$SnO_2$ films were prepared at room temperature under a $(CH_3)_4Sn-H_2-O_2$ atmosphere in order to obtain transparent conductive polymer by using ECR-MOCVD (Electron Cyclotron resonance -Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) system. The electrical properties of the films were investigated as function of process parameters such as deposition time, microwave power, magnetic current power, magnet/showering/substrate distance and working pressure. An increase in microwave power and magnetic current power brought on $SnO_2$ film formation with low electric resistivity. On the other hand, the effects of process parameters described above on optical properties were insignificant in the range of our experimental scope. The transmittance and reflectance of the films prepared by the ECR-MOCVD exhibited their average values of 93-98% at wave length range of 380-780 nm and 0.1-0.5%, respectively. The grain size of the $SnO_2$ films that are also insensitive with the process parameters were in the range of 20-50 nm. On the basis of experimental data obtained in the present study, electrical resistivity of $7.5{\times}10^{-3}ohm{\cdot}cm$, transmittance of 93%, and reflectance of 0.2% can be taken as optimum values.
To develop the grain moisture meter using microwave free space transmission technique, a 10.5GHz microwave signal with the power of 11mW generated by an oscillar with a dielectric resonator is transmitted to an isolator and radiated from a transmitting $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna into the sample holder filled with the 12 to 26%w.b. of Korean Hwawung paddy rice. the microwave signal, attenuated through the grain with moisture, is collected by a receiving $2{\times}2$ microstrip patch array antenna and detected using a Shottky diode with excellent high frequency characteristic. A pair of light and simple microstrip patch array antenna for measurement of grain moisture content is designed and implemented on atenflon substrate with trleative dielectric constant of 2.6 and thickness of 0.54 by using Ensemble ver. 4.02 software. The aperture of microstrip patch arrays is 41 mm width and 24mm high. The characteristics of microstrip patch antenna such as grain. return loss, and bandwidth are 11.35dBi, -38dB and 0.35GHz($50^{\circ}$ at far-field pattern of E and H plane. The width of the sample holder is large enough to cover the signal between the antennas temperature and bulk density respectively. The calibration model for measurement of grain moisture content is proposed to reduce the effects of fluectuations in bulk density and temperature which give serious errors for the measurements . From the results of regression analysis using the statistically analysis method, the moisture content of grain samples (MC(%)) is expressed in terms of the output voltage(v), temperature (t), and bulk density of samples(${\rho}b$)as follows ;$$MC(%)\;=\;(-3.9838{\times}10^{-8}{\times}v^{3}+8.023{\times}10^{-6}{\times}v^{2}-0.0011{\times}v-0.0004{\times}t+0.1706){\frac{1}{{\rho}b}}{\times}100$ Its determination coefficient, standard error of prediction(SEP) and bias were found to be 0.9855, 0.479%w.b. and -0.0.369 %w.b. respectively between measured and predicted moisture contents of the grain samples.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are attractive material because of their superior electrical, mechanical, and chemical properties. Furthermore, their geometric features such as a large aspect ratio and a small radius of curvature at tip make them ideal for low-voltage field emission devices including backlight units of liquid crystal display, lighting lamps, X-ray source, microwave amplifiers, electron microscopes, etc. In field emission devices for display applications, the phosphor anode is positioned against the CNT emitters. In most case, light generated from the phosphor by electron bombardment passes through the anode front plate to reach observers. However, light is produced in a narrow depth of the surface of the phosphor layer because phosphor particles are big as much as several micrometers, which means that it is necessary to transmit through the phosphor layer. Hence, a drop of light intensity is unavoidable during this process. In this study, we fabricated a transparent cathode back plate by depositing an ultra-thin film of single walled CNTs (SWCNTs) on an indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated glass substrate. Two types of phosphor anode plates were employed to our transparent cathode back plate: One is an ITO glass substrate with a phosphor layer and the other is a Cr-coated glass substrate with phosphor layer. For the former case, light was radiated from both the front and the back sides, where luminance on the back was ~30% higher than that on the front in our experiments. For the other case, however, light was emitted only from the cathode back side as the Cr layer on the anode glass rolled as a reflecting mirror, improving the light luminance as much as ~60% compared with that on the front of one. This study seems to be discussed about the morphologies and field emission characteristics of CNT emitters according to the experimental parameters in fabricating the lamps emitting light on the both sides or only on the cathode back side. The experimental procedures are as follows. First, a CNT aqueous solution was prepared by ultrasonically dispersing purified SWCNTs in deionized water with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). A milliliter or even several tens of micro-liters of CNT solution was deposited onto a porous alumina membrane through vacuum filtration. Thereafter, the alumina membrane was solvated with the 3 M NaOH solution and the floating CNT film was easily transferred to an ITO glass substrate. It is required for CNT film to make standing CNTs up to serve as electron emitter through an adhesive roller activation.

Recently, a variety of printing technologies, including ink jet, gravure, and roll-to-roll (R2R) printing, has generated intensive interest in the application of flexible and wearable electronic devices. However, the actual use of printing technique is much limited because the sintering process of the printed nanoparticle inks remains as a huge practical drawback. In the fabrication of the conductive metal film, a post-sintering process is required to achieve high conductivity of the printed film. The conventional thermal sintering takes considerable sintering times, and requires high temperatures. For application to flexible devices, the sintering temperature should be as low as possible to minimize the damage of polymer substrate. Several alternative sintering methods were suggested, such as laser, halogen lamp, infrared, plasma, ohmic, microwave, and etc. Eventually, the new sintering technique should be applicable to large area, R2R, and polymer substrate as well as low cost. This article reviews progress in recent technologies for several sintering methods. The advantages and disadvantages of each technology will be reviewed. Several issues for the application in R2R process are discussed.

This paper proposed a very simple method of extracting an effective permittivity from the data of scattering parameters measured on the transmission line of coplanar waveguides in the frequency range of microwave or millimeter waves. This is an extracting method of an effective permittivity $\varepsilon$$_{eff}$ in the case of $\beta$$\ell$ =n$\pi$ (n=integer), where the value of S$_{11}$ changes abruptly following the operating frequency. The experimental value of the effective permittivity $\varepsilon$$_{eff}$ on a dielectric substrate of Rogers 4003$^{TM}$ material of $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ =3.38 showed the value of 2.042, which differs in the error of -3.4% to 8% from those calculated from the previously reported formulae. This result showed that the measurement method was very simple, as well as applied directly to the fabricated circuit patterns, even though the circuit patterns might be complicated or on the substrate of different dielectric materials.s.als.

This study realized low-temperature crystallization process of the $Ba_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}TiO_3$ (BST) thin films without thermal damage of substrate using excimer laser annealing (ELA) and structural and electrical characteristics were investigated. The amorphous BST thin films were prepared on Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrate by sol-gel method at $250^{\circ}C$. The ELA was carried out using KrF excimer laser which provided excitation wavelength of 248 nm. The beam homogenizing system was used in order to homogenize beam shape of Gaussian fit. The XRD and SEM were used to analyze structural characteristics and the microwave capacitance, dielectric loss and tunability of the BST films were measured by a symmetrical stripline resonator method with shorted end. Consequently, the crystallinity of BST thin films were improved after ELA process and RF tunable capacitor was demonstrated at low temperature below $300^{\circ}C$.

We report the growth of $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}TiO_3$(BST) thin films and their substrate-dependent electrical characteristics. BST thin films were deposited on alumina(non-single crystal), $Al_2O_3$(100) substrates by Nd:YAG Pulsed Laser Deposition(PLD) with a 355nm wavelength at substrate temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ and post-deposition annealing at $750^{\circ}C$ in flowing $O_2$ atmosphere for 1hours. BST materials had been chosen due to high dielectric permittivity and tunability for high frequency applications, To analyze the oxygen partial pressure effects, deposited films at 1, 10, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 mTorr. The effects of oxygen pressure on structural properties of the deposited films have been investigated by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscope(AFM), respectively. Then we manufactured a inter-digital capacitor(IDC) patterns twenty fingers and $10{\mu}m$ gap, $700{\mu}m$ length and electrical properties were characterized. The results provide a basis for understanding the growth mechanisms and basic structural and electrical properties of BST thin films as required for tunable microwave devices applications such as varactors and tunable filters.
The effects of lead-borosilicate glass frits on the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of ceramic-glass composites were investigated as functions of glass composition of glass addition ($10{\sim}50vol%$), softening point (Ts) of the glass, and sintering temperature of the composites ($500{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h). The addition of 50 vol% glass ensured successful sintering below $900^{\circ}C$. Sintering characteristics of the composites were well described in terms of Ts. PbO addition in to the glass enhanced the reaction with $Al_{2}O_3$ to form liquid phase and $PbAl_{2}Si_{2}O_8$, which was responsible to lower Ts. Dielectric constant(${\epsilon}_r$), $Q{\times}f_0$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (${\tau}_f$) of the composite with 50 vol% glass contents ($B_{2}O_{3}:PbO:SiO_{2}:CaO:Al_{2}O_3$ = 5:40:45:5:5) demonstrated 8.5, 6,000 GHz, $-70\;ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively, which is applicable to substrate requiring a low dielectric constant. When the same glass composition was applied sinter $MgTiO_3\;and\;TiO_2,\;at\;900^{\circ}C$ (50 vol% glass in total), the properties were 23.8, 4,000 GHz, $-65ppm/^{\circ}C$ and 31.1, 2,500 GHz, $+80ppm/^{\circ}C$ respectively, which is applicable to filter requiring an intermidiate dielectric constant.

In this paper, we proposed novel photonic bandgap(PBG) structure using EGP(Elevated Ground Plane) and via in ceramic substrate of microstrip line. From analysis result, the proposed PBG structure is reduced 52.5% at size and increased 45 % at bandwidth compared to typical planar PBG structure. It is also reduced 32 % at size and improved more than 8 dB at power loss compared to typical multilayer DGS(Defected Ground Structure). The proposed PBG structure also can be used bandstop and lowpass filter and it will be useful for small microwave integrated circuit and module development.

In this paper, MMIC double balanced star mixer for 40 ㎓ was implemented on GaAs substrate with backside vias. In the design of the MMIC mixer, the design of balun and diode was required. A novel balun structure using microstrip to CPS was presented. The 40 ㎓ balun was designed based on the design experience of the scale-down balun by 2 ㎓. The balun may be suitable for fabrication in MMIC process with backside via and can easily be applied for DBM(Double Balanced Mixer). A Schottky diode was designed and implemented using p-HEMT process considering the compatability with other high frequency MMIC's fabricated on p-HEMT base process. Finally, the double balanced star mixer was fabricated using the balun and the p=HEMP Schottky diode. The measured performance of mixer shows 30 ㏈ conversion loss at 18 ㏈m LO power. This insufficient performance is caused by the unwanted diode at AlGaAs junction in vertical structure of p-HEMT. If the p-HEMT's gate is recessed to AlGaAs layer, and so the diode is eliminated, the mixer's performances will be improved.
