This paper presents an optimization process using Genetic Algorithm (GA) for minimum weight by selecting suitable standard sections from a specified list taken from American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The stress constraints obeying AISC-LRFD (American Institute of Steel Construction-Load and Resistance Factor Design), lateral displacement constraints being the top and inter-storey drift, mid-span deflection constraints for the beams and geometric constraints are considered for optimum design by using GA that mimics biological processes. Optimum designs for three different space frames taken from the literature are carried out first without considering concrete slab effects in finite element analyses for the constraints above and the results are compared with the ones available in literature. The same optimization procedures are then repeated for the case of space frames with composite (steel and concrete) beams. A program is coded in MATLAB for the optimization processes. Results obtained in the study showed that consideration of the contribution of the concrete on the behavior of the floor beams results with less steel weight and ends up with more economical designs.

This work proposes a new efficient meta-heuristic optimization algorithm called Gamma Ray Interactions Based Optimization (GRIBO). The algorithm mimics different energy loss processes of a gamma-ray photon during its passage through a matter. The proposed novel algorithm has been applied to search for the global minima of 30 standard benchmark functions. The paper also considers solving real optimization problem in the field of nuclear engineering, radioisotope identification. The results are compared with those obtained by the Particle Swarm Optimization, Genetic Algorithm, Gravitational Search Algorithm and Grey Wolf Optimizer algorithms. The comparisons indicate that the GRIBO algorithm is able to provide very competitive results compared to other well-known meta-heuristics.

This paper proposes an augmented reality technique to generate acrobatic scenes from hitting motion videos. After a user shoots a motion that mimics hitting an object with hands or feet, their pose is analyzed using motion tracking with deep learning to track hand or foot movement while hitting the object. Hitting position and time are then extracted to generate the object's moving trajectory using physics optimization and synchronized with the video. The proposed method can create videos for hitting objects with feet, e.g. soccer ball lifting; fists, e.g. tap ball, etc. and is suitable for augmented reality applications to include virtual objects.

Babesiosis, caused by Babesia microti and B. divergens, is transmitted by Ixodid ticks. Symptoms of babesiosis vary from a mild flu-like illness to acute, severe, and sometimes fatal and fulminant disease. In Korea, 7 imported babesiosis cases and 1 endemic case have been reported. We report 2 cases of severe babesiosis initially mistaken as malaria. The first patient was complicated by shock and splenic infarction, the other co-infected with Lyme disease. As the population traveling abroad increases every year, physicians should be aware of babesiosis which mimics malaria, co-infection with other diseases, and its complications.

This study presents a case of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in a 58-year-old man showing unusual manifestations mimicking chronic osteomyelitis. In this case review, we describe the imaging findings of DLBCL which mimics chronic osteomyelitis and review existing reports regarding the differential diagnosis of bone involvement of lymphoma and osteomyelitis through imaging and laboratory findings and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) such as the advanced MRI sequence.

Intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia or Masson's hemangioma is a rare vascular tumor. The reactive proliferation of endothelial cells in this disease mimics other benign or malignant vascular proliferation such as angiosarcoma or Kaposi's sarcoma. It is important to make an accurate distinction to avoid confusion with these malignant tumors. This would facilitate a proper diagnosis, which is essential so that the patient is not subjected to unnecessarily aggressive or inappropriate treatment.

Bisphenol A (BPA) mimics estrogen and its activity is one third to one quarter that of estradiol. BPA, an ubiquitous environmental contaminent has been shown to cause development reproductive toxicity and carcinogenic effect. BPA may do physiological action through ER$\alpha$ and ER$\beta$ which are expressed in central nerve system. We previously found that expose of BPA to immature mice resulted in behavial alternation, suggesting that overexposure of BPA could be neurotoxic. (omitted)

To operate an underwater robot in an environment with fluid flow, it is necessary to recognize the speed and direction of the fluid and implement motion control based on these characteristics. Fish have a lateral line that performs this function. In this study, to develop an artificial lateral line sensor that mimics a fish, we developed a method to measure the flow speed and the incident angle of the fluid using a pressure sensor. Several experiments were conducted, and based on the results, the tendency according to the change in the flow speed and the incident angle of the fluid was confirmed. It is believed that additional research can aid in the development of an artificial lateral line sensor.

This research outlines the motivations behind the fan-lead marketing and promotional endeavours undertaken by musical group BTS's fan community, also known as ARMY. In highlighting the reciprocity in intimacy between the group and their fans, I argue that ARMY's desire to elevate BTS is embedded within structures of affect, despite the financial nature of the benefits the group and their company may reap. These fan-lead initiatives represent efforts towards a common goal, where success, whether it comes in the form of money or not, is a gift of gratitude and a show of mutual understanding from fans to BTS. Based on data from 22 interviews with fans, this research explores the motivations behind fan-lead marketing by looking at the affective properties of music consumption, the parasocial relationship, fan community dynamics, and the purchase of intimacy. Within these contexts, the promotion surrounding BTS's music, as organized by the fans, mimics profit-oriented behaviours but is ultimately a gesture towards the exchange of intimacy between fans and artist.

A diagnosis of an intracranial aneurysm depends on the angiographic configuration and should be cautiously differentiated from aneurysm mimics. In cases of duplicate anterior choroidal arteries (AChAs), infundibular widening of the distal minor AChA can be an aneurysm mimic. If the minor AChA with a smaller diameter is obscured angiographically due to poor contrast filling, an associated infundibular widening beside the proximal large AChA can misinterpreted as a typical AChA aneurysm in angiograms. The authors report on two such cases of duplicate AChAs with infundibular widening presenting like a typical AChA aneurysm in angiograms. Surgical exploration revealed a perforating artery emitting from the dome of the saccular lesion, confirming infundibular widening of a duplicate AChA. No reparative procedure was applied to the infundibular widening in a 48-year-old man, while two vascular outpouchings from the infundibular widening were clipped preserving the duplicate AChA in a 55-year-old woman.
