There have been several research efforts to support interoperability among multiple databases. In integrating multiple databases, we must resolve schema conflicts due to the heterogeneity in databases. To resolve these conflicts, not only meta-data for database schemas but also general knowledge expressing the real world meanings associated with the database schemas are required. This paper presents a uniform representation method for relational schema and general knowledge base that is composed, among other things, of concept hierarchy and thematic roles in relationship, using the knowledge representation language Lk. This representation method has a flexible descriptive power which facilitates concepts to be expressed at different levels of granularity and can describe knowledge expressed in Lk are used for input of the next step, such as conflict resolution and query processing of multiple database.

In this paper, we present POSSDM (POSTECH Situation-Based Dialogue Manager) for a spoken dialogue system using a new example and situation-based dialogue management technique for effective generation of appropriate system responses. Spoken dialogue system should generate cooperative responses to smoothly control dialogue flow with the users. We introduce a new dialogue management technique incorporating dialogue examples and situation-based rules for EPG (Electronic Program Guide) domain. For the system response inference, we automatically construct and index a dialogue example database from dialogue corpus, and the best dialogue example is retrieved for a proper system response with the query from a dialogue situation including a current user utterance, dialogue act, and discourse history. When dialogue corpus is not enough to cover the domain, we also apply manually constructed situation-based rules mainly for meta-level dialogue management.

The objective of this research is to develop a formal framework and methodology to facilitate real-time data integration, thus enabling semantic interoperability among distributed and heterogeneous information systems. The proposed approach is based on the concepts of "ontology" and "semantic mediators." An ontology is developed and used to capture the intension (including structure, integrity rules and meta-properties) of the database schema. We also develop the agent communication protocol for semantic reconciliation, which is based on the theory of speech acts and agent communication language. This protocol is used by a set of semantic mediators, which automatically detect and resolve various semantic conflicts at the data- and schema-levels by referring to the ontology. A mediation-based query processing technique is developed to provide uniform and integrated access to the multiple heterogeneous information sources. Prototype tools are being implemented to provide proof of concept for this work.

메타 검색 엔진은 여러 검색 엔진의 결과를 통합해 한 화면에 보여주기 때문에 사용자가 한번에 많은 검색 엔진을 사용하는 효과를 준다. 메타 검색에서 사용하고 있는 부리언 질의는 다른 검색 엔진의 연산자를 모두 수용할 수 없기 때문에 고유의 연산자를 정의하여 사용하고 있다. 이때, 메타 검색에서 사용하는 연산자가 검색 엔진에서 제공되지 않으면 사용자 입력 질의를 정화하게 검색 엔진으로 전달하지 못하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 각 검색 엔진의 연산자를 조사 및 분석하여 검색 엔진 대표 연산자를 추출하고, 연산자에 우선 순위를 두어 검색 엔진에서 제공하는 연산자로 질의를 재구성하는 방법을 이용함으로서 이러한 문제를 해결하였고, 메타 검색을 위한 새로운 질의 변환 전략을 제시한다. 그리고, 연산자 매핑 테이블과 URL 매핑 테이블을 이용한 메타 검색의 질의 처리 구조를 설계한다. 이것은 메타 검색으로 입력된 사용자 질의를 정확하게 검색 엔진으로 전달하여 사용자가 원하는 정보를 제공함으로서 사용자가 신뢰도를 향상시키게 된다.

인터넷과 웹의 팽창과 함께 가용 정보의 양이 폭발적으로 증가하고 있으나 이에 대응되는 효과적이고 효율적인 정보 검색능력의 지원이 없다면 이와 같은 방대한 정보들은 정보 이용자들에 있어 이용 가치가 없으며 이는 곧 정보 범람(information overflow)을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 해결 방안으로써 사용자의 편이성과 정보검색 능력을 극대화할 수 있는 자연어 질의 문맥 구조 기반 개인형 메타 정보검색 엔진을 제안하고자 한다.본 방법론은 자연어 질의를 기본 입력 형태로 하여 자연어 질의의 문맥 구조(context structure) 및 기타 정보 평가 요소들을 이용하는 다척도(multi-criteria)의사 결정 기법 및 개인형 메타 정보 평가(information rating) 방법론으로 구성되어 있으며 이를 위한 시스템 설계를 제안한다.

일반 사용자들의 데이터베이스 사용 증가와 부정확한 질의를 처리할 수 있는 데이터베이스의 요구가 증가하면서 기존의 관계형 데이터베이스에 퍼지이론을 적용한 퍼지 데이터베이스에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인적사항 관련 데이터베이스에 대하여 이러한 퍼지 데이터베이스인 퍼지질의 시스템의 개발을 위해서 아직 일반화 되지 않은 FSQL을 정의하였으며 meta DB의 분류와 그에 따른 소속함수에 대하여 정의하였다. 또한 정의된 데이터를 이용하여 내부에서 필요로 하는 FSQL 처리 부분을 설계하였다.

Recently, the necessity of systems which effectively store and retrieve video data has increased. Conventional video retrieval systems retrieve data using menus or text based keywords. Due to the lack of information, many video clips are simultaneously searched, and the user must have a certain level of knowledge to utilize the system. In this paper, we suggest a natural language based conversational video retrieval system that reflects users' intentions and includes more information than keyword based queries. This system can also retrieve from events or people to their movements. First, an event database is constructed based on meta-data which are generated by domain analysis for collected video in an office environment. Then, a script database is also constructed based on the query pre-processing and analysis. From that, a method to retrieve a video through a matching technique between natural language queries and answers is suggested and validated through performance and process evaluation for 10 users The natural language based retrieval system has shown its better efficiency in performance and user satisfaction than the menu based retrieval system.

Various kind of business process exists within enterprise. These business processes achieve business purposes while operate and control using eAI solution. However legacy systems-ERP, PDM are able to many cooperations and interoperability. Generally real data is becoming interoperability using query based on store-procedure on legacy system for business process transaction. Also, It may occur some problems among schema conversion, matching, mapping and other heterogeneous between data interoperability in process. We propose business process interoperability framework based on XMDR Hub that can guarantee interoperability between legacy systems using process that is consisted of SQL query based on store-procedure. It is easy to process data interoperability between legacy systems when business process execute.

For Ubiquitous service, there are some method researched. To IT convergence study tourism the convergence of IT and tourism in recent years has emerged as a discipline in the future. This paper, by taking advantage of the Smart App Places to generate content and Smart Things to query, modify, search, tourism information, tourism policy and tourists can be analyzed, and the average inclination and these efficient tourism information content and that can be utilizedmodels are proposed. This u-Smart is a tourist information system. Build the biggest advantages of the meta-meta-model in real time by utilizing Smart App disposition of existing tourism information and tourist and tourism rating database. Helps to generate patterned by digital tourism policy tourism information content.
