In this study, composite PAN-based ACNFs embedded with MgO and $MnO_2$ were prepared by the electrospinning method. The resultant pristine ACNFs, ACNF/MgO and $ACNF/MnO_2$ were characterized in terms of their morphological changes, SSA, crystallinity and functional group with FESEM-EDX, the BET method, XRD and FTIR analysis, respectively. Results from this study showed that the SSA of the ACNF/MgO composite ($1893m^2g^{-1}$) is significantly higher than that of the pristine ACNFs and $ACNF/MnO_2$ which is 478 and $430m^2g^{-1}$, respectively. FTIR analysis showed peaks of 476 and $547cm^{-1}$, indicating the presence of MgO and $MnO_2$, respectively. The FESEM micrographs analysis showed a smooth but coarser structure in all the ACNFs. Meanwhile, the ACNF/MgO has the smallest fiber diameter ($314.38{\pm}62.42nm$) compared to other ACNFs. The presence of MgO and $MnO_2$ inside the ACNFs was also confirmed with EDX analysis as well as XRD. The adsorption capacities of each ACNF toward $CH_4$ were tested with the volumetric adsorption method in which the ACNF/MgO exhibited the highest $CH_4$ adsorption up to $2.39mmol\;g^{-1}$. Meanwhile, all the ACNF samples followed the pseudo-second order kinetic model with a $R^2$ up to 0.9996.
Al-Fe-V-Si alloys reinforced with SiC particles were prepared by multi-layer spray deposition technique. Both microstructures and mechanical properties including hardness and tensile properties development during hot exposure process of Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si, Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si/15 vol% $SiC_P$ and Al-10.0Fe-1.3V-2Si/15 vol% $SiC_P$ were investigated. The experimental results showed that an amorphous interface of about 3 nm in thickness formed between SiC particles and the matrix. SiC particles injected silicon into the matrix; thus an elevated silicon concentration was found around $\alpha-Al_{12}(Fe,\;V)_3Si$ dispersoids, which subsequently inhibited the coarsening and decomposition of $\alpha-Al_{12}(Fe,\;V)_3Si$ dispersoids and enhanced the thermostability of the alloy matrix. Moreover, the thermostability of microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-10.0Fe-1.3V-2Si/15 vol% $SiC_P$ are of higher quality than those of Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si/15 vol% $SiC_P$.
Gold have been used as an electrode materials having a good mechanical flexibility as well as electrical conductivity, however the stretchability of the gold on a flexible substrate is poor because of its small elastic modulus. To overcome this mechanical inferiority, the reinforcing gold is necessary for the stretchable electronics. Among the reinforcing materials having a large elastic modulus, carbon nanotube (CNT) is the best candidate due to its good electrical conductivity and nanoscale diameter. Therefore, similarly to ferroconcrete technology, here we demonstrated gold electrodes mechanically reinforced by inserting fabrics of CNTs into their bodies. Flexibility and stretchability of the electrodes were determined for various densities of CNT fabrics. The roles of CNTs in resisting electrical disconnection of gold electrodes from the mechanical stress were confirmed using field emission scanning electron microscope and optical microscope. The best mechanical stability was achieved at a density of CNT fabrics manufactured by 1.5 ml spraying. The concept of the mechanical reinforced metal electrode by CNT is the first trial for the high stretchable conductive materials, and can be applied as electrodes materials in various flexible and stretchable electronic devices such as transistor, diode, sensor and solar cell and so on.
Semiconducting metal oxides have been frequently used as gas sensing materials. While zinc oxide is a popular material for such applications, structures such as nanowires, nanorods and nanotubes, due to their large surface area, are natural candidates for use as gas sensors of higher sensitivity. The compound ZnO has been studied, due to its chemical and thermal stability, for use as an n-type semiconducting gas sensor. ZnO has a large exciton binding energy and a large bandgap energy at room temperature. Also, ZnO is sensitive to toxic and combustible gases. The NO gas properties of zinc oxide-single wall carbon nanotube (ZnO-SWCNT) composites were investigated. Fabrication includes the deposition of porous SWCNTs on thermally oxidized $SiO_2$ substrates followed by sputter deposition of Zn and thermal oxidation at $400^{\circ}C$ in oxygen. The Zn films were controlled to 50 nm thicknesses. The effects of microstructure and gas sensing properties were studied for process optimization through comparison of ZnO-SWCNT composites with ZnO film. The basic sensor response behavior to 10 ppm NO gas were checked at different operation temperatures in the range of $150-300^{\circ}C$. The highest sensor responses were observed at $300^{\circ}C$ in ZnO film and $250^{\circ}C$ in ZnO-SWCNT composites. The ZnO-SWCNT composite sensor showed a sensor response (~1300%) five times higher than that of pure ZnO thin film sensors at an operation temperature of $250^{\circ}C$.

Electrochemical hydrogenation/dehydrogenation properties were studied for a single particle of a Mm-based(Mm : minh metal) hydrogen storage alloy($MmNi_{3.55}Co_{0.75}Mn_{0.4}Al_{0.3}$) for fuel cell and Ni-MH batteries. A carbon fiber microelectrode was manipulated to make electrical contact with an alloy particle, and the potential-step experiment was carried out to determine the apparent chemical diffusion coefficient of hydrogen atom($D_{app}$) in the alloy. Since the alloy particle we used here was a dense, conductive sphere, the spherical diffusion model was employed for data analysis. $D_{app}$ was found to vary the order between $10^{-9}\;and\;10^{-10}[cm^2/s]$ over the course of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation process. Compared with the conventional composite film electrodes, the single particle measurements using the microelectrode gave more detailed, true information about the hydrogen storage alloy.
This paper investigates the influence of material properties of the acoustic damping layer in the low noise hydrophone designed in the previous paper. For increase of the insensitivity of the hydrophone to external noises, acoustic impedance and damping coefficients are selected and the effects of the selected material property on the hydrophone response to the external noises are simulated with finite element method (FEM). The results show that the damping coefficients are not influential to the structural vibration decoupling from the sensing element. On the other hand, the optimum acoustic impedance of compliant layer is estimated which is smaller than 1 Mrayl or larger than 4 Mrayl. However polymer materials, which are in general use for acoustic window and damping layers, is not appropriate for the compliant materials of this hydrophone. Therefore development of new composite materials, i.e. ceramic-polymer composite or metal-ceramic composites etc., is required for the development of effective self noise suppressing underwater hydrophones.

It should be noted that the use of the lathe scrap for making fiber reinforced cementitious composites(FRCCs) raised friendly environmental effect as well as economy because the lathe scrap is a by-product of steel manufactures and is occurred when lathe and milling works of them are conducted to process steel manufactures. Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of measurements of lathe scrap on the characteristics of FRCCs. For this purpose, various lathe scraps were collected from processing plants of metal, and then these were processed 10mm, 20mm, and 40mm in lengths for 2mm and 4mm in widths, respectively. FRCCs containing lathe scraps were made according to their widths and lengths, and then characteristics such as the workability, compressive strength, and flexural strength of those were evaluated. As a result, it was observed from the test results that the optimum measurements of the lathe scrap for manufacturing FRCCs was 2mm in width and 40mm in length.
PEDOT-$TiO_2$ hybrid conductive thin film including semiconductive metal oxide was successfully prepared via simultaneous vapor phase polymerization (VPP). The mechanical properties such as pencil hardness and anti-scratch property as well as optoelectrical properties of PEDOT-$TiO_2$ hybrid thin film could be improved as compared with pristine PEDOT thin film. Physicochemically stable crosslinked $TiO_2$ layer derived from a sol-gel process by FTS was generated in the PEDOT thin film layer by simultaneous VPP, resulting in improving mechanical properties of the hybrid thin films without any deterioration of their original optoelectrical properties. PEDOT-$TiO_2$ hybrid thin film showed better electrical conductivity as compared with PEDOT film. It might be due to the fact that the surface morphology of hybrid thin film prepared by simultaneous VPP showed smoother than that of pristine PEDOT thin film.
This study was to analyze the stress distribution of implant and supporting tissue in $Br{\aa}nemark$ osseointegration implant. The analysis has been conducted by using the axisymmetric finite element method and type of model according to crown material. Tests have been performed at 1 kg load on central fossa of crown portion. Each type of model was designed differently according to crown material. 1) Porcelain fused to metal crown(Model A) 2) Composite resin veneered crown(Model B) 3) Acrylic resin veneered crown(Model C) 4) Type III gold crown(Model D) The displacements and stresses of implant and supporting structures were analyzed to investigate the influence of the type of crown material. The results were obtained as follows : 1. Displacement of implant was shown uniformly downward displacement in all models and abutments were observed distally downward displacement. 2. In supporting tissues, stress was concentrated on the crest of compact bone and the spongy bone below implant. 3. The PFM and the type III gold crown showed the largest concentration of stress at the crest of compact bone and the spongy bone below implant, respectively. Acrylic resin artificial teeth and composite resin veneered crown indicated almost the same distribution of stress. 4. The gold screw, the abutment screw and the top of abutment showed the concentration of stress in implants of every model.

Nowadays, non-pollution energy sources have been strongly needed because of the exhaustion of fossil fuels and serious environmental problems. Because wind energy can be enormously obtained from natural atmosphere, this type of energy has lots of advantages in a economic and pollution point of view. This study has established the aerodynamic and structural design procedure of the rotor blade with an appropriate aerodynamic performance and structural strength for the 500㎾ medium class wind turbine system. The aerodynamic configuration of the rotor blade was determined by considering the wind condition in the typical local operation region, and based on this configuration aerodynamic performance analysis was performed. The rotor blade has the shell-spar structure based on glass/epoxy composite material and is composed of shank including metal joint parts and blade. Structural design was done by the developed design program in this study and structural analysis, for instance stress analysis, mode analysis and fatigue life estimation, was performed by the finite element method. As a result, a medium scale wind turbine rotor blade with starting characteristics of 4m/s wind speed, rated power of 500㎾ at 12m/s wind speed and over 20 years fatigue life has been designed.
