  • This paper presents an EMR(Electronic Medical Record) chart for efficient PDA through the quad tree image rendering based on the mobile. Using the intermediate image space algorithm instead of the final one for volume rendering, we have solved the probems of th eholes coming from the point-to-point to mapping. The quad-tree based on the delta-tree efficiently represents volume expressions and results in higher compression effects. With the volume rendering, we can decrease the rendering time and get a higher quality and efficiency for PDA through image based rendering.

  • The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems consist of various parameters. Among them, the image quality can be arguably the most important part of the systems. As the other components in MRI systems have been developed and evolved, the MRI image quality has been advanced remarkably. And, the radiation imaging system is being converted from the Film to the digital method, which drives the computerization of many hospitals. The management of the tremendous radiation images becomes more critical. The data compression is used to store such large data in a network server. When the image files are compressed, the image quality degrades comparing to its original images. Even slight quality degradation of a medical image could cause an erroneous diagnosis, so the images must be handled carefully. This thesis studied the image assessment methods of comparing the quality of the compressed image to its original, and the quality of the original and the displayed images of the MRI systems via PSNR with actual medical images used in hospitals. As a result, no noticeable quality degradation was found comparing the compressed images with various digital compression methods and the original images. However, it was a different story comparing the original images and the displayed images on MRI monitors. Some noise or image distortion was visible using any regular CRT or LCD monitors were used while the special monitors designed for the MRI imaging and medical images displayed high definition images.

  • In this paper, we have implemented the telemedicine system which has a color image system and a biosignal processor. The inputted image is acquisited to 512 by 480 color image data. The col looted data is compressed to 1/5 of the original image data by using 1/5 and compression algorithm. A biological signals are inputted by 12 bit A/D converter into the system. In case of using 2400bps modem, a frame full color image data and biological information data needed 10 minutes in transmission.

  • The watermarking method was suggested to protect the right of the copyright and the right of property, data loss is yes or not, copy prevention and pursuit about the brainchild(music, image, video and so on) in the early 1990. In this paper, we suggest the watermarking algorithm against the geometrical transformation of the medical images applied the Watershed algorithm. The robust watermarking methodology is being suggested using the several algorithm against the attacks such as compression, filtering, noise and geometrical transformation of the medical image.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel robust blind crypto-watermarking method for medical images security based on hiding of DICOM patient information (patient name, age...) in the medical imaging. The DICOM patient information is encrypted using the AES standard algorithm before its insertion in the medical image. The cover image is divided in blocks of 8x8, in each we insert 1-bit of the encrypted watermark in the hybrid transform domain by applying respectively the 2D-LWT (Lifting wavelet transforms), the 2D-DCT (discrete cosine transforms), and the SVD (singular value decomposition). The scheme is tested by applying various attacks such as noise, filtering and compression. Experimental results show that no visible difference between the watermarked images and the original images and the test against attack shows the good robustness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The main purpose of image enhancement is to improve certain characteristics of an image to improve its visual quality. This paper proposes a method for image contrast enhancement that can be applied to both medical and natural images. The proposed algorithm is designed to achieve contrast enhancement while also preserving the local image details. To achieve this, the proposed method combines local image contrast preserving dynamic range compression and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE). Global gain parameters for contrast enhancement are inadequate for preserving local image details. Therefore, in the proposed method, in order to preserve local image details, local contrast enhancement at any pixel position is performed based on the corresponding local gain parameter, which is calculated according to the current pixel neighborhood edge density. Different image quality measures are used for evaluating the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides more information about the image details, which can help facilitate further image analysis.

  • In this study, the original medical image, DICOM file, was converted into TIFF, BITMAP, GIF, JPEG image file, and then the conversion loss ratio according to the image compression and conversion process was quantitatively evaluated using Origin pro and ICY image analysis program. As the evaluation method, 50% MTF, structural similarity index, MSE, RMSE, maximum signal - to - noise ratio and so on were evaluated. The TIFF image file showed the same result as DICOM image in all experimental groups, Image file format. In this study, we propose a new method for evaluating the quality of digital images by applying original evaluation program such as Origin pro or ICY medical image analysis program. Is expected to be used as research data in the field of medical image processing, and TIFF image file showing the same result as DICOM image in the basic research field using digital medical image and evaluation program that does not support DICOM file Therefore, it is believed that it will help to secure reliability in digital medical image processing research using image file.

  • There are various researches on MPEG techniques. MPEG technique is used to digital TV(DTV) and internet image communication. Connection method between server and client is usually using wire. Applications may be expanded, if wireless technology is used between server and client system. In this paper, Bluetooth is used for connection method between server and client. Bluetooth offers fast and reliable transmissions of both voice and data over the globally available 2.4GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band. One of the major application purposes of Bluetooth is the cable replacement for mobile and peripheral devices. Bluetooth has the advantage of small size, low power and low cost. It has the disadvantage of limited bandwidth and limited range. In order to transfer effectively image Information between server and client using Bluetooth, we apply MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 image compression techniques and the results are compared with each other.

  • In this paper, we propose the lossless coding: scheme for progressive transmission of medical images. The input image is decomposed by the proposed fast adaptive subband decomposition method which is suited for a lossless coding. The decomposed images are coded by an arithmetic coder with two conditioning pixels, and the conditioning pixels are selected differently according to the property of the subbands. The conditioning contexts are usually quantized to reduce the conditional state, and the optimization method of quantization is proposed For the purpose of improving compression ratio in this paper. The proposed lossless coding scheme provides the asymmetric structure of cosec and results in better compression ability than the JPEC lossless coding[ 1 ].

  • In this paper, an efficient scheme for correcting rotated objects in medical images using the Mojette transform is presented. The Mojette transform is a kind of discrete Radon transform, where the transform domain is represented by a set of projections. The Mojette transform currently studied in the image compression area is modified for detecting the rotation angle of objects in medical images. First, in order to find accurate rotation angle, the projection value in the Mojette transform is determined by using pixels on the projection line and in addition the linear interpolation of pixels adjacent to the line. Second, at each projection angle, only one projection is implemented for reducing the amount of the calculation in the process of the Mojette transform. Finally, the projection in the Mojette transform is carried out at the predetermined ROI(Region Of Interest) at which the objects are not cropped or added by rotating the image. The simulation results show that the proposed method has good performance for correcting the rotation angle in medical images.
