Recently the domestic construction companies have been occurred to the various demand of information. Also information quantity is increasing. But using information have been stated in low why large information quantity. The other side, the various Metadata have been proposing in the many field for an effective search and an application. So the Metadata for using construction information must be built. In this study, we have founded information of construction companies, present condition of information, concept of Metadata and recent report. And we have presented the Metadata system model and building process of information system. We have analyzed the Metadata element of construction. This study is the foundation for the Metadata using system.

As the rapid develoment of internet and information technology, the traditional library has been altered to the digital content service based on the world wide web. This paper proposes a design and implementation of an Artcle Union Catalog System(AUCS) based on metadata. The metadata set for the AUCS consists of twelve Dublin Core elements and one holdings element. The qualifiers of the proposed metadata elements are also represented. The AUCS system has an online cooperated cataloging system using the web interface or the 239.50 protocol, an union cataloging management system, and an integrated information retrieved system service. The integrated search and retrieval service of the AUCS displays not only the summary and detailed bibliographic information, but also the abstract, the table of contents, the digital content, and the copylfax service.

Recently, many enterprises have attempted to construct data warehousing systems for decision-support. Data warehouse is an intelligent store of data that can aggregate vast amounts of information. Building DW requires two important development issues:(i) DW for the decision making of business users and (ii) metadata within it. Most DW development methodologies have not considered metadata development; it is necessary to adopt a DW development methodology which develops a DW and its metadata simultaneously. Metadata is a key to success of data warehousing system and is critical for implementing DW. That is, metadata is crucial documentation for a data warehousing system where users should be empowered to meet their own information needs; users need to know what data exists, what it represents, where it is located, and how to access it. Furthermore, metadata is used for extracting data and managing DW. However, metadata has failed because its management has been segregated from the DW development process. Metadata must be integrated with data warehousing systems. Without metadata, the decision support of DW is under the control of technical users. Therefore, integrating data warehouse with its metadata offers a new opportunity to create a more adaptive information system. Therefore, this paper proposes a DW development methodology from a metadata perspective. The proposed methodology consists of five phases: preparatory, requirement analysis, data warehouse (informational database) development, metastore development, and maintenance. To demonstrate the practical usefulness of the methodology, one case is illustrated

The study designs and implements a metadata management system for archival and manuscripts control. It has two purposes. First purpose is to organize the collection that the Institution of Korean Church History holds by using the proposed metadata format. Second purpose is to suggest the model and framework for managing the collection. The proposed metadata is designed based on ISAD(G), USMARC AMC, EAD and Ebind, By using the proposed metadata, the collection management system, which allows an integrated retrieval, is implemented. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed system as well as to gain the basic data for the improvement of the proposed system, a questionnaire survey through e-mail is conducted. The evaluation results will be utilized for improving and upgrading the proposed system, and the phrased implementation of applying the system to digital libraries is suggested.

The development of the Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS) aims to preserve practices beyond the limits of the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) conceptual framework; however, the examples and guidelines on connecting each metadata element to the actual data are unclear, making the design of preservation metadata in real digital archives difficult. Hence, this study investigates actual PREMIS 3.0-based preservation metadata management cases, preserves digital resources in various digital archive environments, and derives implications for the implementation and design of preservation metadata. Based on the analysis, the study proposes preservation metadata elements that can be considered when designing preservation metadata for digital archives according to PREMIS 3.0 application profile guidelines.

The web 2.0 is leading a rapid change of internet services. The UCC(User Created Contents) service is one of the representative internet services with web 2.0 paradigm. In this paper, we design and implement the UCC services prototype system for image and video. The proposed system does not need to install ActiveX and client programs on devices of users to edit their contents. All processes for editing UCC are conducted on the server. Our proposed system consists of the two components such as the multimedia editing subsystem and the metadata management system. They provide the API to UCC service developers or vendors. The multimedia editing subsystem supports editing for image and video, and the streaming services of video. The metadata management subsystem supports the metadata management and retrieval of image and video.

In this paper, we design and implement the UCC services prototype system for image and video. The proposed system consists of the two components such as the multimedia processing subsystem and the metadata management subsystem. It provides the API to UCC service developers. The multimedia processing subsystem supports the media management and editing of image and video, and the streaming services of video. The metadata management subsystem supports the metadata management and retrieval of image and video. The reply management and script processing of UCC are given in the subsystem.

This study focuses on the management of the news production system in broadcasting companies. This paper concentrates on the process of data registration and metadata management in order to examine whether the currently produced news can have value as a 'public record' in the long term, and whether reliable and accurate information is preserved. In addition, the user experience in the current system is analyzed through in-depth interviews with Ingest Managers, Editors, and Archive Managers, who are closely related to metadata creation compared to other members of the its News Department. Finally, a sustainable metadata quality management method is sought to increase the value of news footage as a 'public record'. In this study, these points can be found out: the metadata of the news agency footage is input manually according to the user's will or working style, that is, the user-friendly metadata input system is insufficient. Accordingly, it can be seen that the quality of the metadata of the news video continues to deteriorate. As an alternative to overcome this, it is found that work flow improvement, system improvement, classification system and metadata improvement plan, etc. are definitely necessary in the short and long term.

Recently, the semantic web stands out in the next generation web. To realize the semantic web, the metadata integration is required between different metadatas on the web for metadata management. Otherwise, the integrated structure is needed to accommodate all of semantic, syntax and structure. RDF is one of the core technology and is more efficient framework for technology and interchange of metadata in the web, In this paper, for metadata management, we designed and implemented the RDF authoring system which converts each of metadata into RDF and makes it easy to manipulate and manage the different metadatas. For this, we researched about the RDF creation using Dublin Core metadata, the conversion of XML document into RDF, the RDF expression by N-Triple form and the integration of WSDL and RDF, and implemented the system on the lava platform. Basically, users using this system can integrate and manage metadatas easily even if they are not expert.

The goal of this study was to examine the relationships between usability and the searching experience, and to uncover where an integrated cataloging and metadata system lay the usability problems of its primary users, catalogers. This study showed that the most important aspect of usability in Connexion lay in the experience of information retrieval system. Also, it showed there are seventeen usability problems to be improved in Connexion. Needless to say, it is most important to note that usability is not an exclusive goal of such an integrated cataloging and metadata system. Other goals such as quality of catalogs, and the reliability of its cataloging and metadata system are equally its concern. This study also suggested more testing on diverse cataloging systems and specific user groups, especially catalogers.
