  • Aim of this research is suggesting a satisfied studying space for lecturer, student and curriculum by abstraction of improvement plan which based on investigation and analysis of the space that teacher is using in lecturer and study support facility in school which managed in 'Department system'. This research focused on analyse of teacher's laboratory, teacher's room, and common room in middle and high school which managed and designed by 'Department system' and registered on 'Seoul office of education' and designed in management of department system between 2009 and 2012. With these process, a conclusion of this research is as in the following. Firstly, plan of teachers' private place which is efficient and stable is required through to get out of module which can cover subject band and grade band. Secondly, we have to focus on size of teachers' convenience facilities for convenience or official usage, movement radius, and improvement of working environments. Thirdly, 'Subject type teachers' laboratory' which organized by teachers who teach same subject is more efficient than 'Task type laboratory' which organized by teachers who working on same task for management of school. In fourth, 'Task type teachers' laboratory' arranged regardless with teachers' class room to teach, and it makes lack of connectivity between teacher and class room.

  • This study examined the influences of middle school students' affective empathy and guilt-proneness on defending behavior against bullying and investigated if class climate (teacher support and student support) had moderating effects. The participants consisted of 163 second to third grade students (77 boys and 86 girls) in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and hierarchical regression. Moderating effects were examined using multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicated that guilt-proneness, teacher support, and student support had significant effects on the defending behavior of middle school students. The higher the level of guilt-proneness, the higher the level of defending behavior. Defending behavior was also higher when students perceived a belongingness to a classroom where their teacher and students provided support. However, affective empathy had no effect on defending behavior. Second, teacher support moderated the relation between guilt-proneness and defending behavior. The effects of guilt-proneness on defending behavior against bullying were greater when teacher support was high compared to low. The results suggested that guilt-proneness and classroom climate play important roles in increasing defending behavior in middle school students. Some implications for future research were also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis the horizontal distance of COM and COP and the movement patterns of COM and COP during the badminton high-clear of woman middle school student. The select variables used in the statistical analyses(independent sample T-test) were the horizontal distance of COM and COP at (E4), and the maximum COM displacement of the back-, forward-, whole-swing phases between expert and novice groups. Based on the results in this study, it was concluded that: First, expert group showed the shorter horizontal distance between COM and COP in anteroposterior axis (X-axis) at Event 4 compared to the novice group. Second, expert group dominantly used COM vertical movement while novice group actively used COM horizontal movement during the badminton high-clear stroke.

  • The purpose of this study is to define performance assessment of mathematics, to make a model of performance task of mathematics for the first grade middle school students in higher group, to examine validity and reliability of performance task and to investigate the effects on the students' achievement and attitude. It first defines performance assessment and exanmines its main features and scoring methods. Based on these, nine performance assessment tasks and scoring criteria were designed for the first grade middle school students in higher group. The validity of performance tasks were examined by experts. The loaming achievement and mathematical attitude test between two groups were performed as pre and post test. The thinking of students about performance assessment was investigated by attitude survey. The results of this study are as follows: First, the validity of the performance tasks is very high. Second, The control group. Forth, there is a difference in student's attitude about mathematics between scorer reliability was high due to the scorer training. Third, there is little difference in teaming achievement between experimental and experimental and control group in 5% meaningful levels. That is, student's of both groups attitude about mathematics comes negatives, but the width of change of negative attitude in experimental group is less than control group. In the trend of negative attitude of mathematics as grade comes higher, this results showed that performance assessment of mathematics had positive influence on attitude of mathematics. The result of survey about mathematical performance assessment experience showed that students have positive attitude to performance assessment and recognized effectiveness of the performance assessment of mathematics.

Methods: Fifty-eight students died due to accidents during the period 1988 through 2007. Data were obtained from the Seoul School Safety and Insurance Association, and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. Chi-square, t-test, and ANCOVA were used in the data analysis. Results: Among students, 75.9% were male and 37.9% were high school students. Accidental mortality was 1.61 per one million students (2.33 for male, and 0.82 for female students, and 0.93, 2.13 and 2.31 for elementary, middle and high school students, respectively). Mortality caused by drowning and falls per one million student was 0.85 and 0.74 for male, and 0.23 and 0.35 for female students. After age, year and cause were adjusted using ANCOVA, the mean compensation payment was 40,615 thousand won for male, and 62,000 thousands for female students. Highest compensation payment was 127,137 thousand for cerebral concussion after age, gender, year and cause were adjusted. Conclusion: To decrease student accidental mortality, especially drowning and falls, development of efficient safety-enforcing education is essential to prevent injuries and avoid preventable compensation costs.

Methods: The subjects were 135 teachers who had were working in the middle or high school in Korea. Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire, 2011. Data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. Results: There was a positive relationship between information seeking behavior and Willingness for education about HPV vaccination. There were differences in Willingness for education according to necessity of HPV vaccination for premarital women above 16-year old and marital women below 45-year old, and necessity of education for students. The Willingness for education were predicted by information seeking behavior, groups who HPV vaccination is necessary to premarital women above 16-year old, and HPV vaccination education for student is necessary. These variables explained 25.0% of the variance of the Willingness for education about HPV vaccination. Conclusion: The Willingness for education about HPV vaccination among middle or high school teachers could be improved by the emphasis of the preception that HPV vaccination is necessary to middle or high school students and is related to the prevention of cervical cancer.

  • Most of the students in middle and high schools today wear school uniforms. The school uniform is the most important and intimate clothes in adolescences and makes students feel a sense of group identity and belonging, and lessen the difference of economical capabilities. However levels of satisfaction is low because school uniforms do not express their individualities and do not keep up with the fashion. In this paper, we studied the partial liberalization of schools uniforms to raise the levels of satisfaction. The subjects were 378 male and female students from middle schools and high school in Ulsan, and a questionnaire was sent out. The survey was conducted in February 2007, and frequency analysis, ${\chi}^2$-analysis, and t-test were used for the analysis of the data. The results are as follows: The students recognized the partial liberalization of the dress code as loosening of the regulation As the result of analysis on attitudes toward the partial liberalization of the dress code, most of the students support the introduction of the plan. They chose a shirt as the most appropriate item and length as the best extent in liberalization. Among the elements of school uniform required to be unified, they selected a jacket and design as the item and extent, respectively. Through this study, we came to know the demands of students for school uniform and confirmed the possibility of the partial liberalization of the dress code as an improvement of consumer-oriented school uniform. In the future, it seems that their desires would be accepted and reflected in the design and school uniforms would be manufactured from the view point of consumer.
