순경(順鏡) 페그마타이트에서 산출(産出)되는 석석(錫石), 콜럼바이트, 탄탈라이트 및 수반광물(隨伴鑛物)에 대한 광물화학(鑛物化學) (Mineral Chemistry of Cassiterite, Columbite, Tantalite and Associated Minerals from Soonkyoung Tin-bearing Pegmatite)

  • 상동지역(上東地域), 순경(順鏡) 함광석(含鑛石) 페그마타이트에서는 석석(錫石)을 비롯하여 탄탈라이트-콜롬바이트, 그리고 함(含)Ta-금홍석(金紅石) 등(等)이 산출(産出)된다. 석석(錫石)은 산포상(散布狀)의 미정질(微晶質)에서부터 거정질(巨晶質)에 이르기까지 다양(多樣)하며, 일반적(一般的)으로 탄탈라이트-콜롬바이트, 함(含)Ta-금홍석(金紅石)과 공존(共存)하고 있다. 탄탈라이트-콜롬바이트는 미세맥(微細脈) 혹은 용리상능(溶離狀能)로서 석석결정(錫石結晶)에 배태(胚胎)되며 간혹 독립광물(獨立鑛物)로서 석영(石英)에 수반(隨伴)되는 경우가 있다. 함(含)Ta-금홍석(金紅石)은 상기(上記)한 광물(鑛物) 중 최후기상(最後期相)으로서 석영(石英)을 수반(隨伴)하는 세맥상(細脈狀)으로 산출(産出)된다. 석석(錫石)에서 ${\Sigma}Ta^{+5}$, $Nb^{+4}$, $Ti^{+4}$ 및 Fe*은 $Sn^{+4}$과 부(負)의 상관관계(相關關係)로 치환(置換)에 전적(全的)으로 관계(關係)하고 있으며, 0.01-0.15mol.% 까지 치환(置換)하고 있다. $Ta^{+5}$$Nb^{+5}$는 Fe* 쌍치환관계(雙置換關係)이며 $Ta^{+5}$$Ti^{+4}$와 화학적(化學的) 친화관계(親化關係)로서 밀접(密接)히 수반(隨伴)된다. 이상구조(異常構造)가 발달(發達)된 석석(錫石)은 결정(結晶)의 내핵(內核)에서부터, 외각(外殼)으로 갈수록 Ta/Nb 비(比)가 증가(增加)하며, 이는 온도(溫度)의 하강(下降)에 따른 Ta의 참여효과(參與效果) 가 높아지는데 기인(起因)된다. 함(含)Ta-금홍석(金紅石)은 $TiO_2$:57.41-86.00wt.%, $Ta_2O_5$:5.08-21.51 wt.%, $Nb_2O_5$:1.60-6.81 wt.%, FeO*:2.06-5.85 wt.% 그리고 $SnO_2$:1.74-10.35 wt.%의 화학조성(化學造成)으로 구성(構成)되어 있다. 본 광물(鑛物)은 탄탈라이트-콜롬바이트에 비(比)하여 Ta/Ta+Nb의 비(比)가 높다. 탄탈라이트-콜롬바이트의 화학조성(化學造成)에 의하면, Ta/Ta+Nb가 증가(增加)하고, Mn/Mn+Fe*는 감소(減少)하는 분결경향(分結傾向)을 보여 주고 있다. 이것은 분결작용(分結作用)이 진행(進行)되는 동안 Ta의 활동도(活動度)가 증가(增加)되는 것으로 Li과 F가 고갈(枯渴)되고, Be과 P가 풍부(豊富)한 환경(環境)을 지시(指示)하는 것이다. 이와같은 환경(環境)은 순경(順鏡) 페그마타이트에 Li과 F 운모(雲母)의 부재(否在)와 탄탈라이트와 녹주석(綠柱石)이 석석(錫石) 광화작용(鑛化作用)과 밀접(密接)히 수반(隨伴)되는 것과 일치(一致)하는 것이다. 본 페그마타이트는 Ta-Be 복합형(複合型)의 페그마타이트로서 석석(錫石)은 탄탈라이트-콜룸바이트, 녹주석(綠柱石) 등(等)의 분결작용(分結作用)을 수반(隨伴)하며 형성(形成)되었다.

이중탕(理中湯)이 골관절염 유발 생쥐에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Leejung-tang (理中湯) on MIA-Induced Osteoarthritis Rat)

  • Objectives This study intends to clarify how Leejung-tang (here in after reffered to LJT) affect Wistar Rat whose osteoarthritis was induced by MIA. Methods Osteoarthritis was induced into rat by injecting MIA in its knee joint. Rats are divided into a total of 4 groups (n=6). Normal group are not treated at all without inducing osteoarthritis whereas control group were induced for osteoarthritis by MIA and oral medicated with 2 ml of physiological saline per day. Positive comparison group (Indomethacin) was injected with MIA and after 7 days, 2 mg/kg of Indomethacin was medicated. Experimental group (LJT) was injected with MIA and after 7 days that was medicated with 23 mg/kg of LJT. Indomethacin and LJT were oral medicated for each substance a total of 4 weeks with one time per day. After experiments (from 1 week after injection of MIA to 4 weeks elapsed), Hind paw weight bearing ability, Functions of liver and kidney, Serum prostaglandin $E_2$, TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-1${\beta}$, IL-6, Osteocalcin, TIMP-1, MMP-9, LTB4 and amount of cartilage were measured and histopathological variations for knee joint structures were observed. Results 1) Hind paw weight bearing ability of LJT administration group was increased but there was no statistical significance. 2) Functions of liver and kidney were not affected. 3) Serum prostaglandin $E_2$, IL-1${\beta}$, Osteocalcin, MMP-9 were significantly decreased and TNF-$\alpha$, IL-6, TIMP-1, LTB4 were also decreased but there were no statistical significance. 4) In H&E staining and Safranin-O staining, there were small histopathological changes in LJT administration group than control group. 5) In micro CT (computed tomography)-arthrography, cartilage destruction was more suppressed in LJT administration group than control group. Conclusions Based on all results mentioned above, Leejung-tang (LJT) is believed to be meaningful for suppressing the progress of osteoarthritis and its treatments because of its anti-inflammatory effects and alleviation of pain with histopathological effective efficacy.

무연 솔더가 적용된 자동차 전장부품 접합부의 열적.기계적 신뢰성 평가 (Thermo-Mechanical Reliability of Lead-Free Surface Mount Assemblies for Auto-Mobile Application)

  • This study was focused on the evaluation of the thermo-mechanical board-level reliability of Pb-bearing and Pb-free surface mount assemblies. The composition of Pb-bearing solder was a typical Sn-37Pb and that of Pb-free solder used in this study was a representative Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu in mass %. Thermal shock test was chosen for the reliability evaluation of the solder joints. Typical $Cu_6Sn_5$ intermetallic compound (IMC) layer was formed between both solders and Cu lead frame at the as-reflowed state, while a layer of $Cu_3Sn$ was additionally formed between the $Cu_6Sn_5$ and Cu lead frame during the thermal shock testing. Thickness of the IMC layers increased with increasing thermal shock cycles, and this is very similar result with that of isothermal aging study of solder joints. Shear test of the multi layer ceramic capacitor(MLCC) joints was also performed to investigate the degradation of mechanical bonding strength of solder joints during the thermal shock testing. Failure mode of the joints after shear testing revealed that the degradation was mainly due to the excessive growth of the IMC layers during the thermal shock testing.

  • It is currently well known that surface textures act as lubricant reservoirs, entrap wear debris, and hydrodynamic bearings, which can lead to certain increases in load-carrying capacities. Until recently, the vast majority of research has focused on parallel sliding machine components such as thrust bearings, mechanical face seals, piston rings, etc. However, most sliding bearings have a convergent film shape in the sliding direction and their hydrodynamic pressure is mainly generated by the wedge action. Following the first part of the present study that investigates the effect of groove position on the lubrication performances of inclined slider bearings, this paper focuses on the effects of groove depths and film thicknesses. Using a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, FLUENT, the continuity and Navier-Stokes equations are numerically analyzed. The results show that the film thickness and groove depth have a significant influence on the pressure distribution. The maximum pressure occurs at the groove depth where the vortex is found and, as the depth increases, the pressure decreases. There is also a groove depth to maximize the supporting load with the film thickness. The friction force acting on the slider decreases with deeper grooves. Therefore, properly designed groove depths, depending on the operating conditions, can improve the load-carrying capacity of inclined slider bearings as compared to the bearings without a groove.

두개안면골 결손부 재건에 있어서 티타늄 그물판의 임상적 유용성 (Clinical Usefulness of Titanium Mesh in Reconstruction of the Craniofacial Bone Defects)

  • Purpose: Reconstruction of the craniofacial defects can be carried out with autogenous tissues, allogenic implants, or alloplastic materials. Titanium mesh systems have been used for bony reconstruction in non load-bearing areas. They offer several advantages: immediate availibility without any donor site morbidity, easy handling, stable 3-D reconstruction, and low susceptibility to infection. The aim of this study is to evaluate the usefulness and complications of titanium mesh system in the reconstruction of the craniofacial defects. Methods: From Jan. 2000, to Dec. 2004, we performed reconstruction of craniofacial bone defects in 21 patients who had benign or malignant tumor and fracture events in the cranium, orbit, nasal bone, maxilla, zygoma and the mandible. The size of the defects ranged from $1.0{\times}1.5cm$ to $12{\times}10cm$. Two different mesh systems, micro-titanium augmentation mesh and dynamic mesh was used for bony reconstruction in non load-bearing areas. The patients were evaluated from 1 to 4 yrs clinically and radiographically with a mean follow up period of 1.5 yrs. Results: There were no serious complications, including wound infection, foreign body reaction, exposures or loos of the mesh, central infection and pathologic findings of bone around mesh exception of one patient, who had expired of skull base tumor recurrence. Long-term stability of the reconstructions and the overall functional and aesthetic outcome was excellent. Conclusion: Our experiences demonstrate that the Titanium mesh system is a relatively safe and efficient method in the craniofacial reconstruction and have broadens our choices of therapeutic procedures in the craniomaxillofacial surgery.

가임기 여성의 엽산 섭취량 및 엽산영양상태 (Dietary Intakes and Status of Folate in Koean Women of Child-bearing Potential)

  • We examined the folate intakes and assessed folate nutritional status of Korean women with childbearing potential. A total of 91 healthy women aged between 15 and 49 participated. They were divided into three groups by their age : A(15-24 yrs), B(25-34 yrs) and C(35-49 yrs). Folate intakes were determined by direct analysis. The foods consumed for 24 hours were collected proportionally and assessed folate. Their blood drawn in fasting state were analyzed folate levels. Folate contents of food homogenate, plasma and erythrocyte were determined a microbiological method using Lactobacillus. casei (ATCC 7469). Prior to the micro-assay, the food homogenate were treated with alpha-amylase, protease and folate conjugase. Mean daily folate intake of the total subjects was 145.8$\mu\textrm{g}$/d and in each group of A, B, and C was 114.0$\mu\textrm{g}$/d, 141.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/d, and 164.6$\mu\textrm{g}$/d, respectively. That of group C was significantly higher than that of group A(p<0.05). However, those of all the groups were lower than compared to the Korean Recommened Dietary Allowances(RDA) for folate. Especially the subjects in the group A consumed folate least that was below the half of the Korean RDA. The mean energy intake of all subjects was 1638㎉/d and those in each group of A, B, and C did not meet the Korean RDA for energy. The energy intake were significantly correlated with folate intakes(r=0.5050, p<0.001). Mean plasma and erythrocyte folate concentrations of total subjects were 6.9ng/mL and 266.3ng/mL, respectively. None were found to be deficient both in plasma(<3ng/mL)and erythrocyte (<140ng/mL) folate levels. There was only one subject who had red blood cell folate level below 157ng/mL concentration. These results show that folate status of the Korean women of reproductive age is not much bad. But it should be better that letting them improve their folate status by increasing energy intake, choosing high folate foods.

회전 마찰형 제진장치의 이력특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study the on Hysteretic Characteristics of Rotational Friction Energy Dissipative Devices)

  • Friction energy dissipative devices have been increasingly implemented as structural seismic damage protecting systems due to their excellent seismic energy dissipating capacity and high stiffness. This study develops rotational friction energy dissipative devices and verifies experimentally their cyclic response. Based on the understanding of the differences between the traditional linear-motion friction behavior and the rotational friction behavior, the configuration of the frictional surface was determined by investigating the characteristics of the micro-friction behavior. The friction surface suggested in this paper consists of brake-lining pads and stainless steel sheets and is normally stressed by high-strength bolts. Based upon these frictional characteristics of the selected interface, the rotational friction energy dissipative devices were developed. Bolt torque-bearing force tests, rotational friction tests of the suggested friction interfaces were carried out to identify their frictional behavior. Test results show that the bearing force is almost linearly proportional to the applied bolt torque and presents stable cyclic response regardless of the experimental parameters selected this testing program. Finally, cyclic tests of the rotational friction energy dissipative devices were performed to find out their structural characteristics and to confirm their stable cyclic response. The developed friction energy dissipative devices present very stable cyclic response and meet the requirements for displacement-dependent energy dissipative devices prescribed in ASCE/SEI 7-10.

충주지역 흑색셰일 분포지역에서의 잠재적 독성원소들의 분산과 부화 (Dispersion and Enrichment of Potentially Toxic Elements in the Chungjoo Area Covered with Black Shales in Korea)

  • This study had three purposes: (1) to investigate dispersion and enrichment level of potentially toxic elements; (2) to identify uranium-bearing minerals in black shales; and (3) to assess the chemical speciation of heavy metals in soils and sediments. Rock, surface soil and stream sediment samples were collected in the Chungjoo area covered with black shales in Korea. These samples were analyzed for multi-elements using INAA and ICP-AES. The maximum abundance of U in black shales is 56 ppm and radioactivity counts up to 240CPM. Molybdenum, V, Ba, Cu, and Pb are enriched in black shales and most of soils show high concentrations of U, Mo, Ba, Cu, Pb and Zn. Concentrations of potentially toxic elements decrease in the order of mountain soil > farmland soil > paddy soil. Enrichment index of soils and sediments are calculated and higher than 1.0 in the black shale area with the highest value of 6.1. In order to identify U-bearing minerals, electron probe micro analysis was applied, and uraninite and brannerite in black shale were found. Uraninite grains are closely associated with monazite or pyrite with the size of $2{\mu}m$ to $10{\mu}m$ in diameter whereas brannerite occurs as $50{\mu}m$ euhedral grains. With the results of sequential extraction scheme, residual fractions of Cu, Pb and Zn in soils are mainly derived from weathering of black shale but Cu, Pb and Zn in sediments are present as non-residual fractions. Lead is predominantly present as oxidizable phase in soils whereas Zn is in exchageable/water-acid soluble phase in sediments.

  • 본 논문에서는 고상식(Piloti) 기초가 사용되는 오일샌드 플랜트의 하부기초에 소형강관 말뚝이나 마이크로 파일 등을 마찰 말뚝개념으로 사용할 경우 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 극복하고자 복합거동 연결체를 제안하였다. 말뚝의 개별 침하나 융기(Heaving)를 1개의 군으로 연결하여 복합거동이 가능하도록 하였으며, 하중 지지특성을 분석하였다. 기존 무리말뚝과 말뚝전면(Piled raft) 기초의 장점을 오일샌드 플랜트에 적용 할 수 있도록 복합거동 연결체의 형상을 결정하였다. 또한, 축소모형을 제작하여 하중에 대한 거동을 계측하고, 이를 통해 장치의 안정성 및 취약부위를 검토하여 연결체의 형태를 평가하였다.

옥천대(沃天帶)의 변형특성(變形特性)과 그 형성(形成) 과정(過程) -충북(忠北) 남서단(南西端)을 예(例)로 하여- (The Deformation Properties and their Formative Processes in Ogcheon Terrain around Ogcheon Town, North Chungcheong Province, Korea)

  • The studied area is situated in tho southern part of the Ogcheon fold belt, where the "Ogcheon Group" is widespread with Jurassic and Cretaceous intrusions. The regional stratigraphy may be divided into three formations, the lower pebble bearing phyllitic, the middle dark grey phyllitic, and the upper black phyllitic formations. For the purposes of the present study, the area has been partitioned to three structural subareas based on major fold axes and fault line. The main subjects of the research have been discussed from two different points, multiple deformation and minor-micro fold styles. The former is analyzed by pebble elongation, folding and lineation in a pebbly formation as well as schistosity, crenulation cleavage and crenulated lineation in the phyllitic formation. The later describes the characteristic features of fold style in each formation and structural subarea. Although minor fold axes within broad pelitic rocks usually tend to trend northeast and to plunge northward, most of these were probably formed by two stages, first a similar fold phase and second a kink fold phase. Measured structural elements indicate that crenulation cleavage in phyllite formed parallel to fold axes of folded pebble followed a NE phase of first deformation and a fold axes of pebbles diagonal to bedding of phyllite are represented by a NW phase of a second deformation. Microscopically, quartz and mica grains form a micro fold enabling one to establish tectonic levels which occur in different deformation modes in each stratigraphic sequence. Microtextures such as crenulation cleavage, kink band, aggregate band of mica and pressure shadows of porphyroblast of quartz related to qarnet and staurolite may suggest the time relation of crystallization and tectonism. The result of this study may conform that three deformation phase, NE first phase-NE second phase-NW phase, occurred in the area.
