In buildings on the street, indiscriminate redevelopment are being made by overlooking the relationship with surrounding landscape to create their own unique meaning, due to industrialization progressed rapidly with human needs of longing for something constantly. Selection and methods of two plans, conservation and utilization should be required, considering heritage values on industrial buildings which are being lost and aged in this redevelopment higher. The attempt for the use of modern industrial heritage becomes a hot topic, and several experimental challenges are being made. However, there are rather many cases of causing industrial buildings' depreciation and one-size-fits-all reproduction performance as it applies other examples as standards by recognizing the reproduction of modern industrial heritage as one trend, not focusing on the trend of the times or paradigm, what the times want. To minimize these problems, we focus on how to utilize industrial buildings beyond the importance of industrial buildings' reproduction, considering the quality of local residents' life as well as the expected effect obtainable due to security of local identity and reproduction of buildings, focusing on the concept of community design that offers and forms a way of community life as the design of shares based on unspecified individuals' common life. Community design's core can be called to have diversity rather than undifferentiated unity by pursuing whole unification, since local residents become those who plan design and all people participate in it. In addition, community design achieves integration with other fields as an enlarged design area without limiting in an environmental area, by making indigenously natural characteristics combined with cultural factors in one context so that people may understand the flow of the place. The importance of effects acquired from modern industrial heritage's reproduction has well-known, and the attempt for utilizing aged heritage as a new value and a function has constantly been made. Now, it's time to focus on how long it lasts through this method, rather than modern industrial heritage's reproduction itself. There can be a significance in this study in proposing methodological solutions on modern industrial heritage's reproduction, not to cause depreciation of industrial buildings by recognizing contemporary trends and uniform regeneration performance, multifaceted research is needed for creative, effective development on modern industrial heritage which will occur constantly.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a Cancer Patient Guide with patients involvement using evidenced based practice research. The purpose of this patient guide was to help patients undergoing chemotherapy to manage their nausea and vomiting based on evidence. Methods: The design of the research was a methodological study. The participants consisted of seven cancer patients who were asked about their ' need for nausea and vomiting management, and secondly, 16 expert & 15 cancer patients to evaluate the Cancer Patient Guide using the DESCERN tool. Results: 1) Sixty-four relevant research evidences based articles were reviewed. 2) Patients were interviewed as to their needs in controlling nausea and vomiting. 3) The preliminary Cancer Patient Guide utilizing the research evidenced and the cancer patients interviews was then evaluated and revised by the experts and cancer patients. Lastly, the Cancer Patient which included an overview of chemotherapy, pathophysiology of nausea & vomiting, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions was finalized with each intervention supported by research evidence and patients' narratives of their experience. Conclusion: The Cancer Patient Guide was developed using evidenced based research and cancer patients in-put and be used to improve patients' self-management skill of nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy. The guide t also provides evidence based patient friendly information and contributes as a baseline data for developing and evaluating evidence-based guide for patients.

Purpose: The study was done to identify the effects of OSCE program prior to clinical practice for nursing students and to find out the weakest area of fundamental nursing skills. Methods: Study design was methodological triangulation. Qualitative analysis was done to derive nursing students' OSCE experiences using OSCE reflection note. Level of basic nursing skill acquirement was identified by quantitative method. Results: Four themes and 10 sub-categories emerged: (a) confidence and interests in nursing being increased, (b) being encouraged by mentor and evaluator, (c) requiring much effort to learn nursing skill, (d) being aware of themselves and understanding others in their shoes. Results of analysis of OSCE application score record showed as followings ; Intravenous injection(92.6%), Intramuscular injection(89.5%), Foley catheterization(85.2%), Vital sign(81.5%): BP check(63.0%) Respiration check(50.0%), Health assessment: respiration sound auscultation(33.3%) heart sound auscultation(44.4%). Conclusion: OSCE program application before frist clinical nursing practice was effective in terms of fundamental nursing skills learning. It is necessary to reinforce nursing skills based on the study results.

Purposes: The purpose of this study was to identify recent trends of experimental research by analyzing doctoral dissertations in all colleges of nursing in Korea. Methods: The areas of research, the content, methodological and intervention characteristics used in this study were explored in experimental research on doctoral dissertations (n=132) published from 2006 to 2010. Results: In the issues of research, practice/clinical issues were most frequently used. As to outcome measurement, physiological variables increased more than psychological/emotional variables. Most theory applied in the research was taken from other disciplines, and nursing theory was only Roy's adaptation theory. A large majority of the research was quasi-experimental designs and the number of true-experimental designs was very low. In more than half of the dissertations, internal validity was not described, and the described external validity rate was very low. There were more single intervention programs than bundle ones and education/exercise programs were most frequently used as the source of intervention. Conclusion: Doctoral dissertations need to increase and encourage more high quality experimental research to expand nursing knowledge and to develop evidence based nursing practice.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a comprehensive self-management program promoting self efficacy for Type 2 diabetic patients. Methods: The study was a methodological research design in which previous related research was reviewed to develop the comprehensive self-management program promoting self efficacy using self efficacy theory. Results: Comprehensive self-management programs promoting self efficacy included the whole range of eight self-management domains: diet, exercise, medication, self-testing of blood glucose, complication or foot, stress, time, and general health, and consisted of four sources of self efficacy: enactive mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and physiological and affective states, as strategies to promote self efficacy. Developmental methods included, in addition to large and small group education, individual education or counseling, and telephone counseling. Conclusion: Further studies are needed in community health centers or hospitals to establish the effects on self-management compliance and glycemic control of the comprehensive self-management program promoting self efficacy.
Purpose: The purpose of this methodological study was to examine the reliability and validity of a translated Korean version of the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT) developed for assessment of pain in critically ill nonverbal patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used. Data were collected from a convenience sample of 202 critically ill patients admitted to a university hospital. Upon establishment of content and translation equivalence between the English and Korean version of CPOT, psychometric properties were evaluated. Results: The interrater reliability was found to be acceptable with the weighted kappa coefficients of .81-.88. Significant high correlations between the CPOT and the Checklist of Nonverbal Pain Indicators were found indicating good concurrent validity (r=.72-.83, p<.001). Data showed the area under the ROC curve of 0.86 with a cut-off point of 1, which resulted in 76.9% sensitivity and 88.6% specificity. The mean score of CPOT during suctioning was significantly different from that of before (t= -14.16, p<.001) or 20 minutes after suctioning (t=16.31, p<.001). Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that the CPOT can be used as a reliable and valid measure to assess pain in critically ill nonverbal patients.

Introduction: Critical thinking involves identifying problem(s), assessing resources, and generating possible solutions and allows clinical nurses to decide which solution is the most reasonable under the given circumstances, taking into consideration the "hat ifs" and how they will affect the end result. This research was conducted to further understanding and identification of subjective factors in critical thinking in clinical nurses. Methods: The research design was a Q-Methodological Approach. Q-population was formulated from a non-structured questionnaire and interviews from 17 experienced clinical nurses. Thirty selected Q-statements were sorted by 30 experienced clinical nurses. Results: Four factors for critical thinking were identified: (1) Deductive reasoning based on causal relation, (2) Construction of an effective model based on patients' responses, (3) Formulating categories based on priorities for effective interventions, and (4) Judging validity of the situational significance on clinical performances. Conclusion: Critical thinking is an attitude and reasoning process. From this study, the frame of reference for clinical nurses in formulating critical thinking within the context of clinical settings is identified and indicates the way nurses utilize thinking skills when they care for patients and areas that need further exploration as nurses and faculty develop education systems to advance clinical performance competency.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effects on problem solving ability and learning satisfaction in nursing students using a teaching method with a standardized patient (SP) receiving blood transfusion. Method: The research design was a quasi-experimental pre-and-post-test control and experimental group for the methodological comparison study. Participants were 43 (Exp.=22, Cont.=21) nursing students in G city. The experimental group participated in the teaching class using SP. The control group received conventional education using a simple model. Data were collected between June 5 and July 15, 2015, through self-report structured questionnaires and data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. Results: There were significant differences in the level of problem solving ability (t=-2.75, p=.009), and learning satisfaction (t=-2.53, p=.016) between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: The research findings indicate that, the teaching method using an SP is more effective in improving nursing students' problem solving ability and learning satisfaction compared to conventional education using a simple model. In the future it is necessary to develop scenarios of various cases and content, and to test their effectiveness.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and examine the feasibility of OSCE for novice nurses. Method: The study was designed using a methodological design. Data were collected from January to February, 2005. Nine stations were developed for the examination. Five minutes was allowed for each station. The examination was administered to 2 groups of novice nurses. Results: OSCE for clinical performance improvement which consisted of nine 5-minute long stations, was developed. Those stations were tested by 79 beginning nurses who were divided into 2 groups. Reliability ranges for Cronbach's alpha were $0.399{\sim}0.811$ and the mean value was 0.797. Total mean score for the OSCE was 66.75. Total score for the 2nd group was significantly higher than the 1st group. The nurses were satisfied with the OSCE method and process. Conclusion: The OSCE can be an effective tool for evaluating clinical nursing skills in novice nurse. More reliable and valid stations need to be developed and then repeated evaluation of the nurses can be done.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system, required for accreditation of nursing education. Methods: A methodological design was used. To ensure the theoretical validity of the evaluation system, learning objectives for nursing education programs and job descriptions for nurses in Korea were verified by analyzing the relationships in the five attributes of the nursing leadership concept. The nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system was developed based on the Kim & Park's developmental model (2008). Results: The nursing leadership program outcome evaluation system was established, including implementation level, education curriculum, level of performance, evaluation method, rubrics, and Close-the-Loop. Conclusion: The developed evaluation system can be actively used in nursing education, and contribute to enhancing the leadership competencies of nursing students and graduate nurses.
