  • In this paper, we introduce the performance test results of digital data processing system for KVN (Korean VLBI Network). The digital data processing system for KVN consists of DAS (Data Acquisition System) and high-speed recorder which called Mark5B system. DAS system performs the digitalization of analog radio signal through ADS-1000 gigabit sampler with 1 Gsps/2-bit and process the digital filtering of digital signal. Mark5B system records the output data of DFB (Digital Filter Bank) with about 1 Gbps. In this paper, we carried out the preliminary evaluation experiments of the KVN digital data processing system connected between DAS system and Mark5B with VSI (VLBI Standard Interface) interface which is designed for compatible in each VLBI system. We first performed all of the KVN digital data processing system connected by VSI interface in the world. In factory inspection phase, we found that the DAS system has a memory read/write error in DSM (Digital Spectrometer) by analyzing the recorded data in Mark5B system. We confirmed that the DSM memory error has been correctly solved by comparing DSM results with Mark5B results. The effectiveness of KVN digital data processing system has been verified through the preliminary experiments such as data transmission, recording with VSI interface connection and data analysis between DSM and Mark5B system. In future work, we will perform the real astronomical observation by using the KVN 21m radio telescopes so as to verify its stability and performance.

  • A variety of sounds take place in medium and small-sized manufactories producing many kinds of parts in a small quantity with one press. We developed the identification system for the quality of parts using HTM(Hierarchical Temporal Memory)-based sound recognition. HTM is the theory that the operation principle of human brain's neocortex is applied to computer, suggested by Jeff Hopkins. This theory memorizes temporal and spatial patterns hierarchically about the real world, which is known for its cognitive power superior to the previous recognition technologies in many cases. By applying the HTM model to the sound recognition, we developed the identification system for the quality of molding parts. In order to verify its performance we recorded the various sounds at the moment of producing parts in the real factory, constructed the HTM network of sound, and then identified the quality of parts by repeating learning and training. It reveals that this system gets an excellent and accurate results at the noisy factory.

  • The performance of spatio-temporal moving pattern mining depends on how to analyze and process the huge set of spatio-temporal data due to the nature of it. The several method was presented in order to solve the problems in which existing spatio-temporal moving pattern mining methods[1-10] have, such as increasing execution time and required memory size during the pattern mining, but they did not solve properly yet. Thus, we proposed the STMP/MST method[11] as a preceding research in order to extract effectively sequential and/or periodical frequent occurrence moving patterns from the huge set of spatio-temporal moving data. The proposed method reduces patterns mining execution time, using the moving sequence tree based on hash tree. And also, to minimize the required memory space, it generalizes detailed historical data including spatio-temporal attributes into the real world scopes of space and time by using spatio-temporal concept hierarchy. In this paper, in order to verify the effectiveness of the STMP/MST method, we compared and analyzed performance with existing spatio-temporal moving pattern mining methods based on the quantity of mining data and minimum support factor.

  • Recently, based on dynamic location or mobility of moving object, many researches on pattern mining methods actively progress to extract more available patterns from various moving patterns for development of location based services. The performance of moving pattern mining depend on how analyze and process the huge set of spatio-temporal data. Some of traditional spatio-temporal pattern mining methods[1-6,8-11]have proposed to solve these problem, but they did not solve properly to reduce mining execution time and minimize required memory space. Therefore, in this paper, we propose new spatio-temporal pattern mining method which extract the sequential and periodic frequent moving patterns efficiently from the huge set of spatio-temporal moving data. The proposed method reduces mining execution time of $83%{\sim}93%$ rate on frequent moving patterns mining using the moving sequence tree which generated from historical data of moving objects based on hash tree. And also, for minimizing the required memory space, it generalize the detained historical data including spatio-temporal attributes into the real world scope of space and time using spatio-temporal concept hierarchy.

  • Stanislavsky's acting system is based on the sensory memory of an incident that an actor has actually experienced, but Michael Chekhov insisted that in relation to the acting technique of actors, they should find the virtual and unreal external stimuli caused by emotion and imagination irrespective of their personal experience. As such, Stanislavsky's acting system and Michael Chekhov's acting technique are very different in terms of the acting method used. In actual acting, however, the acting system and the acting technique should have a close relationship. Any acting performed by an actor cannot be totally psychological or physical because the body and the mind cannot be separated. It is for this reason that all kinds of training should be both psychological and physical training and should not be conducted only mechanically. Acting is the ability of actors to imagine the virtual or fictitious reality and to express their indignation ability onstage. As actors stimulate and train their own fantasy and imagination, they can greatly improve their ability to embody or express the inner world of the characters they are portraying in a play.

  • We evaluate the face detection and recognition of depth image that is obtained by infrared range sensor. and Face recognition was usually focused on accuracy aspect but it is not enough to evaluate the performance in testing for real world application. In this paper, we evaluate the overall performance like accuracy, training, test speed and memory use for the well known face recognition algorithm like PCA, LDA, ICA and SVM. This experiment evaluate the good results of depth and colored depth image compatible with the colored image although the file size of depth and colored depth image is 30%~40% less than the colored image. Whereas, LDA got the good accuracy performance next to the SVM and also shows the good performance in speed and the amount of memory.

  • The $76^{th}$ National Treasure is consisted of seven volumes of Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin; each titled by the author based on the zodiac name of the year covered, i.e. Imjin Ilgi, Gyesa Ilgi, Gabo Ilgi, Byeongsin Ilgi, Jeongyu Ilgi, Sok Jeongyu Ilgi, Musul Ilgi), Seogancheob (Letters of Admiral Yi) and Imjin Jangcho (Drafts of Imjin War Reports of Admiral Yi). These are currently in the custody of Hyeonchungsa shrine, the state-managed memorial shrine of Admiral Yi, and has been added to UNESCO's Memory of the World Register in June 2013 in the appreciation of its historical and academic importance as a commander's hand-written battlefield accounts during Japanese invasions of Korea. Imjin Jangcho, among these nine volumes, is a record of battles, including observations on the enemy fleets, suggestions on naval matters, battle expenditure, and methods of battle preparation, transcribed by someone else according to Admiral Yi's instructions. It is Admiral Yi's honest detailobservations on the war situation during Japanese invasions of Korea from 1592 as a Naval Commander of Left Jeolla Province, till 1594 (Year 27 of King Seonjo's reign) as a Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the South. It is a draft of the war report to be submitted to the King in a single volume as a folio (each sheet folded once to produce one leaf) bound in a side-stitched binding with five holes and inner binding of twisted paper. This study explores the condition and the treatment performed on Imjin Jangcho which could have an implication for the conservation of cultural assets on paper of late Joseon Dynasty.

  • Current networks such as social network, web page link, traffic network are big data which have the large numbers of nodes and edges. Many applications such as social network services and navigation systems use these networks. Since big networks are not fit into the memory, existing in-memory based analysis techniques cannot provide high performance. Frontier-Expansion-Merge (FEM) framework for graph search operations using three corresponding operators in the relational database (RDB) context. FEM exploits an index table that stores pre-computed partial paths for efficient shortest path discovery. However, the index table of FEM has low hit ratio because the indices are determined by distances of indices rather than the possibility of containing a shortest path. In this paper, we propose an method that construct index table using high degree nodes having high hit ratio for efficient shortest path discovery. We experimentally verify that our index technique can support shortest path discovery efficiently in real-world datasets.

  • Hanji(Korean traditional paper) is a valuable cultural heritage highly praised, even to this date, for its importance and technology by craftsmanship of our ancestors; it is a product of a combination of craftsmanship, well-established technologies, natural paper mulberry fiber and eco-friendly and durable natural materials and mucilages. Origin of the word 'Hanji(Korean traditional paper)' is from handmade paper made of bast part of the paper mulberry; as paper manufacturing with paper machines introduced in Japan was adopted in late Joseon, paper produced previously was called 'Hanji' and paper produced with western machines was called 'Yangji(machine made paper)'. Hanji has been called by many different names and used in various ways according to materials and production methods; and the functions varied. Hanji, from the era of three states to Joseon era, has been praised for its unique and excellent quality in three Asian countries(Korea, China and Japan); its unique excellence continues to this date in many paper-related national cultural heritages. Also total of 11 cases are registered to UNESCO Memory of the World for its importance, 8 of which are associated with traditional Korean paper: Hunminjeongeum, the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, Jikjisimcheyojeol, Seungjeongwon Ilgi, the Royal Protocols of the Joseon Dynasty, Donguibogam, Ilseongnok and A War Diary. To examine excellent characteristics of conservation science in Hanji, many studies have been developed. By developing analysis and manufacturing technologies, the excellence of our Hanji should be re-verified scientifically and the tradition should continue as one of the representative Korean cultural heritages.
