강제배기를 수반한 자동차 실내의 환기시스템에 대한 유동 및 열전달 해석 (Flow and Heat Transfer Analysis for the Ventilating System in Automobile Interior with a Forced Exhaust)

  • Numerical modeling has been carried out to investigate the two-dimensional air flow in automobile interior with a forced exhaust close to main air inlet for typical ventilation modes. The characteristics such as streamlines and temperature fields in the passenger compartment room with the forced exhaust are analyzed with comparison of the cases without a forced exhaust. The simulation results show that air flow on the floor near the front seat is increased with the forced exhaust for all ventilation modes. Flow recirculation in the cabin is most active in mode 2 with a vertical suction inlet in comparison with other two modes. In particular, less time is taken for air temperature to reach the inlet temperature due to the forced exhaust for the ventilation modes. Finally, it could be predicted that ventilating air flow is much improved with the forced exhaust in the interior Modeling results in this study can be applied to the optimal design of automobile interior fur air ventilation system.

대면통행 터널의 환기특성에 관한 연구 - 자연환기량을 중심으로 (A Study on ventilation characteristics in bidirectional traffic tunnels - with emphasis on the natural ventilation)

  • 양방향(대면통행) 터널에 대한 자연환기에 대한 결정기준 및 제트팬 용량 검토기준이 명확하게 정립되지 못한 이유로 1km미만의 터널에 대한 기계환기 여부 및 용량산정에 있어 혼선이 나타나고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자연환기량의 특성을 살펴보고, 최근 진행중인 대면통행 터널의 환기설계 기법을 크게 2가지로 분류하여 분석하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 양방향 터널에서의 합리적인 환기용량 산출과 자연환기량에 기초한 자연풍속($Vr^*$)과 소요풍속(Vreq)과의 관계 검토를 통해 자연환기 방식의 적용 가능성에 대한 연구를 수행하였으며, 향후 양방향 터널의 환기기준 수립에 대한 기초자료 제공을 목적으로 하고 있다.

  • In this study, the ventilation performance of mechanical ventilation system in apartment House was analyzed through model test according to characteristics of air-vent. Then adequate interval of air-vent was suggested using computer simulation which will create comfort environment through improvement of ventilation performance in apartment house. The result of experiment with separation plate to prevent mixture of contaminated exhaust air with fresh supply air, the ventilation efficiency improved about 10%. The result of simulation with horizontal location of exterior air-vent, contaminated exhaust air is mixed regardless of interval variation. Consequently, mixture of the exhaust air can be prevented through locating the supply air vent on the top side and exhaust air vent on the lower side.

장대 터널 내 구난역의 열차 화재 시 제연을 위한 1D-3D 연계 해석 (The 1D-3D Simulation for Smoke Ventilation in a Rescue Station of a Railroad Tunnel under the Fire)

  • In the present study a 1D-3D numerical simulation was performed to analyze the fire safety in a rescue station of a long railroad tunnel equipped with a mechanical ventilation. The behavior of hot air was studied for the emergency operation mode of ventilation system in case of fire in the rescue station. The 1D simulation was carried out for entire tunnel region. Detailed 3D CFD simulation was performed for the rescue station area in the central region of the tunnel by using the result of the 1D simulation as the boundary condition of the 3D simulation. Various type of cross passage installation were evaluated for the prevention of smoke diffusion to suggest the optimized interval of the cross passages in the rescue tunnel.

  • For the Designing a Dedicated Outdoor Air System with Ceiling Radiant Cooling Panels the concept of a dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) with parallel sensible cooling was born from the decoupled system concept, which can be summarized as decoupling of ventilation and air-conditioning functions, or decoupling of sensible and latent load functions. First , remove the latent loads from the outside air(OA) intake and generated in spaces using a 100% OA ventilation system(i.e., DOAS). Second, remove the space sensible loads using a parallel mechanical cooling system, such as fan coil units, conventional variable air volume , and ceiling radiant cooling panel(CRCP) independent of the ventilation system.

기계 환기시스템의 실내 환기성능 특성 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristic Analysis for Indoor Ventilation Performance of Mechanical Ventilation System)

  • 본 연구는 실내 쾌적성 제어를 위하여 룸 에어컨의 환기성능을 분석한다. 실험장치는 환경공조챔버, 룸 에어컨, 추적가스 측정시스템, 급기팬과 제어기로 구성된다. 환기성능은 ASTM Standard E741-83 기준에 근거하여 환경공조챔버 내 CO2 추적가스기법을 사용한 체강법에 의해 재실자와 급기 환기량에 따라 평가된다. 급기 환기량 증가에 따라 환기성능이 증가함을 파악하였으며 재실자가 없는 경우 CO2 가스는 빠르게 감소하며 이때의 환기성능은 55%까지 증가한다. 그리고 1명의 재실자가 있는 경우 1시간 경과후 급기량 570 lpm에서 환기성능은 자연감쇠와 비교하여 25%까지 증가한다. 실험 데이터를 사용하여 환경공조챔버 내 룸 에어컨의 환기성능 모델링을 도출하였다.

Numerical investigation and optimization of the solar chimney performances for natural ventilation using RSM

  • In the present study, the finite volume method is applied for the thermal performance prediction of the natural ventilation system using vertical solar chimney whereas, design parameters are optimized through the response surface methodology (RSM). The computational simulations are performed for various parameters of the solar chimney such as absorber temperature (40≤Tabs≤70℃), inlet temperature (20≤T0≤30℃), inlet height of (0.1≤h≤0.2 m) and chimney width (0.1≤d≤0.2 m). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out to identify the design parameters that influence the average Nusselt number (Nu) and mass flow rate (ṁ). Then, quadratic polynomial regression models were developed to predict of all the response parameters. Consequently, numerical and graphical optimizations were performed to achieve multi-objective optimization for the desired criteria. According to the desirability function approach, it can be seen that the optimum objective functions are Nu=25.67 and ṁ=24.68 kg/h·m, corresponding to design parameters h=0.18 m, d=0.2 m, Tabs=46.81℃ and T0=20℃. The optimal ventilation flow rate is enhanced by about 96.65% compared to the minimum ventilation rate, while solar energy consumption is reduced by 49.54% compared to the maximum ventilation rate.

냉매 충진량에 따른 분리형 히트파이프 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the performance of the separate type heat pipe in accordance with the refrigerant charge)

  • 현대 주택이 고기밀 고단열로 건축되기 때문에 에너지 절감의 이점이 있는 반면 오염된 공기로 인한 많은 부작용이 발생하고 있다. 이런 부작용을 해결하기 위해 환기장치를 사용하여 실내 공기 환경을 개선하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐열회수 환기장치의 일종인 히트파이프를 사용하여 작동유체 충진량 및 환기량에 따른 히트파이프의 환기성능을 시험적으로 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 히트 파이프는 환기장치에 적용이 가능하도록 분리형으로 제작되었다. 작동유체는 R22이고 유체의 충진량은 40~55(%vol.)로 5(%vol.) 단위로 충진 하였다. 환기량은 전면풍속을 기준으로 0.3~1.5m/s로 0.3 m/s 간격으로 바꿔 가며 측정하였다. 시험결과 최대 효율을 가지는 냉매 충진량이 환기량에 따라 다름을 알 수 있었고, 실험 결과 분석을 통하여 분리형 히트파이프의 환기량에 따른 최적 냉매 충진량을 찾을 수 있었다.

  • The smoke exhaust system is one of the effective systems to save lives when fire occurs underground. This study presents a complete analysis of effective smoke exhaust and smoke characteristics for a fire occurring with a transverse ventilation system use as a smoke exhaust system. The performance of the smoke management system was studied by computer modeling using FDS version 3.1. A fire size of 20MW was used for tunnel with balanced exhaust transverse ventilation. The smoke management design and the procedure as simulated in this study are also compliant to the tunnel construction and fire codes of Korea.

  • The experimental and the numerical study was performed on the comparison of thermal comfort(TC) and indoor air quality(IAQ) in the lecture room for cooling loads when the operating conditions are changed. PMV value and $CO_2$ concentration of the lecture room were measured and compared with the numerical results. The numerical results showed a good agreement with the experimental one and then the numerical tool was used to analyze thermal comfort and IAQ for a couple of operating conditions. As a result it was found that the increment of the discharge angle of system air-conditioner makes TC uniformity worse, but rarely affects IAQ. Also TC and IAQ were hardly affected by the variation of the discharge airflow. Finally it turned out that TC is merely affected by the increment of the ventilation airflow, but the average $CO_2$ concentration can be satisfied with Japanese IAQ standards of classrooms when the ventilation airflow is more than $800m^3/h$ in this study.
