  • The continuous increase of crude oil consumption has struck great impact into the world economy, When we consider disadvantageous articles in contract for oil import, it would be desirable to import in batch the total quantity of crude oil contracted, but which is not available under the present situation which has many constraints This paper treats of the ways to deliver the crude oil in a given period so as to maximize the profit derived from the sales of oil products, To do this we should consider the prices of crude oil and oil products, inventory cost, transportation cost, oil refinement cost, and fluctuations of these parameters in a given period. The case of Korea Oil Corporation is treated in this paper to generalize the problem of crude oil transportation from Middle East and formulated in a mathematical programming. This programming is transformed into Dynamic Programming through specifing states, stages, payoffs, and recursive function. To clarify these procedure and methods, the case of Korea Oil Corporation is dealt with again and demonstrated in detail.

  • According to the order receipt report over the past 10 years the overseas construction business total trades were 54.05% and 68.09% done by the Middle East and other industrial facilities respectively. In the Middle East based on data collected in 2014 the country with most overseas construction business is Saudi Arabia with 34.10%, and the industrial facility occupies the larger share with 56%. Overseas construction business is suffering from a reduction in work orders in the Middle East because of the recent oil price reduction. At this point of view, it is necessary to consider economy fluctuation for the diversification of construction type and work orders. This study analyzed, focusing in Saudi Arabia how the economical fluctuations of nations of progress can affect overseas construction business' trade orders. The analysis results demonstrated that most construction types depends on GDP, investment fund. Also industrial facility can be substituted with Architecture and civil engineering. This work is expected to be used as a basis for trade order amount maintenance and construction type diversification.

  • The miraculous growth of Korean economy and its business corporations during 1960' s and 1970's are mainly due to the government leadership and its market intervention. We can find the reasons why the government initiated economic growth plan was so successful in Korea in its efficient bureaucratic government system and fair discipline to the corporations based on its contribution to the economy. During 1960's, the primary factors for the growth of business entities and the formation of business groups were the financial special favor, the preferential treatment in the new industry entrance and the merge & acquisition, lavish export incentives from the government, and the export explosion to Vietnam. During 1970's, the substantial deduction of corporations' private debt, enormous support in heavy industry investment, special benefits to general trading companies by the government, and the construction export to the Middle-East were the main causes of the business growth and the business groups formation. Also, the economic rent for the big companies had still been effective since 1960's. However, the preferential benefit to the big companies made them to diversify into the unrelated business ares and to be in very vulnerable financial position. The governmental support brought about the monopoly as well.

  • Gold stock could include the U.K. in the European economy by the alternative plan of the problems that it was occurred while nationalizing industry and a company for economic recovery and national profit after the World War Ⅱ and it was wide and came to open in the country of European most. However, the negation was sentenced to it for the reason of the gold stock which the U.K. adopted in European many countries infringing "freedom of the capital movement" at a European court of law. However, I consider gold stock positively to protect it from hostile M&A of the company of the national strategy from the Middle East and an Asian national rich fund recently in France and Germany. If our country looks straight at reality, Urstatut or the agreement of the majority stockholder have a very strict matter assuming the protection of the existing shareholder and must be able to gain the favor if you look by the flow of such world economy.

  • The main reason that drives many developing countries to pursue waste-to-energy (WtE) technologies is that it produces energy while eliminating build-up of large quantities of wastes, at a time, when oil and gas reserves are declining. The rate of generation of municipal solid wastes (MSW) in any given country depends on many factors including economy, population, and modernization of industry and infrastructure developments. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven emirates that has grown to be one of the Middle East's most important economic centers. UAE has also become one of the highest waste producing countries due to fast development and growth; thus, UAE pursue modern technologies to covert generated wastes into energy. In this communication, the status of on-going waste to energy projects and WtE plants that are currently under design and construction in UAE are discussed. The need for development of WtE technologies is presented based on the literature, reports, economics and the environmental regulations.

  • This study have derived the big issue of overseas construction through big data analysis. For identification of big issues on overseas construction, domestic online articles, 30 daily newspapers like the JoongAng Ilbo, 7 construction related articles including construction economy and 1,759 local newspapers and small media companies were analyzed from October 1st, 2015 to September 30th, 2016. 13,884 cases in total were used for big data analyses and big issue candidates were identified. The analysis result is as shown below. First, looking into major issues on overseas construction for a year, construction orders in the Middle East decreased because of the drop in oil prices. Accordingly, there were discussions on concerns and crises we may face as profitabilities worsened in overseas construction. • Relative importance of maritime transport that takes charge of main current of freight in country' economy is very large. Especially, port and facility carry out important role which treats freight of import and export smoothly and improves international trade as turning point, to achieve key role on connection and association between sea and land. For such reason, enlargement of port facilities or development of port needs to grasp exactly the utilization of port, attributes and selective factors of shipper. On the other hand, the amounts of physical distribution on Mokpo port located in Korean west coast are increasing, with fast economic growth of East Asian including China. This study uses discrete choice model that is measuring to analyze attribute and characteristic of Mokpo port, and analyzes port selection by decision factors of shipper. This paper composed a questionnaire using the result of preceding research, to decide port selection factor among competitive ports. Through factor analysis on a basis of the questionnaire' result, five principal components were extracted. These are resorted out by Logit model, to grasp competitive elements of port. This research fin present direction which raises competitive power of ports in west coast of Korea, especially on alternative and concentration of middle-class port as Mokpo may be useful.

  • This study aims to investigate whether economic growth is elevated by banking industry development in Jordan. The study adopts time-series econometric methodologies, which comprise the bounds testing approach within the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and the conditional causality analysis. Consistent with the assumptions of the adopted methodology, the study utilized annual time-series data for a relatively long period of thirty-nine years, between 1980 and 2018. The empirical results show that Jordan's economic growth is strongly responsive in respect to any changes in banking industry development. Also, the results reveal the harmful impact of rising lending interest rate; as this rate increases, economic growth will decrease. The findings are in line with the conceptual arguments of the supply-leading hypothesis, which confirmed that banking development is considered as one of the main pillars that have stimulating effects on economic growth. The evidence of the current study may provide important implications for policymakers and bankers. Those professionals should work to maintain a stable regulatory system that enhances the banking system function in activating economic growth. Also, a considerable focus should be placed on designing a steady interest rate policy to avoid the inherently undesirable impacts of high-interest rates on the Jordanian economy.
