초소형 면역 분석기용 이차원적 배열형 마이크로 우물 제작 (Fabrication of 2-D Microwell Arrays for Micro ELISA System)

  • 2-D microwell arrays for micro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immuno Solvent Assay) system were fabricated using micromachining technology. The materials for the bottom plate, top plate and sidewall of the microwell were used a #7740 glass, gold and silicon respectively considering bio-compatibility and easy fabrication. Cylindrical or groove shape microwells, which have about $100{\mu}m$ depth and $50{\sim}500{\mu}m$ diameter or width, were arrayed. The fabricated microwell array can be applied to the essential part of a biochip when surface modification is made to immobilize cells or biomolecules on the microwell bottom.

PDP 격벽 성형용 몰드 제작과 성형에 대한 연구 (A Study on Mold Fabrication and Forming for PDP Barrier Ribs)

  • Plasma Display Panel(PDP) is a type of flat panel display utilizing the light emission produced by gas discharge. Barrier Ribs of PDP separating each sub-pixel prevents optical and electrical crosstalks from adjacent sub-pixels. Mold for forming barrier ribs has been newly researched to overcome the disadvantages of conventional manufacturing process such as screen printing, sand-blasting and photosensitive glass methods. Mold for PDP barrier ribs have stripes of micro grooves transferring glass-material wall. In this paper, Stripes of grooves of which width 48${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 270${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, depth 124${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, pitch 274${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ was acquired by machining hard and brittle materials of WC, Silicon, Alumina with dicing saw blade. Maximum roughness of the bottom and sidewall of the grooves was respectively 120nm, 287nm in grooving WC. Maximum tilt angle caused by difference between upper-most width and lower-most width was 2$^{\circ}$. Maximum Radius of bottom curvatures was 7.75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. This results satisfies the specification for barrier ribs of 50 inch XGA PDP if the groove form of mold was fully transferred to the barrier ribs. Barrier ribs were formed with Silicone rubber mold, which is transferred from grooved hard materials. Silicone rubber mold has elasticity accommodating the waveness of lower glass plate of PDP.

  • Recently, trends of TFT-LCD toward larger scale and thinner thickness continue. so, demands of Light Guide Panel (LGP) which is to substitute for prism sheet are appeared. Functions of LGP obtaining polarization of light of the prism sheet as well as the incidence and reflection of light are demanded. This prism type LGP to complete functions of the existing LGP and polarization at once must be supported by micro machining technology of LGP surface. In this research, the machining characteristics of the various materials were analysed by shaping using V-shaped single crystal diamond tool. The characteristics are machined surface, machining force due to the variation of cutting depth. Used specimens are engineering materials, which are 6:4 brass, oxygen-free copper, Al6061, PC, PMMA. The FFT analysis of the measured cutting force was conducted. The cutting characteristics were analyzed and the optimum cutting conditions with materials were established.

  • It is difficult to machine below 10 micrometers by conventional machining methods, such as micro-EDM. However, ultra micro machining using focused ion beam(FIB) is able to machine to 50 nanometers. In addition, 3 dimensional structures can be made by a combination of FIB and CVD to the level of 10 nanometers. Die & moulds techniques are better than one-to-one machining techniques in the mass production of ultra size structures, in regards to production costs. In this case, the machining precision of die & moulds affects produced parts. Also, it is advantageous to machine die & moulds to the 10 micrometer level by FIB technique rather than other techniques. In this paper, the grooving characteristics for die & mould materials by FIB were carried out experimentally in order to compare the machining characteristics of FIB with conventional machining methods. The results showed that the machining parameters and the scanning path of FIB affects the precision. The machined width and depth of the groove varied depending on the required depth due to the redeposition of the sputtered ion material accumulating on both the bottom and the side of the wall.

MXene 기반의 웨어러블 센서 제작 및 평가 (Fabrication and Evaluation of the MXene-Based Wearable Sensor)

  • Herein, we propose a simple fabrication method for MXene-coated V-groove sensors for applications. To enhance the sensitivity of this sensor, we applied MXene particles, instead of conventional metal layers, as a sensing material on the sensor's surface. This allows for an easier fabrication, as well as higher sensitivity of the sensor compared to those of our previously demonstrated metal-based V-groove sensor. Additionally, polyurethane-acrylate, a UV-curable liquid polymer, can be easily applied using micro-electromechanical systems-based surface-texture micromachining. The sensor sensitivity is approximately 0.08 /mm, and it can be improved by increasing the number of V-grooves. We believe that the proposed MXene-based wearable sensor offers a great potential in detecting various types of motions characteristic of human activities.

공기동압베어링의 성능 해석 및 가공특성 평가 (Evaluation of Machining Characteristics and Performance Analysis of Air-Lubricated Dynamic Bearing)

  • 산업의 발달에 따른 각종기기 장치들의 고속화, 소형화, 정밀화로 인해 고속 스핀들의 필요성은 점점 커지고 있다. 또한 공기동압베어링은 스테이지 모션에 대해서 무마찰 실현을 위해서 웨이퍼 생산용 광학 리소그래피 분야에도 적용된다. 공기동압베어링은 마찰에 의한 동력손실과 열 발생이 적어 고속회전에 유리하고 고정밀 회전이 가능하기 때문에 고속 고정밀 스핀들 시스템 및 하드 디스크 드라이브에 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 축 하중 지지를 위해 헤링본 홈 형상을 가지는 공기동압베어링의 성능에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 공기동압베어링을 제작하기 위해서 기존의 기계 가공방법과는 다른 비접촉식 초정밀 가공 방법인 마이크로 전기화학가공에 의한 방법으로 마이크로 그루브 가공을 수행하였고, 수치해석 프로그램을 이용하여 전극의 간극, 전해용액 농도, 가공시간 등 이론적인 수치를 시뮬레이션 하였다.

  • The electrode wear in micro-EDM significantly deteriorates the machining accuracy. In this regard, electrode wear needs to be compensated in-process to improve the product quality. Therefore, there are substantial amount of research about electrode wear. In this study a control method for micro-EDM using discharge pulse counting is proposed. The method is based on the assumption that the removed workpiece volume is proportional to the number of discharge pulses, which is verified from experimental results analyzing geometrically machined volume according to various number of discharges. Especially, the method has an advantage that electrode wear does not need to be concerned. The proposed method is implemented to an actual micro-EDM system using high speed data acquisition board, simple counting algorithm with 3 axis motion system. As a result, it is demonstrated that the volume of hole machined by EDM drilling can be accurately estimated using the number of discharge pulses. In EDM milling process a micro groove without depth variation caused by electrode wear could be machined using the developed control method. Consequently, it is shown that machining accuracy in drilling and milling processes can be improved by using process control based on the number of discharge pulses.

비공비 혼합냉매 R-410A를 적용한 납작한 알루미늄 마이크로 멀티 튜브에서의 마찰손실에 관한 연구 (A study on the friction head loss in flat aluminum micro multi tubes with nonazeotropic refrigerant mixtures R-410A)

  • This study conducted a research as to condensation heat transfer friction loss headby using three types of flat micro multi-channel tubes with different processing of micro-fin and number of channels inside the pipes and different sizes of appearances. In addition, identical studies were conducted by using smoothing circular tubes with 5mm external diameter to study heat enhancement factor and pressure drop penalty factor. 1) The friction head loss showed an increase as the vapor quality and mass flux increased. In case of saturation temperature, it shows an increase as it gets lower. These factors are the reason occurring as the lower the saturation temperature is, the higher the density of refrigerant vapor gets. The influence of heat flux is similar as the dryness is low, but as it gets higher, it lowers in heat flux, and as the high temperature of high heat flux, it is a factor that occurs as the density gets lower. 2) RMS error of the in case of friction head loss, it showed to be predicted as 0.45~0.67 by Chisholm, Friedel, Lockhart and Martinelli. 3) As forfriction head loss penalty factor, the smaller the aspect ratio is, the larger the penalty factor gets, and as for the effect of micro-fin, the penalty factor increased because it decreases to the gas fluid the way groove for the refrigerant's flow.

마이크로 치형수정이 선회가공 유닛 구동기어의 동력전달 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on Effect of Micro Tooth Shape Modification on Power Transmission Characteristics based on the Driving Gear of Rotating Machining Unit)

  • Rotating machining unit is a revolutionary product that can process worm shaft or spiral shaft with fast and precise, a rotary type cutting tool, which is attached to automatic lathe and processes spiral groove on outer circumference of round bar. In this work, a study on micro tooth shape modification method of driving gear train in the rotating machining unit was presented. To observe the effect on power transmission characteristics of the driving gear pair, visualize the gear meshing condition and the load distribution on the gear teeth by using the professional gear train analysis program RomaxDesigner. By comparing the repeated analysis results, the effect of micro tooth shape modification on power transmission characteristics on driving gear can be summarized. The optimized gears were fabricated and measured by precision tester as a validation in this research.

단열층을 이용한 광디스크 기판 성형에 대한 수치 해석 (Modeling of Passive Heating for Replicating Sub-micron Patterns in Optical Disk Substrates)

  • Transcribability of pit or land groove structures in replicating an optical disk substrate greatly affects the performance of a high-density optical disk. However, a solidified layer, generated during the polymer filling, deteriorates transcribability because the solidified layer prevents the polymer melt in filling the sub-micro patterns. Therefore, the development of the solidified layer during filling stage of injection molding must be delayed. For this delay, passive heating by insulation layer has been used. In the present study, to examine the development of the solidified layer delayed by passive heating, the flow of polymer melt with passive heating was analyzed. Passive heating markedly delayed the development of the solidified layer, reduced the viscosity of the polymer melt, and increased the fluidity of the polymer melt in the vicinity of the stamper surface with the sub-micro patterns. As a result, we predict that passive heating can improve transcribability of an optical disk substrate. To verify our prediction, we fabricated an optical disk substrate by using passive heating of a mold and measured the transcribability.
