Recently, many organizations have attempted to construct hypermedia systems to expand their working areas to Internet-based virtual work places. For the effective management of the hypermedia application, it is important to develop a technique for managing hypermedia documents, hyperdocuments. This paper employs metadata as it has been conceived as a key approach in document management. Hence, this paper proposes a meta-information system based on metadata, HyDoMIS, for the purpose of hyperdocument manage-ment. This system contains a repository for hyper-documents, which is based on metadata schema and classification. HyDoMIS performs functions such as metadata management, searching and reporting.

Even though we have greater chances to accomplish successful collaborative design by utilizing recent proliferation of networks, current practices do not fully take advantage of the information infrastructure. There are so much data over the networks, but not enough knowledge about the data is available to users. The main objectives of the product data interface system proposed in this paper are to capture more knowledge on managing product data and to provide users effective search capability. We define the metadata model for product data defined in STEP AP 203 and manage the metadata from product data in a repository system. Because we utilize the standard formats such as STEP for product data and RDF for metadata, the proposed approach can be applied to various fields of industries independently on commercial products.

ebXML is the international technical framework specification that enables Internet-based B2B electronic business using XML, It was standardized by UN/CEFACT and OASIS on May 2001. Registry and Repository is the core of ebXML. It supports registry services which is composed of object management service and object query management service. The object management service manages the object's life cycle and the object query management service provides a mechanism to approach metadata of stored objects. Up to now, implementations of ebXML Registry object query management system don't support full functions of the specification completely. We implemented all the functions of ebXML Registry Service Specification vl.0. This system supports Browse ＆ Drilldown Query, Filter Query, SQL Query, and Object Retrieval Query services. And it also supports Content-based Query service which is not specified in the ebXML RS specification. The Content-based Query service is a repository service which makes it possible In pose content based queries of repository items and which will be specified on the RS specification v2.0.

본 논문은 영상의 메타데이터를 RDF를 이용하여 표현, 저장하고, SPARQL을 이용하여 검색하는 솔루션을 구현하여, RDF와 SPARQL을 통한 멀티미디어 파일의 메타데이터 관리 방안을 제시한다. 솔루션은 Jena2 프레임워크 기반으로 구현하였으며, Controller, EXIF Extractor, Metadata Schema, RDF Generator, Repository Manager, SPARQL Executor의 모듈로 구성된다.

SCORM의 Content Repository는 Asset이나 컨텐츠의 Metadata를 가지고 컨텐츠나 Asset을 검색할 수 있도록 한다. 이런 Metadata 기반 검색은 아주 많은 컨텐츠를 대상으로 검색을 할 경우, 검색을 통한 컨텐츠 결과가 너무 많을 경우 결과 내에서 재검색을 하는데 많은 시간을 들일 수 있다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 검색 효율을 높이기 위한 방법으로 SCORM 기반 LMS에 협력 필터링 방법을 적용한 시스템을 제안하였다.

지형공간 정보 시스템의 상호운용성 및 메타데이터에 관한 관련 연구의 대부분은 모델의 개발과 표준 사양의 정의, 데이터 포맷의 표준화 등에 초점이 맞추어져 있으며 시스템 상호 운용성을 고려한 메타데이터 관리 시스템의 구체적인 설계와 구현에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 아직적은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 지금까지의 지형공간정보에 대한 메타데이터와 관련된 기술 표준화 동향을 수용하며 이기종 분산환경에서 지형공간정보의 상호운용성을 지원하기 위한 메타데이터 관리 시스템을 통합메타데이터 저장소의 형태로 구현하기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 또한 설계된 메타데이터 관리자의 시스템 구성요소들의 기능 명세를 세부적으로 정의하여 상호운용성을 제공하는 메타데이터의 관리방법으로써의 통합메타데이터저장소 시스템과 관리자의 기능을 제시하도록 한다.

The storage of data documentation for Myanmar pagodas has various issues, and its retrieval method causes problems for users and libraries. This study utilized a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate pagoda data management in Myanmar libraries. The study aims to achieve the following objectives: to study the library collection management of pagodas in Myanmar, to investigate the management of pagoda data in Myanmar libraries, and to identify the pagoda data requirements for metadata development from the library professional perspective. The study findings revealed several challenges facing librarians and library users in accessing and managing Myanmar pagoda data, including limited stocks and retrieval tools, difficulty in accessing all available data online, and a lack of a centralized database or repository for storing and retrieving pagoda data. The study recommends the establishment of metadata criteria for managing a set of pagoda data and improving access to technology to address these challenges.

This study aims to propose an extended OAK metadata for research data that would be described in OAK, an open access repository of the National Library of Korea. As a research method, literature review, case studies, and interviews with related parties were conducted. The method of extending the existing OAK metadata for research data was derived as follows. First, in modeling for research data, the structure of the collection> item> file is maintained, the collection is placed as a higher group to which the research data can be grouped, and item was combined metadata and files or digital objects of various formats together. Second, by mapping the metadata standard and case organizations with the existing OAK metadata, elements judged to need to be extended to OAK for research data were selected and reflected in the existing OAK. Third, the controlled vocabulary and syntax are also proposed so that it can be used for search or later statistics through structured data. By expanding the OAK metadata to describe research data, research data produced in Korea can be officially stored and used, which is the basis for preventing duplication of research and sharing and recycling research results nationally.

Libraries and Museums have used archiving systems to preserve digital contents. Especially, university libraries mainly archive research resources including research papers. To the best of our knowledge, we proudly propose an educational repository oriented to archive overall educational process for the first time. To design the repository, we choose educational resources which need to be archived. Then, digital formats appropriate for long-term preservation are heavily discussed. Based on the design, we have practically implemented the system using representative repository software : DSpace, EPrints, Fedora, Omeka. Finally, educational resources of the specific subject are archived on each system, and the result of comparison is presented.

The paper discusses the nature of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) and shows how these can support digital library users. It demonstrates processes related to integration of KOS like the Dewey Decimal Classification, $22^{nd}$ edition (DDC22) in DSpace software (http://www.dspace.org/) for organizing and retrieving (browsing and searching) scholarly objects. An attempt has been made to use the DDC22 available in Bengali language and highlights the required mechanisms for system-level integration. It may help a repository administrator to build an IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) integrated with SKOS-enabled multilingual subject access systems for supporting subject descriptors based indexing (DC.Subject metadata element), structured navigation (browsing) and efficient searching.
