  • Two newly recorded species of melitid amphipod, Abludomelita japonica (Nagata, 1965) and A. okhotensis Labay, 2016 belonging to the family Melitidae Bousfield, 1973 were collected from Korean waters. To date, only two genera, Dulichiella Stout, 1912 and Melita Leach, 1814, of the 28 genera of Melitidae have been recorded in Korea, so this is the first record of the genus Abludomelita from Korea. The genus Abludomelita Karaman, 1981 is morphologically similar to Melita Leach, 1814, however they are distinguished by having oblique row of setae on inner lobe of maxilla 2. Both newly recorded species are fully illustrated and compared with related species.

  • Abludomelita rotundactyla (Ren, 2012), belonging to the family Melitidae Bousfield, 1973 has been collected from Baengnyeongdo Island and Yangyang in Korea. This species was previously known from Yellow Sea, China and Sakhalin Island, Russia. Abludomelita rotundactyla is morphologically distinguished from congeners by gnathopod 2, palm excavate, defined by midventral acute process; gnathopod 2 with prominently plump dactylus; pleonites and urosomites dorsal formulae 7-9-9-5-4; and epimeron 3 with posterior serrations. The newly recorded species in Korea, A. rotundactyla is well accorded with the original description except for the number of pleonites dorsal teeth. The newly recorded species is described and fully illustrated in the present study. A key to the Abludomelita species in Korea is also provided. This additional record now brings the total recorded number of abludomelitid species to three in Korea.

  • A melitid species, Melita bingoensis Yamato, 1987 collected from the Yellow Sea, is reported for the first time in Korea. This species has a slit-like pocket in coxa 6 of female, which is not found in other Korean melitid amphipods. In this paper, we compared this species with three other previously known Korean species in the same genus.

  • This study on the four families (Leucothoidae, Melitidae, Pleustidae, and Stenothoidae) of gammaridean and the one family (Caprellidae) of caprellidean amphipods of Ulreung Island was based on the materials collected at eight localities in Ulreung Island. Ten species of six genera were identified. Of these, he (Elasmopus korrunus, and Muero breuispina) are new to science. Four species (Leucothoe nogotoi, 1. spinicawa, Paropleustes denhouini, and Stenothoe volido) are new records for Korean craters. Five species were described and six Lvere illustrated.
