수분 스트레스가 루브라오리나무 묘목의 균근발달과 생장에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Water Stress on Ectomycorrhizal Development and Growth of Alnus rubra Seedlings)

  • 수분 스트레스가 루브라오리나무(Alnus rubra) 묘목의 균근(Alpova diplophloeus) 발달과 생장에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 5일 주기의 수분 스트레스를 10주 동안 처리한 결과 A. diplophloeus 균근의 형성, 묘목의 생리활동 및 생장이 감소하였다. A. diplophloeus 균근균이 접종된 묘목과 접종되지 않은 묘목은 수분 스트레스에 관계없이 생리활동이나 생장에서 차이가 없었다. 질소고정활동은 탄소동화작용보다 수분스트레스에 덜 민감하였다. 이 결과는 수분스트레스 상태에서 A. diplophloeus 균근은 오리나무의 적응도(fitness)에 기여하지 못함을 의미한다.

  • A two-dimensional direct numerical simulation is performed to investigate the flame structure of $CH_4/N_2-Air$ counterflow nonpremixed flame interacting with a single vortex. The detailed transport properties and a modified 16-step augmented reduced mechanism based on Miller and Bowman's detailed reaction mechanism are adopted in this calculation. To quantify the strain on flame induced by a vortex, a scalar dissipation rate (SDR) is introduced. Results show that the fuel and air-side vortex cause an unsteady extinction. In this case, the flame interacting with a vortex is extinguished at much larger SDR than steady flame. It is also found that air-side vortex extinguishes a flame more rapidly than fuel-side vortex. The unsteady effect induced by flame-vortex interaction does not lead to a transient OH overshoot of the maximum steady concentration observed in experiment, while $HO_2$ radical increases more than the maximum steady concentration with increasing SDR. In addition, it is seen that NO and $NO_2$ are not sensitive to the unsteady variation of SDR.

  • 생약식물로서 중약한 위치를 점하고 있는 구기자의 전지정도에 따른 품질 및 수량반응을 구명하기 위하여 1982 ~ '83년 2개년에 걸쳐 "진도재래"를 공시시험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 구기자의 개화반응은 맹모 - 황엽 - 낙엽 - 개화의 일련의 단계를 거쳐 개화되었고, 2. 무전지구에 비해 전지구가 간장이 길고 그에 따른 절수도 많았으며 총 유효분지수가 많아 수량에 영향을 주었다. 3. 무전지구에서는 과정이 짧아 과실이 잘고 전지구는 과정이 길고 굵은 충실한 과실이 생산되어 상품가치가 높았다. 4. 10 a 당 수량은 무전지 방치구(76kg)에 비하여 지표면 전지구와 지표면 10 cm 전지구에서 38 ~ 39%의 증수효과가 있어 구기자는 모년 무전하여 재배하는 것이 바람직하다고 사료된다. 5. 구기자 수확회수별 수량은 2회 수확으로 생산량의 85%를 수확할 수 있어 수학노력 절감이 앞으로의 과제라 하겠다.

Correlations of Rice Grain Yields to Radiometric Estimates of Canopy Biomass as a Function of Growth Stage, : Hand-Held Radiometric Measurements of Two of the Thematic Mapper's Spectral Bands Indicate that the Forecasting of Rice Grain Yields is Feasible at Early to Mid Canopy Development Stages

  • Considerable experience has been reported on the use of spectral data to measure the canopy biomass of dryland grain crops and the use of these estimates to forecast subsequent grain yield. These basic procedures were retested to assess the use of the general process to forecasting grain yield for paddy rice. The use of the ratio of a multiband radiometer simulation of Thematic Mapper band 4(.76 to .90 .mu.m) divided by band 3 (.63 to .69 .mu.m) was tested to estimate the canopy biomass of paddy rice as a function of the stage of development of the rice. The correlation was found to be greatest (R = .94) at panicle differentiation about midway through the development cycle of the rice canopy. The use of this ratio of two spectral bands as a surrogate for canopy biomass was then tested for its correlation against final grain yield. These spectral estimates of canopy biomass produced the highest correlations with final grain yield (R = .87) when measured at the canopy development stages of panicle differentiation and heading. The impact of varying the amounts of supplemental nitrogen on the use of spectral measuremants of canopy biomass to estimate grain yield was also determined. The effect of the development of a significant amount of weed biomass in the rice canopy was also clearly detected.

고자기장용 자석을 위한 밀폐순환형 냉각장치 (Closed-Loop Cooling System for High Field Mangets)

  • A closed-loop cryogenic cooling system for high field magnets is presented. This design is motivated by our recent development of cooling system for 21 tesla Fourier Transform ion Cyclotron Resonance (FT-ICR) superconducting magnets without any replenishment of cryogen. The low temperature superconducting magnets are immersed in a subcooled 1.8 K bath, which is connected hydraulically to the 4.2 K reservoir through a narrow channel. Saturated liquid helium is cooled by Joule-Thomson heat exchanger and flows through the JT valve, isenthalpically dropping its pressure to approximately 1 6 kPa, corresponding saturation temperature of 1.8 K. Helium gas exhausted from pump is now recondensed by two-stage cryocooler located after vapor purify system. The amount of cryogenic Heat loads and required mass flow rate through closed-loop are estimated by a relevant heat transfer analysis, from which dimensions of JT heat exchanger and He II heat exchanger are determined. The detailed design of cryocooler heat exchanger for helium recondensing is performed. The effect of cryogenic loads, especially superfluid heat leak through the gap of weight load relief valve, on the dimensions of cryogenic system is also investigated.

보리의 건조특성(乾燥特性)과 건조온도(乾燥温度) 및 함수율(含水率)이 정맥수율(精麥收率)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Drying Characteristics of Barley and the Effect of Moisture Content and Drying Temperature on Milling Recovery)

  • This study was to examine the drying characteristics of barley and the effect of moisture content of barley on milling performance. A barley variety, Jogang, having 35.0% of initial moisture content was used for this experiment. Thermo-hydrostatic dryer which consists of blower, condensor, heater, humidifier, drying chamber and control box, etc., was used for the drying experiment. The change in the weight of a barley sample was continuously measured by means of the ring type load cell installed inside the drying chamber. Milling test runs the samples having the predetermined moisture content were taken from each drying test run. A laboratory type barley miller was used for the milling test. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The drying constants (k) applied for the thin layer drying model, (M-Me)/(Mo-Me) = $Ae^{-kt}$ were 0.155, 0.259 and 0.548, respectively, at the three levels of drying temperatures, $40^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$. The drying constants complied with the Arrhenius Equation, K = Ko exp (-C/T), were determined as $Ko=1.901455{\times}10^8$ and C = 6563. 2. The laboratory milling test indicated that the highest milled and head barley recovery was resulted from the sample which was dryed at $40^{\circ}C$. In general, the increase in the drying temperature from $40^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$ indicated a negative effect on milling yields. 3. Also, the sample having 15% M.C. presented the highest milled and head barley recovery among the five moisture content levels (12, 15, 18,21 and 24%).

  • 국제해사기구(IMO)에서는 선박으로부터의 대기오염방지를 위한 규제와 여기에 더하여 지구온난화의 방지를 위한 규제가 이미 시행되고 있거나 또는 논의 중에 있다. 따라서 고효율 친환경에 대한 요구들을 동시에 만족시킬 수 있는 대책이 요구된다. 디젤엔진에 있어서 밀러 사이클의 채택이 NOx 저감과 열효율향상을 동시에 꾀할 수 있는 방법으로 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 높은 급기압력이 요구되며 그 대책의 하나로 2단과급에 의한 방법이 주목을 받고 있다. 2단 과급시스템을 이용하면 고과급의 효과는 물론 여기에 바이패스기술과 밀러사이클을 이용하면 특정 부하영역에서의 성능향상 등 더욱 다양한 성능개선을 이룩할 수 있다. 그러나 2단 과급시스템의 디젤기관은 그만큼 구조가 복잡하게 되어 과급기 최적 매칭 등 시스템의 최적설계가 매우 복잡하고 어렵게 된다. 따라서 설계초기단계에서 이러한 다양한 방법들의 개선효과를 정량적으로 확인하고 또한 최적조건을 검토할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 과급 시스템의 최적 설계를 위한 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 개발 된 프로그램의 신뢰성을 확인하고 이 프로그램의 활용방법에 관하여 고찰한 결과를 보고한다.

Study on the hypochlolesterolemic and antioxidative effects of tyramine derivatives from the root bark of Lycium chenese Miller

  • The aim of the present study was to investigate the hypocholesterolemic effect and potential of tyramine derivatives from Lycii Cortex Radicis (LCR), the root bark of lycium (Lycium chenese Miller) in reducing lipid peroxidation. The activities of enzymes, hepatic 3-hydroxy 3-methylglutaryl (HMG) CoA reductase and acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) and LDL oxidation were measured in vitro and animal experiments were also performed by feeding LCR extracts to rats. The test compounds employed for in vitro study were trans-N-p-coumaroyltyramine (CT) and trans-N-feruloyltyramine (FT), LCR components, N-(p-coumaroyl)serotonin (CS) and N-feruloylserotonin (FS) from safflower seeds, ferulic acid (FA) and 10-gingerol. It was observed that FT and FS at the concentration of 1.2 mg/mL inhibited liver microsomal HMG CoA reductase activity by ~40%, but no inhibition of activity was seen in the cases of CT, CS, FA and 10-gingerol. Whereas, ACAT activity was inhibited ~50% by FT and CT, 34-43% by FS and CS and ~80% by 10-gingerol at the concentration of 1 mg/mL. A significant delay in LDL oxidation was induced by CT, FT, and 10-gingerol. For the animal experiment, five groups of Sprague-Dawley male rats were fed high fat diets containing no test material (HF-control), 1 and 2% of LCR ethanol extract (LCR1 and LCR2), and 1% of extracts from safflower seed (Sat) and ginger (Gin). The results indicated that total cholesterol level was significantly lower in Saf, LCR2 and Gin groups, and HDL cholesterol level was lower only in Gin group when compared with HF-control group; while there was no difference in the serum triglyceride levels among the five experimental groups. The level of liver cholesterol was significantly lower in LCR1 and LCR2 groups than HF-control Serum levels of TBARS were significantly lower only in LCR2 group when compared with HF-control group. From the observed results, we concluded that LCR can be utilized as a hypocholesterolemic ingredient in combination with ginger, especially for functional foods.

숙도 및 저장온도가 생대추의 저장적성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Maturity and Storage Temperature on Preservation of Fresh Jujube)

  • 당도와 ascorbic acid함량이 높은 우수한 신선 과일인 생대추를 장기간 저장하기 위하여 숙도 및 저장온도에 따른 무등품종 대추의 호흡특성, 저장 중 품질변화를 측정하였다. 녹숙 대추와 적숙 대추의 숙도에 따라서 호흡속도는 차이가 없어서 non-climacteric특성으로 간주될 수 있었고, 호흡의 온도의존성에서도 숙도간에 차이가 없었다. 적숙 대추가 녹숙 대추에 비해서 단위과중이 약간 크며, 가용성 고형분 농도와 ascorbic acid 함량이 약간 높았다. 대추는 저장 중 조직의 연화가 먼저 나타난 후 부패가 진행되었다. 대추의 저장 중 연화 및 부패의 진행은 녹숙대추의 경우가 적숙대추에 비해서 늦어서 장기저장을 위해서는 녹숙대추를 저장하는 것이 유리하였다. 저장 중 녹숙 대추의 표면색택은 붉은 색으로 착색이 진행되고 가용성 고형분은 증가하고, 총산과 ascorbic acid 함량은 감소하였다. $-2^{\circ}C,\;0^{\circ}C,\;5^{\circ}C,\;10^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C$에서의 녹숙 대추의 저장실험에서는 $-2^{\circ}C$에서는 저온장해가 발생하였고, $5^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서는 온도가 높을수록 품질변화와 부패가 빨라서, $0^{\circ}C$가 저장적온으로 판단되었다. 저장적온인 $0^{\circ}C$에서 대추는 40일정도 밖에 신선한 상태로 저장될 수 없어서 보다 장기간의 저장이 가능한 포장 기법의 적용이 필요한 것으로 평가되었다.
