Middleware for mobile devices, embedded middleware, is used for mobile devices, cellular phone and DMB related services. It is essential for middleware providers to provide high quality middleware in conformity with its standard and interoperability on hardware platforms. The standard conformance and interoperability of embedded middleware are the key factors to make service providers succeed in their business. The quality of embedded middleware could be secured when Tests for the standard conformance and interoperability of embedded middleware are performed with well established test framework. In this paper, we describe middleware testing methodology of standard conformance, interoperability and middleware test framework for mobile devices.

For widespread adoption for the RFID technology, RFID middleware is considered as the key enabler of the RFID evolution while it manages the flow of data between tag readers and enterprise applications and is responsible for the quality, and therefore usability, of the information. In this paper, we introduce the recent researches and developments of RFID middleware and explain the software framework of the RFID middleware which is currently developed in ETRI. In this paper, we propose a design and implementation of Home Network Middleware which offer integrated service of electronic products. Most senior nations setting to core paradigm to ubiquitous computing techniques and effort to get the novel information and making more power about information techniques. But, they don't have a skill to Home Network Middleware in electronic products. It is a more important in Home Network Middleware. So, we will try to study about Home Network Middleware skill. And suggest to proposition that is a novel Home Network Middleware.

We build middleware architecture with J2EE and LiveGraph to process different ubiquitous healthcare application's data and process that data into useful information, which can play a most important role in decision making in ubiquitous Healthcare System. Application developers mostly rely on third party middleware, tools and libraries (i.e., webservers, distributed middleware such as CORBA, etc.) to respond the emerging trends of their target domain. With this middleware we tried to enhance the efficiency of application by decrease their memory uses, data processing and decision making on another web module which is independent of each application. For middleware system, we proposed an algorithm by which we can find some important conclusion about different health status likewise ECG, Accelerometer. etc., which can be used in various data processing and determine the current health status. In this paper we also analyze some different low level and high level middleware technology which were used to build different kind middleware likewise CAMUS, MiLAN and try to find the best solution in the form of middleware for Ubiquitous Healthcare Information System.

본 논문에서는 지능형 홈 네트워크 디바이스간의 상호연동 미들웨어 Adaptor를 설계하였다. 홈 네트워크 상호연동 미들웨어 Adaptor는 UPnP, LonWorks, LnCP, HAVi 등 다양한 형태의 미들웨어가 존재하고, 다수의 미들웨어를 연동하기 위해서는 기존 시스템을 수정이 필요하지만, 본 논문에서 설계한 상호연동 미들웨어 Adaptor는 다수의 미들웨어를 기존 시스템에 별도의 수정 없이 연동이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 설계한 상호연동 미들웨어 Adaptor에 대한 성능을 평가하기 위해 다양한 업체에서 생산한 디바이스를 이용하여 실험 장치를 구현하였고, 개발한 상호연동 미들웨어 Adaptor가 내장된 모바일 앱 프로그램을 개발하여 성능을 평가하였다.

This paper proposes a middleware structure for the module-based personal robot, which can run on heterogeneous network interfaces and provides users easy interface-method regardless of underlying heterogeneous interfaces and convenient exchange of modules. The proposed middleware is divided into three layers of a streaming layer (SL), a network adaptation layer (NAL) and a network interface layer (NIL). The streaming layer manages application transactions using middleware services and provides user a uniform interfaces to the proposed middleware. The network adaptation layer manages a message-routing and provides naming service and it is a core of the proposed middleware. And the network interfaces layer manages dependent parts of heterogeneous network interfaces such as IEEE1394, USB, Ethernet, and CAN (Control Area Network). This paper implements the proposed middleware structure, where 3 types of interfaces of IEEE 1394, USB and Ethernet are used, and measures response times among those interfaces.

The concept of middleware for digital TV receivers is not new one. Using middleware for digital TV development has a number of advantages. It makes it easier for manufacturers to hide differences in the underlying hardware. It also offers a standard platform for application developers. Digital TV middleware enables set-top boxes(STBs) to run video, audio, and applications. The main concern of digital TV middleware is now to reduce its memory usage because most STBs in the market are small footprint. In this paper, we propose several ideas about how to reduce the required memory size on the runtime area of DTV middleware using a new native process technology. Our proposed system has two components; the Efficient Native Process Module, and Enhanced Native Interface APIs for concurrent native modules. With our approach, the required memory reduced from 50% up to 75% compared with the traditional approach. It can be suitable for low end STBs of very low hardware limitation.

기존의 미들웨어 시스템은 유선 환경을 중심으로 개발되었기 때문에 미들웨어 및 관련 응용 프로그램들의 규모 또는 운용성이 크다. 따라서 이동 단말의 CPU 및 메모리 등 하드웨어 자원의 취약성과 네트워크의 낮은 대역폭을 가진 무선 이동성 환경에 적용하기 어렵다는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해서 미들웨어 응용 및 실행 단위가 모바일 환경에 적합하게 최소 및 최적화되고 이동시에도 끊어짐 없는 서비스를 제공하기 위한 경량 모바일 미들웨어 시스템인 "LightMware"시스템을 설계 및 제안한다.

Wireless sensor networks need middleware system for efficiently managing the constrained resource and sensing data because they need different sensing data type and protocol to communicate with heterogeneous sensor networks. Thus this paper proposes data-centric sensor middleware for heterogeneous sensor networks. The proposed middleware have to support various query processing of user applications, high-level request of users, manage heterogeneous sensor systems and universal sensing data type for node and user application.

We propose the sensor networks middleware based on publish/subscribe model for adaptive service to client. Publish/subscribe middleware make capability of sensor to data through the advertisement message. Based on capability of sensor, Publish/subscribe middleware adaptively service to client. And client make a collection of information that it require. Therefore middleware service more effectively.
