Development of Smart Phone App. Contents for 3D Sign Language Education (3D 수화교육 스마트폰 앱콘텐츠 개발)

  • In this paper, we develope the smart phone App. contents of 3D sign language to widen the opportunity of the korean sign language education for the hearing-impaired and normal people. Especially, we propose the sign language conversion algorithm that automatically transform the structure of Korean phrases to the structure of the sign language. Also, we implement the 3D sign language animation DB using motion capture system and data glove for acquiring the natural motions. Finally, UNITY 3D engine is used for the realtime 3D rendering of sign language motion. We are distributing the proposed App. with 3D sign language DB of 1,300 words to the iPhone App. store and Android App. store.

  • In this paper, we propose a 3D conversion algorithm of 2D video using depth layer partition method. In the proposed algorithm, we first set frame groups using cut detection algorithm. Each divided frame groups will reduce the possibility of error propagation in the process of motion estimation. Depth image generation is the core technique in 2D/3D conversion algorithm. Therefore, we use two depth map generation algorithms. In the first, segmentation and motion information are used, and in the other, edge directional histogram is used. After applying depth layer partition algorithm which separates objects(foreground) and the background from the original image, the extracted two depth maps are properly merged. Through experiments, we verify that the proposed algorithm generates reliable depth map and good conversion results.

  • 인터넷 기술의 발달로 기존의 ADSL망에서 VDSL 및 메트로 이더넷으로 진화함에 따라 PSTN망에 의한 전화서비스가 인터넷폰으로 점차 대체되어가며, 수 Kbps 대역폭의 웹캐스팅서비스는 수 Mbps 고화질 인터넷방송이 가능하며, 이러한 통신과 방송의 융합은 하나의 대세로 간주되어, 케이블 사업자의 케이블 모뎀을 이용한 방송 및 초고속 인터넷 서비스에 이어, 통신사업자들도 VOD 및 IP-TV, 인터넷폰을 동시에 제공하는 방안을 준비중에 있다. KT도 홈게이트웨이 기반의 상용 VOD 서비스가 2004년 6월에 개시되어 TV를 통한 홈엔터테인먼트의 초석을 다지게 되었으며 앞으로 IP-TV 및 인터넷폰 서비스를 계속적으로 제공할 예정에 있다. 본고에서는 통신사업자 측면에서 통신 및 방송서비스가 어떻게 융합될 것이며 최신 이슈가 되고 있는 트리플 플레이 서비스 및 전망 그리고 해외 사례를 알아보고, KT에서 제공중인 IP망관련 서비스에 대하여 살펴보기로 한다.

Decomposition of Aromatic Organic Solvents with Catalytic Oxidation in SC-CO2 (초임계 이산화탄소내 촉매산화분해에 의한 방향족 유기용매의 분해특성)

  • The aromatic organic solvents(BTX) were decomposed in the fixed bed reactor packed with a 0.5% $Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ catalyst, then, supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-$CO_2$) was used as the reaction media. And the conversion was dependent on the inlet concentration of BTX and the molar density of SC-$CO_2$. The conversion of BTX was decreased with increasing of inlet concentration, and was increased with temperature and pressure. The maximum conversion of benzene was 98.5% at $300^{\circ}C$ and 204.1 atm, and that of toluene and xylene were 82.0 and 76.5%, respectively, at $350^{\circ}C$ and 204.1 atm. The intermediate products of partial oxidation were identified as benzaldehyde, phenol, benzenemethanol, and so on. The BTX can be effectively converted into harmless $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ at appropriate operating condition. Thus, the nontoxic recovery process was suggested as the removal method of BTX.

16-QAM OFDM-Based W-Band Polarization-Division Duplex Communication System with Multi-gigabit Performance

  • This paper presents a novel 90 GHz band 16-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system. The system can deliver 6 Gbps through six channels with a bandwidth of 3 GHz. Each channel occupies 500 MHz and delivers 1 Gbps using 16-QAM OFDM. To implement the system, a low-noise amplifier and an RF up/down conversion fourth-harmonically pumped mixer are implemented using a $0.1-{\mu}m$ gallium arsenide pseudomorphic high-electron-mobility transistor process. A polarization-division duplex architecture is used for full-duplex communication. In a digital modem, OFDM with 256-point fast Fourier transform and (255, 239) Reed-Solomon forward error correction codecs are used. The modem can compensate for a carrier-frequency offset of up to 50 ppm and a symbol rate offset of up to 1 ppm. Experiment results show that the system can achieve a bit error rate of $10^{-5}$ at a signal-to-noise ratio of about 19.8 dB.

  • Prevalence of common three-dimensional display progresses, increasing the demand for three-dimensional content. Starting from the year 2010 to meet increasing 2D to 3D conversion is insufficient to meet demand content was presented as an alternative. But, Convert 2D to 3D stereo effect only emphasizes content production as a three-dimensional visual fatigue and the degradation of the Quality problems are pointed out. In this study, opened in 2011 'Scenes Guan', the 13 selected Scene is made of the three-dimensional transform the content and the Quality of the transformation applied to the Depth-Map is a visual representation of three-dimensional fatigue and, the adequacy of whether the expert has group interviews and surveys were conducted. Many of the changes are applied to the motion picture of the three-dimensional configurations of Depth-Map conversion technology used in many ways before and after the analysis of the relationship of cascade configurations to create a depth map to the stage. Experiments, presented in this study is a three-dimensional configuration of Depth-Map transformation can lower the production of a three-dimensional visual fatigue and improve the results obtained for a reasonable place was more than half of the experiment accepted the expert group to show a positive reaction were. The results of this study with a rapid movement to convert 2D images into 3D images of applying Depth-map configuration cascade manner to reduce the visual fatigue, to increase the efficiency, and has a three-dimensional perception is the result derived.

  • This manuscript aims to study on the strategy in conversion of media to movie as the second exit for consumption on the webtoon and it can strengthen the position of webtoon as the orignal work. This was just since webtoon had been adapted in other media. The characteristics of media in webtoon can be merit but is variable because the characteristics of media between movie and webtoon are entirely different. , webtoon had storytelling with impressive characters as the component which was proper to media of movie in comparison of the precedent works whose media had been converted from the original webtoon. In case of movies whose media had been converted from the original webtoon, it is inevitably to be dramatized by a director because it is converted to completely different media. The discriminative factors of storytelling are largely owed to the variation of the simple lined characters and structure of storytelling. These could make receivers understand easily when they watch the movie . And then, it had a role as the mechanism that receivers satisfied their expectation. Finally, the movie was succeed with these reasons.

  • Gamut mapping is a technique that acts on cross-media color reproduction to transform a color between devices for the purpose of enhancing the appearance or preserving the appearance of an image. Gamut mapping essentially produces color conversion error which depends on the gamut mapping method, source and destination devices, and sample points for gamut modeling. For color space conversion between monitor colors and printer colors, empirical representation using sample measurements is currently widely utilized. Color samples are uniformly selected in the device space such as CMY or RGB, represented as color patches, and then measured. However, in the case of printer, these color samples are not evenly distributed inside the printer gamut and the color conversion error is increased. Accordingly, this paper introduces a equally distributed color sampling method in CIELAB space, a device- independent color space, to reduce color conversion error, and the performance is analyzed via color space conversion experiments using three-dimensional interpolation.

  • Nowadays, we make an attempt for media conversion from old to new media, carrying out to information society. These changes to new media are considered as new threat to printing media. New means such as CAD(Computer Aided Publishing), on-line novel and webzine can be regarded as new media and we are confronted with need of new changes in the field of printing media because of the trend of the present. It suggests that the origin of commodity competitiveness depends on the ability of cultural Contents using design. Cultural commodity is considered as strategy concepts in the more specific and realistic aspect than in the aspect of industrialization. This study introduce the case of Cellpark Co.,Ltd. which has successfully developed commodity design of World-cup cultural contents as a creating tools of innovative value connecting existed design method based on printing media with new method. This study gave the case which created Blue Ocean market through new expression method of design, products protection of contents design by patent registration, and licensing which many design firms often overlook.
