항공 정찰용 Step-stare 영상획득 시스템 설계 (Design of the Step-stare Image Gathering System for an Aerial Reconnaissance)

  • This paper presents design and performance validation of a method for motion compensation using fast steering mirror. First of all, the schematics of the Electro Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) and step-stare image gathering system for an aerial reconnaissance are introduced. Because of the steering mirror with low inertia so called Back scan mechanism (BSM), the fast step-stare image gathering technique that is required for taking a high-definition still image will be realized. After then, the BSM hardware includes motors and feedback sensors are introduced. Also, the motion profile for BSM will be designed to compensate roll scan motion of the gimbals. At the end of this paper, designed profile and tracking performance of the EO/IR system with BSM will be validated through experiments.

컬러 컴퓨터시각에 의거한 건표고 등급 선별시스템 개발 (Development of Grading and Sorting System of Dried Oak Mushrooms via Color Computer Vision System)

  • An on-line real time grading and sorting system for dried oak mushrooms was developed for on-site application. Quality grades of the mushrooms were determined according to an industrial specification. Three dimensional visual quality features were used for the grading. A progressive color computer vision system with white LED illumination was implemented to develop an algorithm to extract external quality patterns of the dried oak mushrooms. Cap (top) and gil (stem) surface images were acquired sequentially and side image was obtained using mirror. Algorithms for extracting size, roundness, pattern and color of the cap, thickness, color of the gil and amount of rolled edge of the dried mushroom were developed. Utilizing those quality factors normal and abnormal ones were classified and normal mushrooms were further classified into 30 different grades. The sorting device was developed using microprocessor controlled electro-pneumatic system with stainless buckets. Grading accuracy was around 97% and processing time was 0.4 s in average.

  • Erbium doped fiber (EDF) sources are useful devices for characterization of optical components for wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) fiber optic communication system. Therefore, there are many efforts to extend the bandwidth and to increase the power of the light source. Especially, L-band ASE source uses the low inversion state of EDF. It makes the power efficiency very low and needs a lot of fiber as several times as the fiber needed in C-band ASE generation. (omitted)

  • Lately, the demand for automation in the industries has increased and automation system has continuously installed in various industrial fields. But automation for shipbuilding industries is more difficult than others. Because we must cope with diverse ship types and owner's various requirements. Nevertheless, for the past several years a steady development on welding robot for shipbuilding has been going on. Existing automatic welding robots are operated separately and do not communicate with each other. In the existing facilities, although a unit of robot has a good performance, and if all of units are not operated systematically, we are not satisfied with results of our system. So we suggest an integration and operation method of system units. System integration methods applied to our system have in many cases lead to lower cost and shorter lead time.

  • Weight bearing is effective during rehabilitation of gait, in the elderly and disabled people. Various training devices using weight bearing function were developed along with treadmill walking; however, no device has been developed in conjunction to walking on the ground. Here, we designed a rail type frame of a gait rehabilitation system for body-weight support (BWS) function, and analyzed its mechanical safety in the static weight bearing condition of a vertical axis. Computational simulations were performed to analyze structure of the driving parts, which are connected with a rail and driving rollers and the lower plate of the BWS. Structural analyses showed the drivers and BWS were safe, when simulated at 135kg weight under static conditions. Thus, this rail type rehabilitation system can be used for gait training of the elderly and disabled.

  • This paper presents the development of a 3D printed humanoid robotic hands of SignBot, which can perform Malaysian Sign Language (MSL). The study is considered as the first attempt to ease the means of communication between the general community and the hearing-impaired individuals in Malaysia. The signed motions performed by the developed robot in this work can be done by two hands. The designed system, unlike previously conducted work, includes a speech recognition system that can feasibly integrate with the controlling platform of the robot. Furthermore, the design of the system takes into account the grammar of the MSL which differs from that of Malay spoken language. This reduces the redundancy and makes the design more efficient and effective. The robot hands are built with detailed finger joints. Micro servo motors, controlled by Arduino Mega, are also loaded to actuate the relevant joints of selected alphabetical and numerical signs as well as phrases for emergency contexts from MSL. A database for the selected signs is developed wherein the sequential movements of the servo motor arrays are stored. The results showed that the system performed well as the selected signs can be understood by hearing-impaired individuals.

  • 본 연구에서는 임베디드 리눅스 시스템과 FPGA를 이용하여 홈오토메이션 시스템을 구현하였다. 전체적인 시스템은 생활자동차 시스템, 가스/화재 경보시스템, 방문자 영상 확인 시스템으로 크게 나뉘며, 그 목적은 임베디드 시스템을 통하여 생활 속의 각 하드웨어 장치를 자동 제어하고, FPGA 설계를 통해 정해진 역할을 수행함으로써 좀더 진보된 생활을 함과 동시에 편리함 과 사용자의 안전을 동시에 고려해 설계한 시스템이다.

  • This paper presents a design and analysis of torque characteristics of a two-phase SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) for high speed blower system. To reduce the electrical frequency and core losses at high speed region, In order to reduce torque ripple and torque dead-band, variable rotor air-gap structure is adopted and the air-gap is optimized according to torque production. The optimized torque output is verified by the FEM results.

  • The increment of electric power demand causes interest on new higher power system such as 42V Power Net, and furthermore necessity for development of energy storage device is highlighted recently. Owing to high efficiency and easy speed control of brushless DC(BLDC) motor, the demand of BLDC motor that has high power and low noises are increasing. Especially demand of interior permanent magnet(IPM) type BLDC with high efficiency and high power in electric motion vehicle is increasing. This paper presents the design of the BLBC motor for EHPS(Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering) in 42V system and verified the characteristics by simulation and test results.
