter interference an approximation formula for the bit error probability is derived in case of the matched filters, which shows how the roll-off factors and the amount of jitter affect the system performance. The formula is reasonably accurate.
The command processor in satellite handles the capability of the process of command transmitted from ground station and deliver the processed data to on board computer in satellite. The command processor is consisted of redundant box to increase the reliability and availability of the capability. At each command processor, the processing time of each command processor is different, so the mismatch of processing time makes it difficult to timely synchronize the reception to on board computer and even will be became worse under the command processor's fault. To minimize the tine loss induced by the command processor's fault on board computer must analyze the time distribution of command propagation. This paper presents the logic of minimizing the delay error of command propagation the logic of analyzing the output of command processor.

In this paper, we consider the quasi maximum likelihood(quasi-ML) detector which uses antenna arrays in asynchronous time-varing channels. It is shown that the proposed quasi-ml detector can be regarded as a beamformer followed by a decorrelator: a method based on the eigendecomposition of the correlation matrix of the inverse-filtered signal is proposed to estimate the channel vectors. We also show that the proposed algorithm estimates the channel vector within small mismatch loss in severe propagation environment through computer simulations.

This paper describes the development of a broadband quasi-Yagi antenna using a folded dipole driver. The antenna is designed on a low-permittivity substrate to reduce the surface wave effect, and hence the gain can be enhanced easily by adding directors. The folded dipole driver is connected to a 50-${\Omega}$ microstripline via a simple broadband microstrip-to-coplanar stripline transition with a quarter radial stub. The key motivation for the use of a folded dipole is to increase the input impedance at the driver, allowing a smaller mismatch loss between the antenna driver and the coplanar stripline feed. The proposed antenna has a measured bandwidth of 4.67~6.26 GHz for the -10 dB reflection coefficient, and a flat gain of 4.86~5.15 dB within the bandwidth.

In this paper, the narrow band-pass filter with compact-size using the ${\lambda}g/2$ open stubs is proposed. The filter size is reduced by realization of transmission line at second harmonics and at the same time the power can be transferred to the output by using the fundamental wave generated in the resonator and the transmission line in which the impedance mismatch technique is adopted. Thus, the proposed filter can be reduced to half-length of horizontal transmission line than the conventional one. The experimental results show that insertion loss is 1.58 dB and return loss is 9.86 dB, and the fractional bandwidth is 10 % at the center frequency of 5.8 GHz. The filter size is $10.34{\times}18.56\;mm2$.

In this study, the effect of a long post-deposition thermal annealing(600 and 1000 $^{\circ}C$) on the surface acoustic wave (SAW) properties of polycrystalline (poly) aluminum-nitride (AlN) thin films grown on a 3C-SiC buffer layer was investigates. The poly-AlN thin films with a (0002) preferred orientation were deposited on the substrates by using a pulsed reactive magnetron sputtering system. Experimental results show that the texture degree of AlN thin film was reduced along the increase in annealing temperature, which caused the decrease in the electromechanical coupling coefficient ($k^2$). The SAW velocity also was decreased slightly by the increase in root mean square (RMS) roughness over annealing temperature. However, the residual stress in films almost was not affect by thermal annealing process due to small lattice mismatch different and similar coefficient temperature expansion (CTE) between AlN and 3C-SiC. After the AlN film annealed at 1000 $^{\circ}C$, the insertion loss of an $IDT/AlN/3C-SiC/SiO_2/Si$ structure (-16.44 dB) was reduced by 8.79 dB in comparison with that of the as-deposited film (-25.23 dB). The improvement in the insertion loss of the film was fined according to the decrease in the grain size. The characteristics of AlN thin films were also evaluated using Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectra and X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) images.

Generally, carriers on which microwave circuits are mounted are used as building blocks of MIC module for the convenience of MIC assembly and the unit module characterization. However the interconnection of the microstrip-based carriers by wire bonding causes the serious problem of mismatch and results in the higher insertion loss as frequency becomes higher. The gap and the depth between carriers are considered as the main reason of the degradation. The CPW can be the solution to cope with such problem considering its field are dominantly concentrated on the top plane. In this paper, we propose and demonstrate the CBFGCPW to microstrip transition with the low insertion loss that can be applied without causing the MIC carrier interconnection problem.
The purpose of this study is to examine which job-related factors are associated with presenteeism, which is defined as attending work while ill. Although presenteeism is a relatively new concept in academic research, it should be regarded as an important social issue in that presenteeism threatens employees' job prospects and quality of life as well as it causes loss of work productivity. I analyzed a cross-sectional survey of 24,571 wage workers over 15 from the fourth wave of the Korean Working Conditions Survey in 2014. Five logistic regression models were analyzed on experience of presenteeism, and work hours and private life, occupational environment, job insecurity, rewards and welfare were assessed as key predictors of presenteeism. I found that 1) work hours with bad fit with private life, 2) high level of work time-pressure, and low job satisfaction 3) job insecurity, and 4) low benefits are associated with experience of presenteeism. The findings are fairly consistent with the theory of job-person mismatch, which explains that workers tend to preserve their personal resources by going to work while ill (presenteeism) when job demands or work conditions do not match with their level of personal expectation and, thus, workers are afraid of loss of personal resources. Presenteeism influences worker's long-term health and quality of life negatively as well as causes serious social costs. Therefore, we need organizational efforts to prevent the negative effects of presenteeism on society as well as workers.

In this paper, we design, fabricate and measure two kinds of high-frequency packages for K-band CMOS FMCW radar chips using RF via structures. The packages are fabricated with the conventional PCB process and LTCC process. The design centering of the packages is performed at 24 GHz and impedance variation caused by the wire bonding and RF via structure is fully evaluated using 3D electromagnetic simulation. The RF via structure with characteristic impedance of $50{\Omega}$ is used to reduce impedance mismatch loss. Two kinds of test packages with back-to-back connected RF paths are fabricated and measured for the design verification of the PCB-based package and LTCC package. Their measured results show an insertion loss of less than 0.4 dB at 24 GHz and less than 0.5 dB for 20~29 GHz. The measured return loss is less than -13 dB for the PCB-based package and less than -15 dB for the LTCC package in the frequency band, but the return loss of the package itself is predicted to be better than that of the test package by about 5 dB, because the ripples of the back-to-back connection typically degrade the return loss by 5 dB or more.

This study attempts to address the problem of 3D pose estimation for multiple human objects through a single image generated during the character development process that can be used in augmented reality. In the existing top-down method, all objects in the image are first detected, and then each is reconstructed independently. The problem is that inconsistent results may occur due to overlap or depth order mismatch between the reconstructed objects. The goal of this study is to solve these problems and develop a single network that provides consistent 3D reconstruction of all humans in a scene. Integrating a human body model based on the SMPL parametric system into a top-down framework became an important choice. Through this, two types of collision loss based on distance field and loss that considers depth order were introduced. The first loss prevents overlap between reconstructed people, and the second loss adjusts the depth ordering of people to render occlusion inference and annotated instance segmentation consistently. This method allows depth information to be provided to the network without explicit 3D annotation of the image. Experimental results show that this study's methodology performs better than existing methods on standard 3D pose benchmarks, and the proposed losses enable more consistent reconstruction from natural images.
