A Study on the Investment Level and Administrative Competence of Information Security by Industry (산업별 정보보안의 투자 수준과 관리 역량에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine what are the important variables for information security compliance and whether the information security investment by the industry is different. To comply with the information security policies, the organization must establish measures to prevent or resolve information security incidents. This research process consists of four stages, and the analysis method was conducted with the categorical regression analysis and the correspondence analysis. The first analysis analyzed the independent variables that affect security regulations compliance. The rest of the analysis was conducted by industry in the order of security compliance regulations, manpower investment, and budget investment. As a result of the first analysis, this had positive effects on an organization and personal information protection awareness, joint operation organization of information protection, manpower and budget investment, corporate size, and industry. The correspondence analysis was conducted from the second analysis to the fourth analysis and it analyzed the differences in information security investment by industry. The second analysis showed that the construction industry, science and technology industry, and finance industry have higher compliance with security regulations than other industries. The third analysis showed that the financial industry and the science and technology industry were higher than other industries. The last analysis showed that the financial industry was higher than other industries. The theoretical contribution of this study provided the basis for updating the information security theory. The practical contribution of this study requires government support to reduce information security deviations by industry.

Analysis of The Effects of Information Security Policy Sanction, Perceived Threat, and Perception of Information Security Climate on Compliance Behavioral Intention: Focursing on Prospect and Goal Orientation (정보 보안 제재성과 위협 인식, 분위기 인식이 준수 행동 의도성에 미치는 영향 분석: 전망 관점과 목표 지향 관점을 중심으로)

  • This study evaluates the impact of an information security policy sanction, a perceived threat, and the perception of the information security climate on a compliance behavioral intention. The research method was structured with a cross-sectional study design for the prospect and goal orientation. The variables used in the analysis are information security policy sanction, perceived threat, perception of information security climate, and compliance behavioral intention. Progress in this research consists of measuring the prospect and goal orientation, and then measuring the four variables. As a result, the prospect had a significant effect on the perception of the information security climate, and it was found that the influence of the gain-based condition was greater than the loss-based condition. Goal orientation had a significant effect on the information security policy sanction, the perceived threat, and the compliance behavioral intention, and the influence of the development-based condition was greater than the stability-based condition. Both prospect and goal orientation had an interactive effect on the compliance behavioral intention. The exploration model was verified as a mediation model. In addition, the discussion includes the appropriate implications for information security based on these research results.

The Effects of an Empowerment Education Program for Kidney Transplantation Patients (신장이식환자를 위한 능력증강교육프로그램 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop an Empowerment Education Program (EEP) for kidney transplant patients and to test the program's effects on uncertainty, self-care ability, and compliance. Methods: The research was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. The participants were 53 outpatients (experimental group: 25, control group: 28) who were receiving hospital treatment after kidney transplants. After the pre-test, patients in the experimental group underwent a weekly EEP for six weeks. The post-test was conducted immediately after, and four weeks after the program's completion in the same manner as the pre-test. For the control group, we conducted a post-test six and ten weeks after the pre-test, without and program intervention. A repeated measure ANOVA was performed to compare the change scores on main outcomes. Results: Uncertainty was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group, both immediately after (t=-3.84, p=<.001) and 4 weeks after (t=-4.51 p=<.001) the program, whereas self-care ability (t=5.81, p=<.001), (t=5.84, p=<.001) and compliance (t=5.07, p=<.001), (t=5.45, p=<.001) were significantly higher. Conclusion: Kidney transplant patients who underwent an EEP showed a decrease in uncertainty and an improvement in self-care ability and compliance. Thus, our findings confirmed that an EEP can be an independent intervention method for improving and maintaining the health of kidney transplant patients.

The Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Concrete (콘크리트의 피로균열 성장거동에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the wedge splitting tcst (WST) was carried out for the fatigue wack growth behavior of concrete. Selected test variables were concrete compressive strength of 28, 60 and 118 MI%, and stress ratio with 2 levels (6. 13%). In oder to make the designed stress ratio, the maximum and thr minimum fatigue loading level were 75-85% and 5- 10% of ultimate static load, respectively. Fatigue testing was preceded by crack mout.h opening displacement (CMOI)) compliance calibration tcst, and then the fatigue crack growth was computed by crack lcngth vs. (lMOI) compliance relations acquisited by the CMOD compliance calibration technique. To evaluate thc validity of CMOD compliancc calibration techniquc, the crack length p~mlicted by this method was cornpard with the crack length by linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFIbl) and dyeing test. On the basis of the experimental results, a LRFhl-based c.mpirica1 model for f'at,igue crack growth rate(da/dN-AKI relationships) was presented. The fat,igut. crack growth ratc increased with the strength of concwtc. It appcars that t.he da/tiN-AKI relationships was influenced by stress ratio, however, the effect is diminished with an increase of strength. The comparisons between CblOl) compliance calibration technique anti the other. methods gave the validity of' ('MOD compliance calibration technique for the LZXT.

Optimal stiffness distribution in preliminary design of tubed-system tall buildings

  • This paper presents an optimal pattern for distributing stiffness along a framed tube structure through an analytic equation, which may be used during the preliminary design stage. Most studies in this field are computationally intensive and time consuming, while a hand-calculation method, as presented here, is a more suitable tool for sensitivity analyses and parametric studies. Approach in development of the analytic model is to minimize the mean compliance (external work) for a given volume of material. A variational statement of the problem is made, and a specified deformation-profile is obtained as the necessary condition for a minimum; enforcing this condition, stiffness is then computed. Due to some near-zero values for stiffness, the problem is modified by considering a lower bound constraint. To deal with this constraint, the design domain is assumed to be divided into two zones of constant stiffness and constant curvature; and the problem is restated in terms of these concepts. It will be shown that this methodology allows for easy computation of stiffness through an analytic and dimensionless equation, valid in any system of units. To show practicality of the proposed method, a tubed-system structure with uniform stiffness distribution is redesigned using the proposed model. Comparative analyses of the results reveal that in addition to simplicity of the proposed method, it provides a rather high degree of accuracy for real-world problems.

Evaluation on High Temperature Fracture toughness of Pressure Vessel SA516/70 Steel (압력용기용 SA516/70강의 고온파괴인성평가)

  • Elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{lc}$ can be used as an effective design criterion in elastic plastic fracture mechanics. Most of these systems are$J_{lc}$ $J_{lc}$ value at high temperature must be determined for use of integrity evaluation and designing of such systems. Elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{lc}$ tests were performed on SA516/70 carbon steel plate and test results were analyzed according to ASTM E 813-87, ASTM E 813-89 and ASTM E 1152-87.safety and integrity are required for reactor pressure vessels because, they are operated in high temperature. There are single specimen method, which used as evaluation of safety and integrity for reactor pressure vessels. In this study, elastic-plastic fracture toughness($J_{lc}$) and J-$\Delta$a of SA 516/70 steel used as reactor pressure vessel steel are measured and evaluated at room temperature, 150$^{\circ}C $, 250$^{\circ}C $ and 370$^{\circ}C $ according to unloading compliance method.

A Simplified Method for Creep Analysis of R/C Beams (철근콘크리트 보의 크리이프 단순 해석법)

  • This paper deals with the development of simplified methods to predict the creep deformation of reinforced concrete beams. The layer approach based on a degenerate kernel of compliance function in form of Dirichlet series is mentioned and a simplified analytical method derived from the equilibrium equations and compatibility conditions is proposed to overcome the sophisticated calculation procedures in the classical creep analysis. Correlation studies between analytical and experimental results and design codes are conducted with the objective to establish the validity of the proposed methods. Besides, various parameter studies are conducted with the objective to identify the effects of cracking, steel ratio and sectional shape in the creep deformation and the obtained results are discussed.

  • In this study, we suggest the selecting evaluation method considering 6 major factors like Compliance system application (Development language conformance, Platform Compliance), threat evaluation (criticality of security incident, possibility of security incident), application benefit (Reliability / quality improvement, Modify Cost) for appropriate secure coding rule selecting evaluation. Using this method, we selected and make a set consist of 197 secure coding rules for Battlefield Management System Software. And calculated the application priority for each rules.

REVIEW OF DYNAMIC LOADING J-R TEST METHOD FOR LEAK BEFORE BREAK OF NUCLEAR PIPING

  • In order to apply the leak before break (LBB) concept to nuclear piping systems, the dynamic strain aging effect of low carbon steel materials has to be taken into account, in compliance with the requirements of the Korean Standard Review Guide (KSRG) 3.6.3-1. For this goal, J-R tests are needed for a range of various temperatures and loading rates, including dynamic loading conditions. In the dynamic loading J-R test, the unloading compliance method can not be applied to measure the crack growth and direct current potential drop (DCPD) method; this method also has a problem defining the crack initiation point. The normalization method is known as a very useful method to determine the J-R curve under dynamic loading because it does not need additional equipment or complicated loading sequences such as electric current or unloading. This method was accepted by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) as a standard test method E1820 A15 in 2001. However, it has not yet been clearly verified yet if the normalization method is sufficiently reliable to be applied to LBB. In this study, the basic background of the J-integral, LBB and dynamic loading J-R test are explained, and the current status for dynamic loading J-R test methods are reviewed from the view point of LBB for nuclear piping. In particular, the theoretical and historical background of the normalization method which has received attention recently, is summarized. Recent studies for this method are introduced and future works are suggested that may improve the reliability of LBB for nuclear piping.
