성인의 건강, 우울, 기억, 자기효능과 메타기억과의 상관관계 연구 (Relationships between Health, Depression, Memory Self-Efficacy and Metamemory in Adults)

  • Defining prediction variables related to metamemory for the adults in aging process has worthwhile meaning from the perspective that the produced results can be helpful to reducing the difficulty of memorizing efforts and it can also enhance quality of life of aged. This study attempted to analysis relationship between perceived health status, depression, memory self-efficacy and meta memory for the subjects of middle age and old age adults. This study was designed by adopting descriptive correlational analysis method for the 468 middle and old age adults who are living in Seoul. Samples were selected by convenience sampling. Data collection was done over 1 month period in june 1998. The instruments used in this study were health status measuring scale including depression measuring scale, memory self efficacy measuring scale and metamemory measuring scale which were verified for reliability. Data collected were analized by using SPSS for frequency, Peason correlation, t-test and ANOVA according to the variables character and the study purposes. Results of the study were as follows. 1. Relationship between perceived health status, depression, memory self-efficacy and metamemory. Relational analyses between perceived health status, depression, memory self-efficacy and metamemory supported the hypotheses of 1st, 2nd and 3rd(p < .01). These results suggested that the aged perceived great health status then their memory self-efficacy, and metamemory showed the high scores. In the case of depression when its level became decreased metamemory was inclined to increased. Thus, it is identified that strong relationship exists between these variables. 2. Perceived health status, depression, memory self-efficacy by subject's general characteristics. Scores of perceived health status were high in the group of man compared to the group of women, and also highly educated group showed great perceived health status. Group of persons having occupation showed high score of perceived health status and low depression score. The score of memory self-efficacy and metamemory showed higher in the middle aged than the old aged. The high scores of memory self-efficacy and metamemory were found in the group of highly educated people and who have continuing education. The high scores of memory self-efficacy were found in the group of persons having their job and high metamemory scores found in the group of persons having religion. In summary, the greater perceived health status and memory self-efficacy, the more metamemory scores were likely increased and the more depression level was decreased, the more metamemory was likely increased. Also it was found that general characteristics like educational level, continuing education and religion influenced the metamemory of the aged. Therefore, prevention the aged from getting depression and activation of health promotion are needed to delay time of memory loss.

Effects of a Memory and Visual-Motor Integration Program for Older Adults Based on Self-Efficacy Theory

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to verify the effects of a memory and visual-motor integration program for older adults based on self-efficacy theory. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was implemented in this quasi-experimental study. The participants were 62 older adults from senior centers and older adult welfare facilities in D and G city (Experimental group=30, Control group=32). The experimental group took part in a 12-session memory and visual-motor integration program over 6 weeks. Data regarding memory self-efficacy, memory, visual-motor integration, and depression were collected from July to October of 2014 and analyzed with independent t-test and Mann-Whitney U test using PASW Statistics (SPSS) 18.0 to determine the effects of the interventions. Results: Memory self-efficacy (t=2.20, p=.031), memory (Z=-2.92, p=.004), and visual-motor integration (Z=-2.49, p=.013) increased significantly in the experimental group as compared to the control group. However, depression (Z=-0.90, p=.367) did not decrease significantly. Conclusion: This program is effective for increasing memory, visual-motor integration, and memory self-efficacy in older adults. Therefore, it can be used to improve cognition and prevent dementia in older adults.

노인의 효능자원을 이용한 기억훈련프로그램의 효과 (Effects of a Memory Training Program Using Efficacy Sources on Memory Improvement in Elderly People.)

  • This study was a quasi-experimental study to confirm the effects of a memory training program using efficacy sources. The purpose was to develop an effective memory training program for elderly people and to identify the effects of the memory training program. This study was carried out between February 24 and July 18, 1999 and the subjects of the study were 102 elderly people who were participants at a welfare institute in Seoul. The experimental group (51) and the control group (51) were assigned by means of participation order. The control group was matched to the experimental group and was selected considering age, sex, and religion. The experimental group participated in the memory training program. The memory training program was based on the literature of Fogler & Stern (1994), Wang & Lee (1990), Lee (1991) and Lee (1993). The memory training program was given twice a week for two weeks with each program lasting two hours. Task centered memory self-efficacy was measured using the Memory Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Berry & Dennehey (1989) and Meta Memory was measured by the MIA developed by Dixon et al. (1988) Memory performance was measured by the word list developed by Cho Sung Won (1995) and the face recognition task (Face Recognition Task developed for this study). Data were analyzed by SPSS PC and the results are described below. 1. The experimental group which participated in the Memory Training Program showed higher task centered memory self-efficacy scores as compared to the control group (t=4.354, P=.0001). 2. The experimental group which participated in the Memory Training Program showed higher metamemory scores as compared to the control group (t=4.733, P=.0001). 3. The experimental group which participated in the Memory Training Program showed higher memory performance scores as compared to the control group (t=7.500, P=.0001). The memory performance involved an immediate word recall task, a delayed word recall task, a word recognition task, and the face recognition task. 4. In the experimental group, there was significant correlation between the task centered memory self-efficacy scores and the metamemory scores (r=.382, P=.006), but the correlation between the task centered memory self-efficacy scores and the memory performance scores and between the metamemory scores and the memory performance scores were not significant. The results showed that task centered memory self-efficacy, meta memory and memory performance improved following the Memory Training Program including the memory process, changes in memory with aging, and appropriate use of memory strategies. Memory Training Program is an effective nursing intervention for improving memory in elderly people and, also, in people with complaints of memory loss.

The experimental group which participated in the Memory Training Program showed lower depression scores as compared to the control group(t=-4.310, P=.000). 2. The experimental group which participated in the Memory Training Program showed higher higher memory self-efficacy scores as compared to the control group(t=4.354, P=.000). 3. In the experimental group, there was significant negative correlation between the depression scores and memory self-efficacy scores. The results showed that the Memory Training Program is an effective nursing intervention for the elderly with depression and memory problems.

조직구성원의 네트워크 위치가 지식공유에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Network Positions of Organizational Members on Knowledge Sharing)

  • Improving productivity of knowledge workers is an important issue in the 21st century referred as knowledge-based society. The core key word is knowledge sharing among constituents of an organization. The purpose of this study is to combine the social network position factors with attitude and behavior factors, and develop an integrated research model for the knowledge sharing among members of an organization. This study adopted the integrated theoretical framework based on social capital, self-efficacy, transactive memory, and knowledge sharing. Surveys were conducted to 42 organizational members from a department in a leading IT outsourcing company to empirically test the proposed research model. In order to validate the proposed research model, social network analysis tool, UCINET, a structural equation modeling tool, SmartPLS, were utilized. The empirical result showed that, first of all, organizational members' familiarity network position had significant influence on knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability. Second, knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability affected knowledge sharing intention. Third, knowledge sharing intention also had an impact on the job performance. However, organizational members' expertise network position had no significant influence on knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability. This finding reveals the importance of the emotional approach rather than the rational approach in knowledge management. The theoretical and practical implications on the research findings were discussed along with limitations.

브레인스피닝 프로그램이 소아청소년의 인지기능, 신체조성, 건강관련체력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Brain Spinning Program on Cognitive Function, Body Composition, and Health Related Fitness of Children and Adolescents)

  • Purpose : This study was conducted to determine the effects of a brain spinning program on cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy of children and adolescents. Methods : This study, 34 children and adolescents were selected and divided into two groups : the exercise group (n=16), which received a brain spinning program and the control group (n=16), which did not receive any exercise program. The program was conducted for 30 minutes three times a week for 4 weeks, and the cognitive function, body composition, health related fitness and physical self-efficacy were measured both before and after the program. Results : The exercise group, which received a brain spinning program showed a significant increase in short-term memory (p<.05) and working memory (p<.01), and muscle mass increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.05). In addition, left grip strength increased in the exercise group (p<.01), and the maximum oxygen intake decreased significantly only in the control group (p<.05), and Sit-forward bend increased significantly only in the exercise group (p<.01). Physical self-efficacy significantly increased only in the exercise group (p<.05). Conclusion : In summary, short-term memory, cognitive efficiency, working memory, muscle mass, left grip strength, maximum oxygen intake, and left forward bending in children and adolescents significantly increased after the 4-week brain spinning program. However, the control group that was not provided with the 4-week brain spinning program showed a significant increase in body weight and a significant decrease in maximum oxygen intake. In conclusion, the 4-week brain spinning program has positive effects on short-term memory, cognitive function, muscle mass, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and physical self-efficacy.

뇌졸중환자의 기억신념과 우울, 인지기능과의 관계 (Relationships between Memory Belief, Depression and Cognitive Functioning for Stroke Patients)

  • 본 연구는 뇌졸중 환자의 기억신념과 우울, 인지기능과의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 연구는 G광역시와 전라남도 소재의 병원에서 뇌졸중으로 진단 후 재활치료를 받고 있는 환자 88명을 대상으로 일반적 특성과 기억효능감 질문지, 기억통제감 척도 설문지, Beck Depression Inventory, 한국판 몬트리올 인지평가를 이용하여 정보를 수집한 값을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 기억효능감은 학력, 동거상태, 경제상태, 발병횟수에서, 기억통제감은 경제 상태에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 우울은 발병시기에서, 인지기능은 성별, 연령, 학력, 동거형태, 발병횟수에서 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.05). 기억효능감은 기억통제감, 인지기능과는 정적 상관을, 우울과는 부적 상관을 보였으며, 기억통제감은 우울과 부적 상관을 보였다(p<.05). 그리고 우울은 인지기능과 부적 상관을 보였다. 인지기능에는 기억효능감과 기억통제감, 우울이 모두 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다(p<.05). 본 연구의 결과를 기반으로 뇌졸중 환자의 재활치료에 있어 긍정적 기분을 유발하여 우울과 같은 부정적인 정서를 감소시키며 인지기능의 회복에 대한 기억신념을 촉진하기 위한 다각적인 재활치료 프로그램 개발이 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다.

The Mediating Effect of Reflective Journal Writing on Writing Self-efficacy and Academic Achievement in a PBL Writing Course

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between writing self-efficacy and academic achievement in a project-based university writing class, and the mediating effect of reflective journal writing. A total of 135 college students participated in the study. The results showed that students with higher writing self-efficacy had higher academic achievement and wrote more reflective journaling. Reflective journaling was found to have a positive impact on reviewing learned content, improving metacognition and memory, and promoting idea development. Overall, consistent reflective journal writing not only enhanced writing self-efficacy but also positively influenced academic performance.

Mediating Effect of Meta-cognition between Locus of Control and Self-efficacy

  • Meta-cognition is the knowledge and cognition of cognitive phenomena, including the control of ones own memory, comprehension, and thought processes. Meta-cognition is similar to self-awareness, which is the understanding of oneself, and affects people's attitudes and behaviors. This study demonstrated the mediating effect of meta-cognition between internal locus of control and self-efficacy. Internal locus of control refers to the steady faith that any outcome is related to one's own efforts. Self-efficacy is a collection of personal strong belief that one individual can achieve his or her own goals. In this study, if a person has a tendency to adopt an internal locus of control, meta-cognition is improved, and self-efficacy can in turn be increased if meta-cognition is improved. This study conducted an empirical analysis through questionnaires conducted on 260 university students. The results of the research demonstrated that there is a highly positive correlation between meta-cognition, control position, and self-efficacy. In addition, this study emphasized that positive meta-cognition with internal locus of control can lead to positive attitudes and behaviors, and positive results.

과학영역에서의 자기효능감과 학업성취의 관계에서 인지적 자기조절학습전략의 매개효과 (The Mediation Effect of Cognitive Self-Regulated Learning Strategy in the Relationships between Self-Efficacy and Achievement in Science)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학영역에서의 자기효능감, 과학성취, 인지적 자기조절학습전략의 관계를 살펴보는데 있다. 설문지를 통해 수집된 초등학교 5학년 158명의 자료가 최종 분석되었다. 학생들의 과학관련 자기효능감과 인지적 자기조절학습전략(시연, 정교화, 조직화, 초인지)이 측정되었고 과학성적이 수집되었다. 기초통계분석으로 상관분석과 회귀분석을 사용하였고 매개효과 검증을 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 검증방법과 구조방정식모형분석이 사용되었다. 매개 효과가 있을 경우 이를 검증하기 위해 Sobel test가 실시되었다. 연구결과 인지적 자기조절학습전략은 과학성적을 예측하는 중요한 요인이었으며 과학영역관련 자기효능감 역시 과학성적을 예측하는 중요한 심리적 구인임이 검증되었다. 매개효과검증 결과 인지적 자기조절학습전략은 자기효능감과 학업성취의 관계에 있어 부분매개자의 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 하위요인별 분석결과 시연전략은 자기효능감과 학업성취의 관계에서 매개자의 역할을 하지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 학생들의 과학성취를 향상시키기 위한 교육적 제언을 하였다.
