Analysis of the Effectiveness of Conversion of Three-dimensional Puzzles into Immersive Media based on Play Theory for Children's Experience

  • This study aimed to determine whether there is a significant difference in play properties in the case of media conversion through the combination of analog three-dimensional puzzles and immersive media in children's experience. Based on Roger Caillois' play theory and the contents of previous research, an experience was conducted on an experimental group and control group, and a questionnaire was prepared. The results of the correlation and paired t-test analysis showed that the play properties were higher and more evenly distributed in the media conversion immersive experience. This implies that an increase in children's fun during the immersive experience further increases their immersion, suggesting that the use of immersive media may have a positive effect on children who achieve holistic development through play and experience. We hope that this study will help recognize the difference in effectiveness through conversion into immersive media and will be referenced in various media studies that consider double-play properties.

  • This media conversion in which webtoons are remediated to movies and dramas has taken off since the mid-2000s. Webtoons may be favorable for media conversion into movies and dramas as the story as finished and has proven to be fun with a fixed readership: however, only a small number of webtoon were successful box office hits or received high viewer ratings. Then in 2017, the movie based on the webtoon, succeed in attracting more more then 10 million viewers. In this regard, this study derived the success factors by comparing and analyzing the narrative structure and visual elements of , which was the biggest hit movie, with the original webtoon. The case analysis showed that there are two necessary elements for success: a text configuration of strategy optimized for media conversion, which is based on understanding the different media characteristics of webtoon and movie; and a configuration strategy that exaggerates the personalities of the characters and compresses the story of a webtoon which features various events and many characters in a long series, in consideration of the characteristics of movie which needs to give a big impact in 2 hours.

초임계유체 반응매개상에서 VOCs의 촉매산화 전환특성 (Catalytic Oxidation Conversion Characteristics of VOCs in Supercritical Fluid Media)

  • The catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which were benzene and toluene, was studied in the supercritical carbon dioxide($SC-CO_2$) media. In $SC-CO_2$ media, the deep oxidation conversion of VOCs was increased with the temperature and pressure. The deep oxidation conversion in SC -$CO_2$ media is better than that in air media at same pressure condition. This can be explained by the solubility of VOCs in $SC-CO_2$. The many intermediates produced by the partial oxidation of VOCs were detected from off-line samples. The intermediates were Identified as benzene, toluene, benzaldehyde, phenol, naphthalene, 1,1`-biphenyl, benzoic acid, 3-methylphenol, 1,1'-(1,2-ethanediyl)bis- benzene, 1,1'-(1,2-ethene- diyl)bis-benzene, anthracene, and so on. The amount of intermediates was decreased as the molar radio of oxygen to carbon dioxide was decreased. When the molar ratio of oxygen to carbon dioxide was 1 : 16, the deep conversion was kept constant. Thus, the catalytic oxidation process in $SC-CO_2$ media can be combined on-line with supercritical fluid extraction of environmental matrices and supercritical regeneration of used adsorbent. Thus, the nontoxic $SC-CO_2$ media process was suggested as the new VOCs control technology.

  • We present modality conversion as an effective means for QoS management. We show that modality conversion, in combination with content scaling, would give a wider range of adaptation to support QoS at media level. Here, we consider modality conversion with respect to resource constraint and human factor. To represent modality conversion as well as content scaling, we present the overlapped content value (OCV) model that relates the content value of different modalities with resources. The specification of user preference on modality conversion is divided into qualitative and quantitative levels. The user preference is then integrated into the OCV model so that modality conversion correctly reflects the user's wishes. For the conversion of multiple contents, an optimization problem is formulated and solved by dynamic programming. The experiments show that the proposed approach is efficient to be applied in practice.

  • IPTV 서비스는 대량의 고용량 미디어 콘텐츠에 대하여 다양한 단말기기에 맞는 단일화 된 미디어 포맷 형식으로 변환하여야 하며, 변환을 위한 미디어 콘텐츠의 수집 및 정보를 추출하는 과정을 비롯하여 콘텐츠의 변환 시간에 많은 시간을 소비하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하고자 콘텐츠 자동 수집에 따른 데이터베이스를 설계하고, 미디어 서버와 트랜스코더를 이용한 모든 과정의 자동화 처리를 통해 콘텐츠의 생산성을 높일 수 있도록 하는 시스템을 제안한다. 어떠한 위치에 놓인 콘텐츠 서버 및 스토리지의 미디어 파일에 대하여 자동으로 미디어 서버가 콘텐츠를 수집 및 정보를 추출하며, 트랜스코더에서 자동으로 변환하여, 특정 서버에 변환 결과물의 자동 업로드를 진행하였다. 그 결과 다양한 융복합을 통해 기존 변환방식에 비하여 불필요한 시간낭비를 최소화 할 수 있었다.

On-line Conversion Estimation for Solvent-free Enzymatic Esterification System with Water Activity Control

  • On-line conversion estimation of enzymatic esterification reactions in solvent-free media was investigated. In principle, conversion to ester can be determined from the amount of water produced by the reaction, because water is formed as a by-product in a stoichiometric manner. In this study, we estimated the water production rate only from some measurements of relative humidity and water balances without using any analytical methods. In order to test the performance of the on-line conversion estimation, the lipase-catalyzed esterification of n-capric acid and n-decal alcohol in solvent-free media was performed whilst controlling water activity at various values. The reaction conversions estimated on-line were similar to those determined by offline gas chromatographic analysis. However, when the water activity was controlled at higher values, discrepancies between the estimated conversion values and the measured values became significant. The deviation was found to be due to the inaccurate measurement of the water content in the reaction medium during the initial stages of the reaction. Using a digital filter, we were able to improve the accuracy of the on-line conversion estimation method considerably. Despite the simplicity of this method, the on-line estimated conversions were in good agreement with the off-line measured values.

  • 본 논문은 오늘날 디지털 기술의 발전으로 모든 미디어가 디지털로 빠르게 전환되고 있는 상황에서 전환이 이루어지고 있지 않은 우리나라 라디오 매체의 디지털 전환을 위한 효율적인 방안은 무엇인지에 대해 세계 각국의 자료조사와 전국 분포 2,000명 수용자를 대상으로 한 "라디오방송 청취 행태"에 대해 설문 조사 자료 분석을 바탕으로 국내에 가장 효율적인 전환방안은 무엇인지 제시코자 한다. 라디오 매체는 이동성 개인성, 현장성, 광역성, 즉시성이 강한 매체 특성을 갖고 있으며, 무엇보다 공익성이 강한 매체로 앞으로도 지속적으로 서비스가 필요한 매체이다. 따라서 라디오 매체가 디지털미디어 환경에서 경쟁력을 갖기 위해 디지털로의 전환이 시급한 과제라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 라디오방송의 디지털전환 시 전송방식은 DRM으로, AM방송과 표준FM, 국내방송과 국제방송을 분리하여 추진하고, 향후 복합형수신기 개발과 표준제정이 필요하다는 정책제언을 하였다.

Nitrification Efficiency in Fixed Film Biofilters using Different Filter Media in Simulated Seawater Aquarium System

  • Nitrification efficiency of fixed film biofilters with sand, loess bead, and styrofoam bead in biofilter columns of 1-m height and 30 cm width was studied. Synthetic wastewater was continuously supplied to the culture tank to maintain total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) concentration in the inflow water at around 8 mg/L. The hydraulic loading rate was set at 200 ㎥/$m^2$/day. TAN conversion was stabilized after about 90 day conditioning for all the selected filter media but with net accumulations of nitrite. On the volumetric basis, conversion rates of TAN and nitrite were the highest in styrofoam bead filter. Mean volumetric TAN conversion rates in the final samples were 682, 269, and 79 g TAN/㎥/day in the styrofoam bead, sand and loess bead filters, respectively. Low gravity and cost of styrofoam bead render the handling easier and more cost-effective.

The rate at which web site visitors transfer to consumers is low for online retail, out coming in high customer acquisition expenses. Approximately 96 percent of web site users concluded exclusive of no shopper purchase[1].This category of conversion rate is collected from the advertising of social media sites and pages that dataset must be estimating and assessing with the concept of big data clustering, which is used to group the particular age group of people along with their behavior. This makes to identify the proper consumer of the production which leads to improve the profitability of the concern.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 매체 전환 스토리텔링 관련 팬덤의 속성을 정신분석학의 강박증과 히스테리의 구분을 통해 규명하고자 하는 것이다. 원작각색으로 대표되는 크로스미디어 스토리텔링의 팬덤은 원작을 통해 거대한 만족을 경험한 주체들로서 각색에 의한 스토리 변형을 쉽게 용인하지 않는 강박적 주체이며, 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링의 팬덤은 스토리세계의 결핍을 인지하고, 스스로 결핍을 향유하는 히스테리적 주체이다. 크로스미디어의 원작 팬덤은 원작자의 권위와 원작 스토리세계 안에서 팔루스적 질서를 향유하며, 트랜스미디어의 팬덤은 언어적 질서를 넘어서는 적극적인 직접 체험을 통해 연속적이며 무한한 '다른 향유'를 경험한다. 본 연구는 매체 전환의 양극단에서 나타나는 팬덤의 특성을 강박증과 히스테리의 비교를 통해 규명하기 위한 이론적 입론의 과정이며, 후속연구를 통해 실제 팬덤에 대한 질적 분석을 보강함으로써 매체 전환 팬덤에 대한 총체적 이해의 기반을 마련하고자 한다.
