In Korea, medical diagnostic equipments and biochemical examination can not be used in order for diagnosing sub-healthy state or ante-disease state in oriental medicine clinic. So morphic analogical method used in oriental medicine can be a good tool as a disease-predictable signs in order to enable preventive diagnosis and therapy. Therefore the four geometrical subjects; Essence, Pneuma, Spirit, Blood(四科;精氣紳血) and the four taxonomical species; Pisces, Quadruped, Aves, Carapaces(四類;魚走鳥甲) are chosen as morphic models in this paper. The differences of two classifying methods with four subjects and four species were as follows. The diagnostic category was meta-medical and synthetic against medical specific. The diagnostic object was body in contrast with face. They were able to be applicant in psychology and classification of characteristics against diagnostics and therapeutics directly in oriental medicine. The theoretical basis was basic diagrams of four unit-fluids of body and morphological analogy with four animal species respectively. And the therapeutic aims were systemic pathogenesis following five phase theory against congestion and deficiency of Essence, Pneuma, Spirit, Blood. The four subjects and four species are mixed each other practically in clinic. But it should be used limitedly because of the above reasons described and must divide the principal and secondary factors and follow the pathology of principal shape factor. In order to improve the diagnostic value of ante-disease state, the discriminable standards, measurement methods, limit of interrelating interpretation and the criteria of abnormal disproportion were needed to be defined more clearly in advance.

The research aimed to investigate characteristics of middle school students enrolled in a science gifted education center affiliated with university in terms of multiple intelligence, self-regulated learning and personality traits. The 89 subjects in the study responded to questionnaires of multiple intelligence, self-regulated learning ability and a personality trait in October, 2011. It was found that both science and math gifted students presented intrapersonal intelligence as strength and logical-mathematical intelligence as weakness. While physics and earth science gifted ones showed spatial intelligence as strength, chemistry and biology gifted ones did intrapersonal intelligence. For self-regulated learning ability, both science and mathematics gifted students tend to show higher levels than general students, in particular, cognitive and motivation strategies comparatively higher than meta-cognition and environment condition strategies. Characteristics of personal traits widely distributed across science and mathematics gifted students, showing that each gifted student presented distinct characteristics individually. Those gifted students showing certain intelligence such as spatial, intrapersonal, or natural intelligences as strength also showed different characteristics of self-regulated learning ability and personal traits among students showing same intelligence as strength. It was concluded that science and mathematics gifted students showed various characteristics of multiple intelligences, self-regulated learning ability, and personal traits across science and mathematics areas.
Background: The relationship between postmenopausal hormone therapy (HT) and invasive breast cancer has been extensively investigated, but that with breast carcinoma in situ (BCIS) has received relatively little attention. The aim of our present study was to review and summarize the evidence provided by longitudinal studies on the association between postmenopausal HT use and BCIS risk. Methods: A comprehensive literature search for articles published up to May 2012 was performed. Prior to performing a meta-analysis, the studies were evaluated for publication bias and heterogeneity. Relative risk (RR) or odds ratio (OR) values were calculated using 14 reports (8 case-control studies and 6 cohort studies), published between 1986 and 2012. Results: There was evidence of an association between ever postmenopausal estrogen use and BCIS based on a random-effects model (RR = 1.25, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.01, 1.55). However, we found no strong evidence of an association between ever postmenopausal estrogen combined with progesterone use and BCIS using a randomeffects model (RR = 1.55, 95% CI = 0.95, 2.51). Furthermore, our analysis showed a strong association between "> 5 years duration" of estrogen or estrogen combined with progesterone use and BCIS. Furthermore, current use of any HT is associated with increased risk of BCIS in cohort studies. Additional well-designed large studies are now required to validate this association in different populations.
This study analyzed a total of 37 studies about bi-lingulism and English education as a foreign language published in 8 academic journals in early childhood education or child development fields. Research topics, participants, methods, and variables in the studies were categorized and descriptively analyzed. The research findings which had been statistically investigated were also summarized. The most frequently studied research topics were children's development and English education program exposure, actual conditions of English education in preschool settings and effectiveness of specific English programs for preschool children. However, children's home characteristics were seldom included as research variables and no research investigated so called English preschools. Several studies reported that bi-lingual children may have different language development paths from mono-lingual children but they eventually have comparable language abilities to mono-lingual children. Also some studies reported that, when learning English as a foreign language in school settings, older children can handle more information regarding English than younger children, resulting in better outcomes of older children. Exposure to two languages in early childhood seems to contribute to young children's meta linguistic awareness but the long term effect of English education in early childhood should be further studied. Several English education programs for preschool settings were developed and the effectiveness were investigated. Even though most of them reported that their programs were effective to children's English ability or interests, the results should be carefully interpreted because their research designs and methods were not rigorous.
Aim : The ultimate goal of periodontal treatment is regeneration of periodontium that have been lost due to inflammatory periodontal disease. Recently, Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate bone substitute have been introduced to achieve periodontal regeneration. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of the Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate(BoneMedik-$DM^{(R)}$, Meta Biomed Co., Ltd. Oksan, Korea) on periodontal intrabony defects. Methods and materials : Clinical effects of Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate implantation in intrabony defects were evaluated 6 months after surgery in Sixty-one intrabony defects from Fourty-six patients with chronic periodontitis. Twenty-nine experimental defects in twenty-five patients received the Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate(test group), while Thirty-Three defects in twenty-one patients were treated with flap procedure only( control group). Comparative observation were done for preoperative and postoperative differences between control and experimental clinical parameters,-clinical attachment 10ss(CAL), probing depth(PD), bone probing depth(BPD), gingi val recession. Results : Postoperative improvements in CAL, PD, BPD were observed in both test and control groups(P<0.0l). However, the improvements in CAL, PD, BPD of the test group were significantly greater than control group. Conclusion : Healing of the both groups were uneventful during experimental periods. Use of Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate in a flap operation resulted in significantly greater improvements in CAL, PD, and BPD over flap operation alone. Silicon contained Coralline Hydroxyapatite and Beta Tricalcium Phosphate will be good bone substitute materials for treatment of intrabony defects.
This research examines difference in learning motivation and self-regulated learning according to the general characteristics of the students in hotel and food service related departments at vocational colleges, and subsequently identifies correlation between the two attributes. The research conducted a survey for 300 students in hotel and food service related departments at three vocational colleges in Daegu region, and 267 copies were used for the final analysis. In terms of learning motivation, students in the age between 20 and 24 indicated 'employment after graduation' as the strongest motivation while relatively older students indicated 'joy of learning' as their motivation. It turned out that students who showed strong motivation in terms of 'employment after graduation' and 'fun of college life' acquired more professional certificates. Next, regarding self-regulated learning, female students showed higher ability than male students. Students in higher grade, with older age, and with field practice experience showed more strength in self-regulated learning. Students with higher levels of a cognitive strategy, meta cognition and achievement value acquired more professional certificates. Learning motivation and self-regulated learning showed positive correlation with an exception of 'amotivation' among learning motivations. 'Amotivation' demonstrated negative correlation with all the factors of self-regulated learning ability.
Background: The statistical methods to analyze and predict the related dangerous factors of deep fungal infection in lung cancer patients were several, such as logic regression analysis, meta-analysis, multivariate Cox proportional hazards model analysis, retrospective analysis, and so on, but the results are inconsistent. Materials and Methods: A total of 696 patients with lung cancer were enrolled. The factors were compared employing Student's t-test or the Mann-Whitney test or the Chi-square test and variables that were significantly related to the presence of deep fungal infection selected as candidates for input into the final artificial neural network analysis (ANN) model. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and area under curve (AUC) were used to evaluate the performance of the artificial neural network (ANN) model and logistic regression (LR) model. Results: The prevalence of deep fungal infection from lung cancer in this entire study population was 32.04%(223/696), deep fungal infections occur in sputum specimens 44.05%(200/454). The ratio of candida albicans was 86.99% (194/223) in the total fungi. It was demonstrated that older (${\geq}65$ years), use of antibiotics, low serum albumin concentrations (${\leq}37.18g/L$), radiotherapy, surgery, low hemoglobin hyperlipidemia (${\leq}93.67g/L$), long time of hospitalization (${\geq}14$days) were apt to deep fungal infection and the ANN model consisted of the seven factors. The AUC of ANN model($0.829{\pm}0.019$)was higher than that of LR model ($0.756{\pm}0.021$). Conclusions: The artificial neural network model with variables consisting of age, use of antibiotics, serum albumin concentrations, received radiotherapy, received surgery, hemoglobin, time of hospitalization should be useful for predicting the deep fungal infection in lung cancer.

Objectives : Despite various treatment for Shoulder-hand syndrome being presented, only a few studies that examine the direct efficacy of acupuncture exist. The aim of this study is to establish a base for further research by reviewing studies on acupuncture treatment for Shoulder-hand syndrome. Methods : Clinical studies involving the effects of acupuncture for Shoulder-hand syndrome, published on July 19th 2016, were obtained from Pubmed, RISS, OASIS, the Journal of Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion, the Journal of Korean institute of pharmacopuncture, the Korean Journal of Acupuncture, NDSL, Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal, DBpia, and KISS. Selected studies were evaluated by the Jadad scale and FEAS. Results : Among a total of two hundred and fifteen articles, thirteen articles (RCT 9, SR 1, Meta analysis 1, CCT 1 article, Case series 1) that meet the criteria were selected. Among 13 articles, one article was published in Korea. And apart from this one article, twelve studies were published in China. All studies reported that the experimental group treated by acupuncture had significantly better effects compared to the control group. However, the overall quality assessment of the studies is low. Conclusion : Despite several limitations, various studies to prove limited yet effective acupuncture treatment on Shoulder-hand syndrome provides much significance. Subsequent studies conducted by the complementary systematic review of the studies and well-designed clinical trials using the methodological quality will be needed to more firmly validate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on Shoulder-hand syndrome.

Objectives : To evaluate and summarize the efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment (AT) in chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Methods : Fifteen databases (Pubmed, Cochrane, EMBASE, AMED, CINAHL, CNKI, Wanfang, and eight Korean databases) were searched up to September 2016. Only trials in which acupuncture was the sole treatment were included. Fatigue was used as the primary outcome measure, while the quality of life, pain, mood disorders, and adverse events were used as secondary outcome measures. We adopted three classifications: AT vs Sham AT, AT vs Wait-list, AT vs Western medication. The Cochrane risk of bias tool was used to assess the methodological quality. Results : A total of 11 randomized controlled trials involving 869 participants were identified. In comparison with Sham AT, AT significantly alleviated fatigue and pain, but no conclusions about the quality of life and mood disorders could be drawn. In the Wait-list group and Western medication groups, patients with CFS might feel less fatigued following acupuncture treatment, but the evidence was insufficient due to lack of study. Nine of 11 RCTs (81.8%) reported adverse events and there were two cases of mild subcutaneous hemorrhage, but no serious adverse cases. Conclusion : This review found evidence that patients with CFS may generally benefit from alleviation of symptoms by acupuncture treatment, and there is no evidence of worsening symptoms or causing of serious adverse events. A positive effect on fatigue and pain was observed, but no conclusion for improving quality of life and mood disorders.

The purpose of this study is to find the point for improvement through the comparative analysis of the 2007 & 2009 revised science curriculum, and the NGSS of the United States with Bloom's revised taxonomy. The results of the analysis confirmed that the revised curriculum in 2009 compared to the revised curriculum in 2007 has expanded the type of cognitive process and knowledge, which promote a higher level thinking. However, the revised curriculum in 2009 has been biased to the type of specific cognitive process and knowledge in cognitive process dimension and knowledge dimension as compared to the NGSS of the United States. In the revised curriculum in 2009, the type of cognitive process such as 'analyze,' 'evaluate,' 'create,' and the type of knowledge such as 'meta-cognitive knowledge' have been treated inattentively. In addition, through comparative analysis, it was identified that the type of cognitive process and knowledge that were neglected in achievement standards were not dealt with in the learning objective of teachers' guides, either. The revised curriculum should consist of achievement standards in comparison to the previous curriculum to reflect better the goals of science education. Therefore, it is necessary to create an achievement standards including various types of cognitive processes and knowledge by improving the method of statement of achievement standards of science curriculum.
