As devices such as smartphones, tablet PC, and wearable devices have been miniaturized, the connectors that go into the devices are also designed to be very small. The connector combines the plug and the receptacle to transfer electricity. As devices are miniaturized, the contact shape is formed by partially thinning the thickness of the raw material of the terminal in order to lower the coupling height of the plug and receptacle. The product used in this study is a receptacle terminal used for 0.4mm pitch board to board connector among fine pitch connectors. When the material thickness is reduced by forging the receptacle terminal, the width change of the pin is checked. To reduce the thickness of the material by forging, pre-notching is applied in the first step, forging in the second step, and notching in the third step. After forming the width dimension of the pin to 0.28 mm in the pre-notching process, in the forging process, the material thickness 0.08 mm and 0.02 mm (25%) were forged and the thickness was changed to 0.06 mm and the width change amount of the pin was measured. The facility produced 10,000 pieces at 400 SPM using a Yamada Dobby (MXM-40L) press, and thirty pins were measured and the average value was shown. After forging by using C5210-H (HP) and NKT322-EH, which are frequently used in connectors, analyze the amount of change in each material. The effect of punching oil on forging is investigated by appling FM-200M, which is highly viscous, and FL-212, fast drying oil. This study aims to minimize mold modification by predicting the amount of material change after forging.

Springback is a common phenomenon in sheet metal forming, caused by the elastic recovery of the internal stresses after removal of the tooling. Recently, advanced high strength steels (AHSS) such as TRIP and DP are finding acceptance in the automotive industry because their superior strength to weight ratio can lead to improved fuel efficiency and assessed crashworthiness of vehicles. The major troubles of the automotive structural members stamped with high strength steel sheets are the tendency of the large amount of springback due to the high yield strength and the tensile strength. The amount of springback is mainly influenced by the type of the yield function and anisotropic model induced by rolling. The discrepancy of the deep drawn product comparing the data of from the product design induced by springback must be compensated at the tool design stage in order to guarantee its function and assembly with other parts. The methodology of compensation of the low shape accuracy induced by large amount of springback is developed by the expert engineer in the industry. Recently, the numerical analysis is introduced in order to predict the amount of springback and to improve the shape accuracy prior to tryout stage of press working. In this paper, the tendency of springback is evaluated with respect to the blank material. The stamping process is analyzed fur the front side member formed with AHSS sheets such as TRIP60 and DP60. The analysis procedure fully covers the binderwrap, stamping, trimming and springback process with the commercial elasto-plastic finite element code LS-DYNA3D.

The shape of press components is becoming increasingly complex due to customer demands, process shortening and cost savings. In addition, the stability of the pressing process frequently varies during mass production due to the influence of many factors. In order to ensure the process stability, it is necessary to establish a process in which reproducibility is realized in tolerance, which is sufficient for advance study of shape, material, press, mold and lubrication. However, unforeseen changes in process parameters cause disruptions in production line shutdowns and production planning. In this paper, we introduce a method to monitor a real time process by applying a sensor to a press mold. A non-contact type sensor for measuring the flow of a sheet material and an example of an experiment using the optical sensor which is highly applicable to mass production are presented. An optical sensor was installed in a cylindrical drawing mold to test its potential application while changing the material, blank holder force, and drawing ratio. We also quantitatively determined that the flow of other sheet materials was quantified locally using a square drawing die and that the measured value was always smaller than the drawing depth due to the material elongation. Finally, we propose a field that can be used by attaching the sensor to the press mold. We hope that the consequent cost reduction will contribute to increasing global mold competitiveness.
After manufacturing fermentation system for degrading pig manure using environmentally friendly technique, performance of the system and characteristics of wood chips and pig manure fermented in the system were analyzed. Results from this study shows that proper fermentation temperature($55{\sim}60^{\circ}C$) reached 3days after the system started and degradation rate, which expresses fermentation performance of system, was $180{\iota}$/day. Even as progressing the fermentation of wood chips and pig manure mixture, the amount of extractives drawn out by alkali, and alcohol-benzene and lignin content was not varied. However, ash content in wood was increased. The inorganic compounds in pig manure seem to be transferred into wood chip. On the other hand holocellulose contents in wood were decreased a little. Holocellulose seems to be consumed as the second carbon source in fermentation process. Results through analysis of inorganic- and heavy metal elements contents in wood chips and pig manure fermented in long term process shows that inorganic elements($Ca^{2+},\;Mg^{2+},\;K^+,\;Na^+$ etc.) contents were increased with fermentation time and heavy metal elements(Cd, As, Cu etc.) which cause environmental pollution were not detected. Number of microorganisms including bacteria, actinomycetes, and fungi, the number of C.F.U(Colony Forming Unit) was increased while temperature in fermentation system was abruptly increased.

Since various methods to form well-aligned nano-/micro- patterns are underlying technologies to fabricate next generation wearable electronic devices, many efforts have been made to realize finer patterns in recent years. Among lots of patterning methods, the present invention includes a nano-transfer printing (n-TP) process which is advantageous in that a processing cost is low and high-resolution patterns can be formed within a short processing time. We successfully achieved pattern formation of highly ordered Pt lines with line-width of 250 nm, 500 nm, and $1{\mu}m$ on transparent and flexible substrates. In addition, we analyzed the durability of the patterns, showing excellent stability of line-shape even after a physical and repeated bending test of 500 times using a bending machine. As a result, it is expected that a n-TP process is very useful for forming various metal patterns, and it is also expected to be applied to wiring and interconnection technology of next generation flexible electronic devices.
One of resins, V-Flon is useful as a coating material because YK-D80, which is a solvent for V-Flon, is not highly volatile. However, it can not completely harden and can flow out when metal artifacts are joined and restored in the process of the treatment. Therefore, after the impregnation process in order to accelerate the hardening speed of a coating material, usually a dry oven was adopted. This study focused on finding the problems on the dry oven which is employed to increase the speed and investigating the most effective solvent and its composition by checking any change occurred depending on the concentration of solvents. Six different types of solvents were selected and samples were prepared in a manner that they were impregnated with solvents in three concentrations respectively (10%, 20%, 30%). To determine the condition of the samples, the stability evaluation was performed by measuring the change of color and the gloss, the thickness of coated layers, the corrosion after coating, the water resistance by contact angles. Through the comparative experiments between the natural drying and the artificial drying using a dry oven, it was found that when the dry oven is used, some problems are identified on the point of forming a uniform and stable layer because of the unstable data collected from the forced artificial dry. The experiments performed using 3 different concentration rates (10%, 20%, 30%) presented that in the case of 10% V-Flon in Xylene (using as a solvent), its layer was thin as well as it showed the high water-barrier property, which allows it to form the stably coated layer with the lower gloss and color change.
The characteristics of high heat input (342kJ/cm) EG (Electro Gas Arc) welded joint of EH36-TM steel has been investigated. The weld metal microstructure consisted of fine acicular ferrite (AF), a little volume of polygonal ferrite (PF) and grain boundary ferrite (GBF). Charpy impact test results of the weld metal and heat affected zone (HAZ) met the requirement of classification rule (Min. 34J at $-20^{\circ}C$). In order to evaluate the relationship between the impact toughness property and the grain size of HAZ, the austenite grain size of HAZ was measured. The prior austenite grain size in Fusion line (F.L+0.1 mm) was about $350{\mu}m$. The grain size in F.L+1.5 mm was measured to be less than $30{\mu}m$ and this region was identified as being included in FGHAZ(Fine Grain HAZ). It is seen that as the austenite grain size decreases, the size of GBF, FSP (Ferrite Side Plate) become smaller and the impact toughness of HAZ increases. Therefore, the CGHAZ was considered to be area up to 1.3mm away from the fusion line. Results of TEM replica analysis for a welded joint implied that very small size ($0.8\sim1.2{\mu}m$) oxygen inclusions played a role of forming fine acicular ferrite in the weld metal. A large amount of (Ti, Mn, Al)xOy oxygen inclusions dispersed, and oxides density was measured to be 4,600-5,300 (ea/mm2). During the welding thermal cycle, the area near a fusion line was reheated to temperature exceeding $1400^{\circ}C$. However, the nitrides and carbides were not completely dissolved near the fusion line because of rapid heating and cooling rate. Instead, they might grow during the cooling process. TiC precipitates of about 50 ~ 100nm size dispersed near the fusion line.

To get high efficiency n-type crystalline silicon solar cells, passivation is one of the key factor. Tunnel oxide (SiO2) reduce surface recombination as a passivation layer and it does not constrict the majority carrier flow. In this work, the passivation quality enhanced by different chemical solution such as HNO3, H2SO4:H2O2 and DI-water to make thin tunnel oxide layer on n-type crystalline silicon wafer and changes of characteristics by subsequent annealing process and firing process after phosphorus doped amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) deposition. The tunneling of carrier through oxide layer is checked through I-V measurement when the voltage is from -1 V to 1 V and interface state density also be calculated about $1{\times}1012cm-2eV-1$ using MIS (Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) structure . Tunnel oxide produced by 68 wt% HNO3 for 5 min on $100^{\circ}C$, H2SO4:H2O2 for 5 min on $100^{\circ}C$ and DI-water for 60 min on $95^{\circ}C$. The oxide layer is measured thickness about 1.4~2.2 nm by spectral ellipsometry (SE) and properties as passivation layer by QSSPC (Quasi-Steady-state Photo Conductance). Tunnel oxide layer is capped with phosphorus doped amorphous silicon on both sides and additional annealing process improve lifetime from $3.25{\mu}s$ to $397{\mu}s$ and implied Voc from 544 mV to 690 mV after P-doped a-Si deposition, respectively. It will be expected that amorphous silicon is changed to poly silicon phase. Furthermore, lifetime and implied Voc were recovered by forming gas annealing (FGA) after firing process from $192{\mu}s$ to $786{\mu}s$. It is shown that the tunnel oxide layer is thermally stable.
Microstructure evolution and tensile properties of Al-8mass%Mg alloy casting billet by biaxial alternative forging were investigated in this study. An alternative forging system tailored in this study was used to allow continuous strain accumulations on the alloy workpiece. A finite element (FE) simulation results revealed that the strain was mainly concentrated in the core and that the shear bands developed into a form with an X shape in the cross-section of workpiece after the alternative forging using octangular rod shaped dies. With increasing the forging passes, it was observed that the Al-8mass%Mg alloy workpieces were significantly deformed, and cracks began to form and propagate on the both ends of the forged workpieces after five passes at room temperature. In as-forged microstructures taken by microscopes, twins, clustering of dislocations, and fine subgrains were found. Tensile strengths of the forged specimens showed significant increases depending on the number of forging passes, and a trade-off relationship was observed between the elongation and strength. At room temperature and 100℃ the workpieces showed similar behaviors in microstructural evolution and tensile properties depending on forging passes, while the increase range in strength was reduced at 200℃.

Most metals are polycrystalline material whose deformation is dominated by the slip system. During the deformation process, orientation of slip systems is rearranged with preferred orientations, leading to deformation-induced crystallographic texture which is called deformation texture. Depending on the texture development, the property of material can be changed. The rate-independent crystal plasticity which is based on the Schmid law as a yield function causes a non-uniqueness in the choice of active slip systems. In this work, to avoid the slip system ambiguity problem, rate-independent crystal plasticity model based on the smooth yield surface with rounded-off corners is adopted. In order to simulate the polycrystalline material under plastic deformation, we employ the Taylor model of polycrystal behavior that all the grains are assumed to be subjected to the macroscopic velocity gradient. Rigid-plastic finite element program based on this rate-independent crystal plasticity is developed to predict the grain-level deformation behavior of FCC metals during metal forming processes. In the finite element calculation, one integration point is considered as a crystalline aggregate which has a number of crystals. Macroscopic behavior of material can be deduced from the behavior of aggregates. As applications, the extrusion processes are simulated and the changes of mechanical properties are predicted.
