This paper deals with the consideration of mathematical models with regards to growth of cluster and firms by reviewing the Metcalf and Breuner's articles. prior studies have been argued the phenomenon of local industrial clusters and districts. Several concepts have been adopted to support the success of and changes to these clusters and firm growth. Through the review of two papers, evolution of both cluster and firm growth may be achieved in terms of utilizations of the different local aspects and mechanisms. This paper supports the theoretical back bone with regards to the regional cluster policy implementing in Korea for the purpose of regional developments. In particular, a mathematical model that, on a more abstract level, captures the fundamental dynamic structure of all the observed mechanisms. On the basis of this model, the emergence and evolution of local clusters can be described. Also this model has given that the knowledge sharing between firms has an important role to firms and cluster' growth.

Air Motion Systems, Inc(대표 Stephen Metcalf)가 개발 공급하고 있는 LED UV램프가 새롬인쇄(대표 장순성)에 국내 1호로 도입됐다. AMS에서 공급하고 있는 LED-UV시스템은 기존의 UV 경화 장치가 전력 소모가 크고 오존이 발생하며 발열이 많아 사용상에 여러 가지 제약이 많았던 것을 획기적으로 개선한 것이 특징이다. AMS의 LED UV램프는 마이크로컨트롤스(대표 조병우)가 아시아 지역을, LH코퍼레이션이 국내를 담당하고 있다.

We observed Comet Machholz (C/2004Q2) using the BOES (BOao Echelle Spectograph) at the Bohyunsan Observatory on January 4, 2005. We have studied a wavelength range of $4800{\sim}8100{\AA}$ in order to investigate unidentified spectral lines in the high-resolution spectra of Machholz. We compared the Machholz spectra with the high-resolution spectra of previous comets: Swift-Tuttle, Brorsen-Metcalf, Austin, and 122P/de Vico. We identified many molecular lines, which are previously unknown; and these identifications will be useful information for studying high-resolution spectra of future comets.

Aggregate and solitary zooids of salps were collected from April 2001 to June 2009. By the analyses based on the morphological characteristics, four species in the genus Cyclosalpa of the subfamily Cyclosalpinae are identified as new records in Korean waters: Cyclosalpa affinis (Chamisso, 1819), Cyclosalpa bakeri Ritter, 1905, Cyclosalpa sewelli Metcalf, 1927, and Cyclosalpa polae Sigl, 1912. These species are re-described with illustrations and photographs in this study. In addition, a key to species of the genus Cyclosalpa in Korean waters and a key to the life cycles of Salpida are provided. As a result of this study twelve species in the Salpidae have been reported from Korea until now.

우리는 Machholz 혜성(C/2004Q2)의 가시광선 영역 스펙트럼 (황성원 외, 2009, JASS, v. 26, p. 279)과 기존의 연구 문헌에 나오는 Austin, Swift-Tuttle, Brorsen-Metcalf 및 de Vico 혜성의 가시광선 영역 고분산 분광 자료와 비교 분석해 방출선의 파장 및 그 원인이 되는 물질을 확인했다. 그 결과 Machholz 혜성의 방출선은 대부분 $C_2,\;NH_2,\;CN,\;H_2O^+$에 의한 것으로 나타났으며, 기존의 혜성 자료에서 알려지지 않은 미확인 방출선도 발견됐다. 또한, 주로 장파장 영역에서 나타나는 OH 방출선을 지구대기의 OH 방출선 자료와 비교 분석한 결과, Maccholz 혜성 고유의 OH일 가능성이 있는 방출선도 확인됐다. 본 연구에서 정리한 Machholz 혜성 및 다른 혜성들과의 비교 자료는 데이터베이스화하여 공개한다.

The planthopper subfamily Achilinae (Metcalf, 1938) from Korea is taxonomically revised. Six genera and seven species are recorded among Korean fauna. Among them, one genus, Phenelia Kirkaldy, and two species, Phenelia striatella (Matsumura, 1914) and Deferunda qiana Chen and He (2010) are new to Korea. The male genital structures of all these species are described and illustrated, plus an identification key to the tribe, genus, and species is provided.

Compared with Cathy Song and Myung-Mi Kim, Suji Kwock Kim is yet to be known in Korea, even though she won prestigious American literary awards like the Walt Whitman Award from the Academy of American Poets and the Addison Metcalf Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for her debut book of poems, Notes from the Divided Country. Although she was born and raised in the United States and had little knowledge of Korean at first, she came to recognize her identity and be familiar by and by with Korean history. The knowledge of the facts that Korea had been ravaged by foreign forces and suffered from the Japanese colonization and the Korean War aches her soul, and this soul-aching is aggravated by her ancestors' direct experiences of those Korean historical tragedies. But this book of poems does not contain poems regarding Korean history alone. The first part shows her guilty consciouseness for her brother and sister, who are suggested to be physically abnormal or mentally retarded. The third and fourth parts are filled with poems of very diverse subject matters, tones, and themes. Of those poems, "Monologue for an Onion" is probably most worthy of special attention. It is not only a searing indictment for human folly but also a very intriguing poetic rendering of Nietzschean ultimate lessson. Her achievement in the first book of poems makes us eagerly wait for the second one, which is, reportedly, forthcoming sooner or later.
