Development of Small Package Drop-Off System (PC 기반의 무인 소화물 접수장치 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed the automatic postal drop-off system based on the microprocessor board or PC. The weight of the small postal package is transmitted from the electronic scale and user-entered addresses and delivery rate are processed by the controller to calculate the fee. For 24 hour out-door operation and maintenance, non-cash payment methods such as credit card payment is used. The post stamp and receipt are printed by the thermal printer. For the electronic processing of the parcel, serial code is also printed on the stamp and receipts in bar code format. The parcel information obtained by the automatic postal drop-off system is transferred to remote central system by dial-up modem shared by the on site office. The proposed system and its control software are built for prototype model operation and the result met the design requirements. For real time processing, data reception through three serial ports is handled by interrupt routine. The proposed system is expected to be applied for commercial logistics system and pc automation system.

  • This paper describes an development of digital power supply for ship's emergency lighting system(SELS). Proposed system is composed of emergency power supply system(EPSS), half bridge(HB) inverter, fluorescent lamp(FL) starting circuit and microprocessor control system. Experimental works using proposed system confirm that speedy and stable power to be supplied when main power source cut-off, compared with conventional analog type, and control input power up to 35.0[%] by adjusting pulse frequency of the HB inverter.

  • In this paper, a digital inclinometer to measure the angle and acceleration signals of subject laid on Roll was designed. The designed system consists of a tilt sensor, biaxial accelerometer, single chip microprocessor and Bluetooth module. The designed digital inclinometer was easy to handle and to wear. To evaluate the performance of the system, we measured simultaneously the angle and acceleration signals from the 3 subjects on the Roll using two instruments which are ZEBRIS and designed system. The measured signals were processed by statistical method and then the correlation coefficient of 0.93 was shown. From the results, the designed digital inclinometer is shown to be useful in assessment of body movement.

  • The marine accident is being highlighted as a serious worldwide problem for the guard station of human safety and the protection of marine environment pollution. Especially, the GMDSS is operated as a international rule for the safety of a large scale ship, but the small size ship's management is required a adaptive national rule because of the complex condition of national circumstance. This study is motivated to develop a ship's position tracking system combined with GPS information for VTS and control the ship navigation, velocity and longitude etc.. In Part of Navigation Data Transmission is GPS data transmission whih ship's ID using microprocessor and TX speed translation for flexibility with 4800∼2400 [bps]. Results show that the our system for data transmission using microprocessor is useful tool in maritime transmission as SSB used the main TX method of small ship and has a cost competitive power. Therefore, we will expected cost and technical competitive power compared to AIS. But those systems are still remained the unsolved problem for protection from marine accident.. Finally, we examined the semi-actual receiving state on simulated sailing in the around sea of Mok-Po harbor.

  • This paper introduces the controller development of booster multi-pump system with constantly estimated control algorithm. Through analyzing by the experiment of optimal pressure with a certain flow rate. The larger pressure processing apparatus in microprocessor makes optimal water-supplying. This method is implemented with the only pure control algorithm without any other mechanical or circuitry apparatus. Also, Pump's life is lengthened by exchanging simple on, off and rotational inverter control. Optimal condition for pump is adjusted by the inverter control, and compact control panel helps the booster system install in real field.

  • This study is on the development of an engine monitoring system which can be applied not only for mid-size vessels but also small vessels less than 20 gross tonnage. Monitoring system consists of a set LMU(Local Monitoring Unit) that collect data from local machinery, a host computer that controls LMU and a stable communication system which adopts CSMA/CD protocol. The LMU is composed of 80C196KC microprocessor, which consists of CPU, digital input/output, analog input/output and communication module. Communication system between the host computer(compatible IBM PC) and LMUs is the multidrop configuration using RS-485 method and confirmed high performance communication by the aid of polling method as well as carrier sense multiple access with collision detection(CSMA/CD) protocol.

  • This paper presents development of a different substance monitoring system base reliable detection between the conveyer belt and hopper used lot materials transport line of steel company. Conventional detection method of a piece of iron separation system is losed the confidence, because of the place with bad surroundings of measurement so much that materials Production line are completely exposed to dust, moisture and vibration. For the solution of this problem, we developed a different substance detection system using the acoustic emittion sensor and one chip microprocessor which is available for bad surroundings and inexpensive. The reliability of the system was estimated by experiment.

  • A Practical application of environmental monitoring system based on wireless sensor node network with the core of embedded system STR711FR2 microprocessor is presented in the paper. The adaptable and classifiable wireless sensor node network is used to achieve the data acquisition and multi-hop wireless communication of parameters of the monitoring base station environment including repeaters. The structure of the system is proposed and the hardware architecture of the system is designed, and the system operating procedures is proposed. As a result of field test, designed hardware platform operated with 50kbps bit rate and 5MHz channel spacing at 2040Hz. The wireless monitoring system can be managed and swiftly retreated without support of base station environmental monitoring.

  • This paper presents the development or a keypad test system for the improvement or the working environment and productivity improvement using the microprocessor PIC16F877 Chip. In order to detect the fault of keypad products, the design of hardware and software is performed in this system. All controls of the system is implemented by the 8 bit one chip micro-controller PIC. This keypad test system can also recognizes the work process, the work result and the fault position of the keypad which is made by the method of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) and construct the database about test results using personal computer. The experimental results show the effective performance of the keypad test system.

  • This paper describes an improved FES system to restore paralyzed extremities in spinal cord injury patients. For composing stimulus pattern which is suitable for each muscle, electrical stimulus pattern creating system is also developed by using IBM-PC. In the improved portable FES system using V40 microprocessor, muscle fatigue can be decreased by selecting the stimulus frequency which is proper to the response characteristics of each muscle. Driving softwares for the portable FES system and the stimulus pattern creating system are programmed with assembler and C language. A multichnnel portable FES system is designed to minimize the sire and weight using a D/A converter and 32 channel multiplexer.
