  • In digital marketing, the strategic use of emojis in social media advertising, particularly on the Xiaohongshu app, significantly influences consumer acceptance and purchase behavior. This study examines the impact of emoji-laden advertisements and the role of brand metaphorical warmth on consumer perceptions. Employing a tailored questionnaire, the research explores how emojis affect brand advertisement reception, filling a gap in empirical research on emoji advertising effectiveness. Findings indicate that emojis, when used judiciously, enhance consumer acceptance and contribute to a positive brand perception. However, excessive use may undermine trust. Brand metaphorical warmth emerges as a crucial factor, suggesting that emojis can effectively convey warmth, fostering a deeper emotional connection with consumers. These insights offer practical implications for refining social media marketing strategies, advocating for a balanced approach to emoji usage in advertisements to optimize engagement and influence consumer behavior.

To investigate the public perception on science articles, a questionnaire was constructed about the usefulness, importance, access frequency, and understanding of science articles. The questionnaires were conducted in areas with high flow populations such as train stations or subway stations. A total of 425 responses were used for analysis. In order to extract high frequency scientific terms used in science articles, two television companies and two newspapers were designated as target media, and their texts on science articles reported over the last 17 years were collected to investigate the frequency of scientific terms used. Based on the frequency, we conducted the self-report comprehension test for the top 100 scientific terms. The results of this study show that the public in our society has relatively high perception of the importance and usefulness of science articles, however, reading and understanding the articles seems to be somewhat difficult. In addition, the scientific terminology used in science articles has a high degree of comprehension for those of higher education, natural sciences majors, and men. At the stage of correction, we let them criticize the distorted body image in the society with mass media at the same time with the self-reflection. At the stage of maintenance and evaluation, we suggested the behavior guidance while preparing it. Setting this as the basis, we applied the contents such as the evaluations through cultural sharing events making somethings while directly participating. As the target groups to practice education were middle school students, we considered the learning level and behavioral features of the middle school students, and composed the programs including the methods such as role play, watching real things, media production, discussions and experiences.
