Plans for 3D printers Diffusion -Focusing on production figures- (3D프린터 활성화를 위한 방안 -피규어 제작을 중심으로-)

  • Due to the expiration of the 3D printer's patent, the articles covering the market activation and bright prospects for the future industry are being released. What are the requirements for the 3D printer to become popular like a general printer? To get the answer, on-line survey was performed for the activation of 3D printer. As a result, tit is observed that he public prefers creative printer and figure, and prefers to use through pay or free download rather than designing digital blueprint, which is output data. For the activation and popularization of 3D printer, figure is familiar to the public who are frequently exposed to image media contents, and it also has motivation factor to use and purchase 3D printer. For distribution of digital blueprint of figure content, the preparation of related law and regulation and activation of online market would be of help for activation of 3D printer.

An Study of Operational Strategy for Special Libraries on Social Network Service (SNS) (전문도서관의 소셜네트워크서비스 운영방안 연구 - 해양과학도서관 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • This study proposes a customized SNS operational strategy for special libraries based on a case study on the Ocean Science Library (OSL) of South Korea. The study conducted an in-depth analysis on an organizational structure, manpower, contents, and promotion. The outcome of SNS operational strategy deducted from this study can be categorized into several items, including: (1) a selection of an appropriate SNS channel, which meets the objective of the operation; (2) a formal division of works for SNS operation; (3) a designation of full-time managers and an establishment of a task force team; (4) a specialization of contents according to specific subjects; (5) on/off-line promotions focused on events, which encourage participations; (6) an improvement of contents through regular log analyses; and (7) a promotion of library website access through SNS, and so on. This research also suggested the strategies for the development of SNS operation: strengthening of communication and cooperation among librarians; distribution of academic and research outcomes of the umbrella organization; enhancement of a role as a communication channel between librarians and users, and carry out a role as a 'social curator.'

  • Economic crisis, efforts to overcome the digital content industry development at home and abroad have been racing in the country's future lies in the digital content industry. Therefore, the digital content industry through vision, model identification knowledge-based global digital content market-based deployment is required. For research purposes the digital content industry to derive an alternative to national industrial development that will lay the groundwork. The deployment order for the first digital content industry, SWOT analysis performed to derive the Korean-specific model. As a result, measures based on the advancement of digital content industry as a long-term vision and specific goals are presented as staged. The age of convergence of the u-media content markets in government, corporations, consumers, and these form the structure of a virtuous cycle distribution systems for energy by being active, synergistic effects are obtained. Above all, based on the content industry to secure internal and external growth is key. Vision of the digital content, the growth momentum of the national social development policies to be used as a role model by changing the way a series of courses is required.

  • The digital app-book is an advanced form of the electronic book (e-book), which attracts a lot of interests by the help of video, sound, sensors and a variety of interactions. As mobile devices have evolved, the demand of digital app-books is also rising substantially. However, the distribution of digital app-book contents is hard to meet the demand because the digital app-book requires a lot of programming cost for the interaction. To resolve this problem, Was verified and implementation as a library function of the interaction between device and user. The proposed library consists of three parts (user action recognition, device action, and content action) and provides various user-device interaction functions by combining methods of each part, which can support source code reusability, easy understanding and availability, and wide expandibility. The library was used in the development of natural science education app-book contents. As a result, it could reduce a lot of code lines and facilitate more rapid app-book development.

Rain Detection and Removal Algorithm using Motion-Compensated Non-local Means Filter for Video Sequences (동영상을 위한 움직임 보상 기반 Non-Local Means 필터를 이용한 우적 검출 및 제거 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes a rain detection and removal algorithm that is robust against camera motion in video sequences. In detection part, the proposed algorithm initially detects possible rain streaks by using intensity properties and spatial properties. Then, the rain streak candidates are selected based on Gaussian distribution model. In removal part, a non-rain block matching algorithm is performed between adjacent frames to find similar blocks to the block that has rain pixels. If the similar blocks to the block are obtained, the rain region of the block is reconstructed by non-local means (NLM) filter using the similar neighbors. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the previous works in terms of subjective visual quality of de-rained video sequences.

A Study on the Distribution of VOC Concentrations by Attachment Position of Air Samplers for Working Environment Measurement (작업환경측정 시료 채취기의 부착 위치에 따른 유기화합물의 농도 분포에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate differences in concentration according to the position at the left or right shoulder within a 30 cm of radius of workers' respirators and provide basic data for the establishment of an industrial health policy. Methods: Personal samples were collected from a total of 65 workers from 27 manufacturing firms in South Gyeongsang-do Province from November 5, 2011 to December 30, 2012 after classifying the laborers into left- and right-side groups. The organic compound samples were collected and analyzed in accordance with the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM) 1501. Results: In terms of the concentration of organic compounds collected from both left and right shoulders at the position of workers' respirators, isobutyl acetate was the highest with 145 ppm at the left shoulder, followed by ethyl acetate (133.5 ppm) and toluene (38.13 ppm). At the right shoulder, on the contrary, ethyl acetate (149.3 ppm) was the highest, followed by toluene (46.26 ppm), xylene (29.63ppm) and isopropyl alcohol (28.06 ppm). Overall, the right shoulder was higher than the left shoulder in terms of concentrations. Conclusions: For the measurement of the working environment, workers' personal samples should be collected at the place closest to the respirator. In terms of the reduction of error, the attachment of two sample media is expected to reduce errors in exposure assessment.

  • Historically, internet is the fastest growing media together with the ICT development and the key of the development is contents. Digital contents indicate information which covers voice, DB, game, publications and music etc. and the areas have been creating new technology business opportunities. The value chain of digital contents consists of production, collection, processing, services, connection and navigation and is expected to be reorganized around business players of production and distribution areas. This paper presents on those changes occurring in business environment and examples of business models, and further provides industries and academias with technology commercialization strategies.

Analyses on Solute Transport with the Movement of an LNAPL on the Water Table (지하수면 위의 LNAPL 이동을 고려한 용질이동에 대한 분석)

  • A modified model was developed for solute transport in porous media that can consider the movement of an LNAPL above the water table. From the results of sensitivity analyses with and without considering LNAPL movement, there are some differences according to the hydraulic gradient, the quantity of oil leakage and dispersivity. The mean deviation between the model in this study and a conventional model without LNAPL movement increases as the hydraulic gradient decreases and the quantity of oil leakage increases. Variation of dispersivity has no influence on the magnitude of the mean deviation. However, the spatial distribution of the deviation between the two models is wider as dispersivity increases. Furthermore, groundwater is at high risk of contamination in the vertical direction in the case that transverse dispersion value is large. A conventional model underestimates the concentration of solute in an aquifer where the movement of an LNAPL cannot be negligible: Based on the study results, it is important to understand how fast the LNAPL moves on the water table for realistic prediction of solute transport in an aquifer with the movable LNAPL on the water table.

Partial Image Retrieval Using an Efficient Pruning Method (효율적인 Pruning 기법을 이용한 부분 영상 검색)

  • As the number of digital images available to users is exponentially growing due to the rapid development of digital technology, content-based image retrieval (CBIR) has been one of the most active research areas. A variety of image retrieval methods have been proposed, where, given an input query image, the images that are similar to the input are retrieved from an image database based on low-level features such as colors and textures. However, most of the existing retrieval methods did not consider the case when an input query image is a part of a whole image in the database due to the high complexity involved in partial matching. In this paper, we present an efficient method for partial image matching by using the histogram distribution relationships between query image and whole image. The proposed approach consists of two steps: the first step prunes the search space and the second step performs block-based retrieval using partial image matching to rank images in candidate set. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm after assuming that the response tune of the system is very high while retrieving only by using partial image matching without Pruning the search space.

The Prediction of Interior Luminous Effect Through a Comparison of Shading Algorithms (음영처리기법의 비교를 통한 실내공간 조명효과의 예측)

  • In Interior design, light is the most important factor in deciding color, texture and illumination level which are the basic factors of spatial design. To apply rendering technologies on prediction of illuminating effect, it is important to understand and analyse the basic properties of the illumination models that are local illumination model and global illumination model. The illumination models in computer graphics express the factors which determine the surface color, texture and light distribution through the reflection. The purpose of this study is to propose the best way of shading algorithm in interior space provided by the computer, based on the experimental analysis that 5 shading methods are applied to the interior space. The results of this study were as followed. 1) Local illumination models that are Lambert shading, Ground shading and Phong shading are not suitable to the prediction of interior illumination effect. 2) Ray tracing that is global illumination model could be adopted to interior illumination effects. Ray tracing is a very versatile algorithm because of the large range of lighting effects it can model. 3) Neither radiality nor ray tracing offers a complete solution for simulating all interior illumination effects. 4) Radiosity excels at rendering diffuse-to-diffuse inter-reflections and ray tracing excels at rendering specular reflections. By merging both shading techniques, that offers the best of both. Using computer technologies to simulate lighting in preliminary design stage which will provide information for designers and occupants to determine the effect of using artificial light sources at each stage of their design process. Further study in illumination analysis, prediction of illumination effect, and lighting calculation is required as computer media expands.
