The usual method of classification for metal poor stars is based on the normal standard stars. In this study, we show that among the sample of stars classified by this method, a systematic bias in the observed classes of metal weakness is found and, also that this method is not appropriate for classification of metal poor stars, by showing that the spectral line dependences on the temperature and pressure in the extreme metal poor stars are different from those in the normal standard stars. Therefore, we suggest that the 3-dimensional classification system, like 2-dimensional MK system, is necessary for an accurate classification of metal poor stars.
Titanium dioxide films $(TiO_2)$ doped cobalt transition metal were prepared on titanium metal by water spray pyrolysis technique. Micro-morphology, crystalline structure, chemical composition and binding state of sample groups were evaluated using field emission scanning microscope(FE-SEM), X-ray diffractometer(XRD), Raman spectrometer, X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS). $TiO_2$ films of rutile structure were predominately formed on all sample groups and $Ti_2O_3$ oxide was coexisted on the surface of cobalt doped-sample groups. The optical absorption peaks measured by using UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer were observed at specific wavelength region in sample groups doped cobalt ion. This result could be analyzed by introducing crystal field theory.
As a basic study for the removal of oxygen in solid Nd metal by metal Ca vapour, by using the thermodynamic data such as ${\Delta}G-T$ diagrams and Nd-O and Nd-Ca equilibrium diagrams, the amount of residual oxygen in solid Nd metal formed based on deoxidation reaction by Ca vapour, instead of by direct contact of solid Nd metal and Ca solution, was determined. Deoxidation experiments were carried out for solid Nd metal in a temperature range of $890{\sim}970^{\circ}C$ for 1h to 4h and content of addition Ca of 0.6~1.8 g (5~15 wt% of solid Nd metal). As a result, it was found that as deoxidation temperature increased, dissolved oxygen decreased. Especially, it was observed that a small amount of Nd-Ca alloy liquid was formed on the surface of the solid Nd metal sample deoxidized at $970^{\circ}C$ for approximately 1 hour. Also, it was found that if the content of addition Ca was 1.8 g (15 wt% of solid Nd metal) the amount of produced Nd-Ca alloy increased slightly. However, for the Nd sample with which the deoxidation reaction was performed at $930^{\circ}C$ for 4h with content of addition of Ca of 1.5 g (13 wt% of Nd metal), the residual oxygen was found to decreased to 12.00 ppm.
The removal effectiveness of various heavy metal ions in boron-rich containing plants has been studied by means of spectroscopic and pH methods. Treatment of the boron-rich containing sample which was collected from cherry and root of cabbage to heavy metal ions is resulted in that an excellent removal effect shows in the case of large ionic size of heavy metal. Stability constants are depended on the variation of pH.
The effect of a sputter deposition sequence of Cu, Zn, and Sn metal layers on the properties of $Cu_2ZnSnS_4$ (CZTS) was systematically studied for solar cell applications. The set of Cu/Sn/Zn/Cu multi metal films was deposited on a Mo/$SiO_2$/Si wafer using dc sputtering. CZTS films were prepared through a sulfurization process of the Cu/Sn/Zn/Cu metal layers at $500^{\circ}C$ in a $H_2S$ gas environment. $H_2S$ (0.1%) gas of 200 standard cubic centimeters per minute was supplied in the cold-wall sulfurization reactor. The metal film prepared by one-cycle deposition of Cu(360 nm)/Sn(400 nm)/Zn(400 nm)/Cu(440 nm) had a relatively rough surface due to a well-developed columnar structure growth. A dense and smooth metal surface was achieved for two- or three-cycle deposition of Cu/Sn/Zn/Cu, in which each metal layer thickness was decreased to 200 nm. Moreover, the three-cycle deposition sample showed the best CZTS kesterite structures after 5 hr sulfurization treatment. The two- and three-cycle Cu/Sn/Zn/Cu samples showed high-efficient photoluminescence (PL) spectra after a 3 hr sulfurization treatment, wheres the one-cycle sample yielded poor PL efficiency. The PL spectra of the three-cycle sample showed a broad peak in the range of 700-1000 nm, peaked at 870 nm (1.425 eV). This result is in good agreement with the reported bandgap energy of CZTS.

We introduce a new project of constructing a large spectro-photometric samples of metal-poor (i.e. [Fe/H] < -1.0) subdwarfs in the Galactic halo. The sample is collected from a compilation of the stellar objects that are cross-identified both in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and recently published data from GAIA mission. The color range of the selected stars covers 0.0 < (g-r) < 2.0; thus the spectral types of our sample span from early F- through late K-type stars on the metal-poor main sequence (i.e. the local subdwarf sequence). We scrutinized the physical, chemical, and kinematical properties of our samples using their SDSS medium-resolution (R ~ 2000) spectra, combined with accurately measured proper motions from GAIA satellite. Our study will provide useful information on the global trend in the various properties (e.g. abundance pattern as a function of the galactocentric distance; rotational velocity vs [Fe/H] ${\cdots}$ etc) of the metal-poor subdwarf populations in the Galactic halo, which is ultimately important to better understand metal-poor stellar evolutionary models and chemical evolution of the Milky Way halo in the early phase of its formation. Further our comprehensive catalog of the Galactic field halo subdwarfs collected in this study will serve a solid groundwork for future follow-up high resolution spectroscopic observations on many interesting individual targets.
In order to densify LAS(Lithuim Aluminosilicate)system compounds, we used metal alkoxides as precursors. Also Mg was added by sol-gel method using metal alkoxides to the LAS system for improving the sinterability, thermal and mechanical properties. The result was that the synthesizing temperature was lowered about 10$0^{\circ}C$, the sintering temperature was lowered by over 10$0^{\circ}C$ and MOR of samples from metal alkoxides was two times larger than that of sample form oxide.

An X-ray diffractometer for spatially resolved X-ray diffraction measurements was developed to identify phase in the narrow (micron-scaled) region of high burn-up fuels and some nuclear materials. The micro-XRD was composed of an X-ray microbeam alignment system and a sample micro translation system instead of a normal slit and a fixed sample stage in a commercial XRD. The X-ray microbeam alignment system was fabricated with a microbeam concentrator having two Ni deposited mirrors, a vertical positioner, and a tilt table for the generation of a concentrated microbeam. The sample micro translation system was made with a sample holder and a horizontal translator, allowing movement of a specimen at $5{\mu}m$ steps. The angular intensity profile of the microbeam generated through a concentrator was symmetric and not distorted. The size of the microbeam was $4,000{\times}20{\mu}m$ and the spatial resolution of the beam was $47{\mu}m$ at the sample position. When the diffraction peaks were measured for a $UO_2$ pellet specimen by this system, the reproducibility ($2{\Theta}={\pm}0.01^{\circ}$) of the peaks was as good as a conventional X-ray diffractometer. For the cross section of oxidized titanium metal, not only $TiO_2$ in an outer layer but also TiO near an oxide-metal interface was observed.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of sintering condition on the microstructure evolution and tensile properties of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy sample processed by metal injection molding (MIM) in terms of the sizes of the alpha morphology and pore found in the matrix. For this purpose, a series of MIM were conducted on this sample at various sintering temperatures ranging from 1173 to 1373 K for three hours followed by furnace cooling, observed by the scanning electron microscopy. The microstructures sintered in this study showed that, with increasing sintering temperature over beta transus temperature, the transformation of the equiaxed alpha into transformed beta was attained while the size of pores would tend to decrease. Thus, the strength remained unchanged significantly in the tension while ductility increased to some extent as sintering temperature increased. Such mechanical behavior would be explained in relation to the microstructure evolution of the Ti-6Al-4V sample via the MIM.
For use of the thermal cycle of the biochemical fluid sample, the isothermal temperature source with a large surface area was designed, fabricated and its thermal characterization was experimentally evaluated. The comprehensive overview of the technology trend on the temperature control devices was detailed. The large surface area isothermal temperature source was realized by using the vapor chamber heat spreader. The cost-effectiveness and simple manufacturing process were achieved by using the metal-etched wick structure. The temperature distribution was quantitatively investigated by using IR temperature imaging system at equivalent temperatures to the PCR thermal cycle. The standard deviation was measured to be within 0.7$^{\circ}C$ for each temperature cycle. This concludes that the presented isothermal temperature source enables no temperature gradient inside bio-sample fluid. Furthermore it can be applied to the cooling of the electronic devices due to its slimness and low thermal spreading resistance.
