Taoism exercised its influence and has made much progress apparently under the aegis of the Tang dynasty. But since the external alchemy, a traditional way of eternal life that they have pursued, met the limitation, they were placed in a situation where they needed to seek a new discipline. From this period to the early North Song dynasty, three religions have established the unique theoretical systems of their own theory of ascetic practices. They showed their own unique formats as follows. Neo-Confucianism established the theory of moral training, Buddhism did the theory of ascetic practices and Taoism had theory of discipline. By this time, a person who claimed the Intermixture of Three Religions composed the new system of theory of ascetic practice by taking advantage of other religions and putting them into his own view. Chen tuan established the theory of internal alchemy of Taoism and was the most influential figure in the world of thought since North Song dynasty. He clearly declared that he accepted the merits of other religions in his theory. He added I Ching of Confucianism in I Ching of secret of Taoism to stop the logical gaps during the process of disciplines in Taoism and took ascetic practices on mind of Buddhism into his system while he sought a way to integrate the dual structure of body and mind. The theory of Chen tuan's internal alchemy was training schema with stages of 'YeonJeongHwaGi', 'YeonGiHwaSin', and 'YeonSinHwanHeo' based on the concepts of vital, energy and spirit. The internal alchemy practice that Chen tuan was saying started from the practice of Zen to keep the mind calm with the basis of fundamental principles of interpretation of book of change according to Taoism. When a person reached the state to be in concert with all changes at the end of the silence and be full of wisdoms, he finally returned to the state of BokGwiMuGeuk by taking the flow of subtle mind and transforming it into energy. He expressed this process by drawing 'MuGeukDo'. Oriental philosophy categorized human into 'phenomenal existence' and 'original existence'. The logic of theory of ascetic practice has been established from these 'category of existence'. It would be determined whether it will return to 'original existence' or be stepped up from 'phenomenal existence' according to how the concept of 'self' or 'I' was made. Chen tuan who established the theory of internal alchemy in Taoism has established the unique theory of internal alchemy discipline and system of intermixture of three religions in this aspect. Today is called 'era of self-loss' or 'era of incurable diseases' caused by environmental pollution. It's still meaningful to review the theory of discipline of Chen tuan's connecting the body and the soul to heal the self, and keep life healthy and pursue the new way of discipline based on it.
In this paper, we have studied the ways to enhance students' interest in infant math education. Firstly, we explain to the students the relation between the infant math skills and the college math contents. Next, the students practiced the subject about the infant education and the infant math education in real environment. Finally, the results of the practice are analyzed. From this study, we could find that the students got good experiences in infant math education activities and had the chance to change their mind in affirmative way for the infant math education and mathematics itself through performing given projects and investigations.
In today's information-rich society, the need for information literacy has urgency. Three tasks of information processing are filtering, meaning-matching, meaning-construction that could be strengthened through inquiry-based learning. The cycles of reflection and practice develop the habit of mind, or conscious information processing that allow the learners to acquire higher level of information literacy. An on-line inquiry-based learning environment designed for information literacy may help learners to perform their lifelong learning better with the ability to appreciate, locate, evaluate, and use information effectively.
This study examined the antenatal care known as Taekyo. The sample consisted of 795 women and 564 men who had be seen in the antenatal care unit, delivery room, or postpartal care unit of general hospitals in Korea between March 20 and April 22, 1995. Data were collected using the "Taekyo questionnaire for childbearing women" and "Taekyo questionnaire for husbands of childbearing women" developed by researchers. Data were self-reported. Data were analyzed using the SPSS PC+ program, and descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient were applied. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Encouragement to practice Taekyo was at a relatively high level. Items on Taekyo encouraging behaviors had a mean score of 3.51(33 items 5 point scale). According to the five categories of Taekyo encouraging behaviors, subjects indicated they practice "food intake(mean score 4.02)". "praying(mean score 3.78)", "cumulative virtuous deeds (mean score 3.58)". "mind and body management(mean score 3.47)", "maternal fetal interaction(mean score 3.15)". 2. The childbearing women's practices related to forbidden behaviors by Taekyo were relatively high. Item on forbidden behaviors by Taekyo had a mean score 3.71(43 items 5 point scale). According to the five categories of forbidden behaviors by Taekyo, subjects indicated they practiced "voluntary abstention of drugs(mean score 4.78)," avoiding behaviors(mean score 4.78)," avoiding behaviors(mean score 3.77), "good behaviors(mean score 3.71)", "taboo on fetal death tendency (mean score 3.53)", "taboo on certain intake(mean score 3.47)". 3. The practice score of husbands for childbearing women which related to Taekyo behaviors were relatively high. Item on Taekyo behaviors had a mean score 3.59(33 items 5 point scale). According to the six categories of Taekyo behavior, subjects indicated they practiced "mind and body management(mean score 3.94)", "praying(mean score 3.80)", "support of women’s practice related to Taekyo(mean score 3.66)", "good behaviors(mean score 3.58)", "continency(mean score 3.33)", "paternal fetal interaction (mean score 3.19)". 4. On the childbearing women's perception of Taekyo, most of the subjects(88%) had confidence in the positive effects of Taekyo on Child development. The result showed that the childbearing couples practiced Taekyo behavior relatively often and sincerely and most of the childbearing women had a positive perception of Taekyo's effect on prenatal child development.
A Study about the Effect of the Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong Therapy in Bariatrics. The purpose of this study is to find out what effects the practice of Qi-Gong shows in controlling obese that is one of the main causes of adult disease. In this study, the researchers chose some overweight or obese subjects over 17 years and divided them into two groups, and gave 4 weeks of twelve treatments to one group with Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong therapy developed by Hong Seong-Gyun in Kwang-Dong, and did not give any treatment to another group. And the effects were evaluated by comparative analysis. Before and after the treatments, the researchers measured the height, weight, body fat, BMI(Body Mass Index), hip size, etc. of two groups of them. And the health condition and eating habits of each persons of the two groups were examined before the experiment, and the difference of eating habits between the two groups was investigated in the course of the experiment, and the effects of the therapy that the treated group felt is investigated with an questionnaire sheet after the experiment. The following shows the result of the comparative analysis about the experiment 1. The result of the experiment about the effect of Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong therapy treated to control overweight or obese shows that : a) The height, body weight, BMI, body fat index, chest size did not make any statistically meaningful difference. b) The measurements of hip, waist, forearms, thighs, calves, and ankles made meaningful differences. 2. In the course of the experiment, the eating habits of the two groups did not make any significant difference except the frequency of dining together. 3. The effect of Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong therapy for the group that was given 12 treatments shows that : a) Regarding the change of their defecation, 81% of the subjects in the treated group said 'Yes' and 19% said 'No', that is most of subjects answered positively. b) Before the experiment, three subjects of the treated group had been taking medicine, but after the practice of Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong therapy, they appeared to stop taking medicine. c) 87% of subjects in the treated group said that they 'feel well' after he practice, 13% said that they 'did not feel well', that is most of subjects were satisfied with Kwang-Dong Qi-Gong therapy. d) 81% of subjects in the treated group replied that they 'feel peaceful in mind' after the practice, 19% replied that they 'did not feel peaceful in mind.'
Character means a person's nature and the mind and behavior to lead a desirable life personally and socially. Also character can be changed with education and environment. Therefore character education will be possible to do practice through various educational activities and life experiences in school. In other words, we think that students will get person's character required to lead a desirable life personally and socially beyond what they just learn knowledge and skill, enter the higher schools and succeed one's way. This study accepts merits of existing character education policy through subject(mathematics) education and focus on direction for character education through subject(mathematics) education for systematic and synthetic approach for practice of character education. For this, we will see applicability of the plan for character education in the whole subject education, in particular focusing on cases of character education in mathematics subject.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate Toegye's simhak in relation to spiritualism. In general, we call Chu Hsi's learning "lihak" (the learning of principle) while Wang Yangming's learning is described as "simhak" (the learning of mind). However, we sometimes call Toegye's learning "simhak" in spite of his respect for Chu Hsi's philosophy of li. Toegye's simhak is different from Wang Yangming's. Nonetheless, Toegye too, highlighted the existential meaning of truth. Toegye regarded simgyung (the book of mind) as one of the most important classics for self-cultivation. As is well known, Toegye's main concern was concentration on mind and heart cultivation. Toegye understood li as a spiritual being, which can actualize itself. The goal of simhak is to become a sage. For a sage, there is no contradiction between moral norm and human desire. To become a sage, Toegye developed the theory and practice of mind cultivation. Toegye's simhak has some common characteristics with Louis Lavelle's philosophy of spiritualism. Both Toegye and Louis Lavelle lay great emphasis on self reflection and spiritual life. In particular, Toegye developed the concrete method of mind cultivation. In the 21st century, human beings are confronted with spiritual crisis in many aspects. Toegye's simhak can be advanced as useful wisdom to keep one's mind in a peaceful and harmonious state.

In this paper, we will introduce IPP (Industry Professional Practice) model which is a unique Korean long-term co-op (co-operative) education model developed and will be implemented by Korea Tech. IPP model is designed to make up for the weak points of the existing short-term job training system and to fit Korean educational environment by benchmarking North America co-op model that has 100 years of history, and it will be supported by the Korean government (Ministry of Employment and Labor) unlike other existing co-op systems in Korea. In order to be a successful IPP program, it is required of companies' active participation to this program with open mind, and university's investment on IPP infrastructure such as concrete academic system design and IPP center, etc.
The purpose of this study was to examine effects of practicing martial arts upon job performance of employees engaged in security industry. For positive investigation, 400 employees were questioned using some questionnaires; as a result, we obtained the following conclusion of the relation between the extent of the practicing martial art and the ability of performing their jobs. First, the more they practice martial art, the better and higher their mental health and psychological stability more than control group. Especially, when crime is reported to them or they arrest a criminal taken in an act of crime, the degree of their anxiety was low and they strongly expose self-confidence, their view of moral achievement and their sense of morality. Second, the more they practice martial art, the higher their ability of arrestment a criminal in an act and self-defense is. Because practicing martial art make their vital power and physical strength promoted. Third, the more they practice martial art, the more sincere the trust and friendship among colleagues are. As well they seem to feel strong solidarity oneanother. But practicing martial art appeared that it doesnt have an effect on coping with complications among generations and the gaps between master sergeant and them. Fourth, employees engaged in security industry practicing martial art is not only used in job performance merely as a technique; it is also effective on the mind that it make their anxiety dissolved and give them self-confidence.
