This paper presents a method for optimal operation to improve reliability of MicroGrid systems considering load types and interruption cost. The objective functions such as power losses cost, operation cost of dispersed generations, power purchasing cost, and interruption cost are minimized for reliability improvement and efficient operation. The several indices for reliability evaluation are improved by renewable energy sources installation.
Laser photolithography technique is useful for fabricating micro-patterns of silicon wafers. In this work, the laser photolithography micromachining technique is optimized based on Taguchi method. Sensitivity analysis was performed using laser scanning speed and laser power level as the parameters. The results show that for the photoresist used in this work, a laser scan speed of $70{\mu}m/s$ at 50mW laser power gives the best result.
This study was designed to fabricate the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) parts such as micro spur gears using hot extrusion of gas atomized Al-78Zn powders. For this purpose, it is important to develop new methods to fabricate micro-dies and choose suitable extrusion conditions for a micro-forming. Micro-dies with Ni were fabricated by LIGA technology. LIGA technology was capable to produce micro-extrusion dies with close tolerances, thick bearing length and adequate surface quality. Superplastic Al-78Zn powders have the great advantage in achieving deformation under low stresses and exhibiting good micro formability with average strain rates ranging from $10^{-3}$ to $10^{-2}\;s^{-1}$ and constant temperatures ranging from 503 to 563K. Al-78Zn powders were compacted into a cylindrical shape (${\Phi}3{\times}h10$) under compressive force of 10kN and, subsequently, the compacted powders were extruded at 563k in a hot furnace. Micro-extrusion has succeeded in forming micro-gear shafts.

Micro-EDM is widely used in metallic pattern, electronics, nuclear power and industry in the form of precision process. The improvement of Electro Discharge Machining has been on a steady progress since $19^{th}$ century. The technology has overcome the limits of the traditional precision process, enabling micro-EDM, micro electrolytic machining, micro drilling, micro punching and laser beam machining, which create versatile products with smaller sizes. What have been known about the major feature of Micro-EDM is high thermal energy so that their products are free from the hardness of their products as long as they are electrical conductor. However, each metal is suspected to have different features and natures even if they are created through the same procedure. In this thesis, the methodology of Micro-EDM and how to categorize them are explained. Also, the nature of the examined materials with surface shape and surface roughnes are analyzed. The results of the experiments are expected to understand surface roughness and workability of other materials for Micro-EDM.
Micro-light emitting diode (micro-LED) displays offer numerous advantages such as high brightness, fast response, and low power consumption. Hence, they are spotlighted as the next-generation display. However, defective LEDs may be created due to non-uniform contact loads or LED alignment errors. Therefore, a repair process involving the replacement of defective LEDs with favorable ones is necessitated. The general repair process involves the removal of defective micro-LEDs, interconnection material transfer, as well as new micro-LED transfer and bonding. However, micro-LEDs are difficult to repair since their size decreases to a few tens of micron in width and less than 10 ㎛ in thickness. The conventional nozzle-type dispenser for fluxes and the conventional vacuum chuck for LEDs are not applicable to the micro-LED repair process. In this study, transfer conditions are determined using a micro stamp for repairing micro-LEDs. Results show that the aging time should be set to within 60 min, based on measuring the aging time of the flux. Additionally, the micro-LEDs are subjected to a compression test, and the result shows that they should be transferred under 18.4 MPa. Finally, the I-V curves of micro-LEDs processed by the laser and hot plate reflows are measured to compare the electrical properties of the micro-LEDs based on the reflow methods. It was confirmed that the micro-LEDs processed by the laser reflow show similar electrical performance with that processed by the hot plate reflow. The results can provide guidance for the repair of micro-LEDs using micro stamps.
Satellites have provided the impetus for the orderly development of reliability engineering research and analysis because they tend to have complex systems and hence acute problems. They were instrumental in developing mathematical models for reliability, as well as design techniques to permit quantitative specification, prediction and measurement of reliability. Reliability engineering is based on implementing measures which insure an item will perform its mission successfully. The discipline of reliability engineering consists of two fundamental aspects; $(1^{st})$ paying attention to details, and $(2^{nd})$ handling uncertainties. This paper uses some of the basic concepts, formulas and examples of reliability theory in application. This paper emphasizes the practical reliability analysis of a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Micro-satellite power subsystem. Approaches for specifying and allocating the reliability of each element of the power system so as to meet the overall power system reliability requirements, as well as to give detailed modeling and predicting of equipment/system reliability are introduced. The results are handled and analyzed to form the final reliability results for the satellite power system. The results show that the Electric Power Subsystem (EPS) reliability meets the requirements with quad microcontrollers (MC), two boards working as main and cold redundant while each board contains two MCs in a hot redundant.
In this paper, we analyzed of growth and electrical characteristics of micro-cracks with thermal effect in PV module. The micro-cracks are increasing the breakage risk over the whole value chine from the wafer to the finished module, because the wafer or cell is exposed to mechanical stress. we experimentally analyze the direct impact of micro-cracks on the module power and the consequences after artificial aging. The first step, we made micro-cracks in PV module by mechanical load test according to IEC 61215. Next, PV modules applied the thermal cycling test, because microcracks accelerated aging by thermal cycling test. according to IEC61215. Before every test, we checked output and EL image of PV module.
