적층조형 폴리머 재료의 기계적 물성 연구 (A Study on the Mechanical Properties of Additive Manufactured Polymer Materials)

  • 적층조형(additive manufacturing, AM)은 액체, 고체 상태인 폴리머, 금속 등의 재료를 층층이 쌓아서 3 차원 형상을 제조하는 기술이다. AM 기술은 제품 개발 초기단계에서 시제품 제작에 주로 사용되었으나, 최근 들어 이를 실제 제품제작에 적용하는 것에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 한편 AM 기술에서 적층방향은 최종성형품의 기계적 물성에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 폴리머 재료를 사용하는 대표적인 AM 기술인 FDM, PolyJet 그리고 SLA 방식으로 제작되는 재료의 기계적 물성을 실험을 통해 파악하여 보았다. 이때 시험편의 형상은 ASTM D 638 을 참고하였고 적층방향을 달리하여 성형하였다. 시험편의 인장시험으로부터 얻은 응력-변형률 선도를 바탕으로 기계적 물성을 조사하였다. 또한 시험편의 파단부를 SEM 촬영하여 물성차이의 결과를 분석하였다.

  • This paper introduces the partial melting process for solder application and characterization of its feasibility using Sn-Ag, and Sn-Cu solder alloys. ill order to show that the liquid phase in the semi-liquid state maintains the similar wettability as single-phase liquid, the wetting balance tests are conducted with varying temperatures and compositions. Also, as a new soldering technology, the microstructural and mechanical test were investigated. The results from this research indicate that the partial melting can yield satisfactory sider joints as long as the liquid phase acquires sufficient chemical activity. At a condition where the partial melting is effective, a direct correlation between the wettability and the surface tension is found to exist.

  • Weight reduction while maintaining functional requirements is one of the major goals in the automotive industry. The use of lightweight magnesium alloys offers great potential for reducing weight because of the low density of these alloys. However, the formability and the surface quality of the final magnesium alloy product for auto-body structures are not acceptable without a careful optimization of the design parameters. In order to overcome some of the main formability limitations in the stamping of magnesium alloys, a new approach, the so-called "hybrid technology", has been recently proposed for body-in-white structural components. Within this approach, necessary level of mechanical joining can be obtained through the use of lightweight material-steel adhesion promoters. This paper presents the development process of an automotive hybrid hood assembly using magnesium alloy sheets. In the first set of material pairs, the selected materials are magnesium alloy AZ31B alloy and steel(SGCEN) as inner and outer panels, respectively. In order to optimize the design of the inner panel, the stamping process was analyzed with the finite element method (FEM). Laser welding by CW Nd:YAG were used to join the magnesium alloy sheets. Based on the simulation results and mechanical test results of the joints, the determination of die design variables and their influence on formability were discussed. Furthermore, a prototype based on the proposed design was manufactured and the static stiffness test was carried out. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed hybrid hood with a weight reduction of 25.7%.

Sn3.5Ag와 Sn0.7Cu 무연솔더에 대한 고온 진동 신뢰성 연구 (Reliability of High Temperature and Vibration in Sn3.5Ag and Sn0.7Cu Lead-free Solders)

  • 본 연구에서는 고 융점을 지니는 Sn-3.5Ag, Sn-0.7Cu 솔더의 복합 진동 신뢰성을 고찰하였다. 테스트 샘플은 ENIG (Electroless Nikel Immersion Gold) 표면처리 된 BGA (Ball Grid Array)칩에 Sn-3.5Ag, Sn-0.7Cu 솔더볼을 접합 후, 솔더볼이 장착된 BGA부품을 OSP (Organic Solderability Preservative) 표면처리 된 PCB에 리플로우 공정을 통하여 실장 하였다. 복합 진동 신뢰성 시험 중에 부품의 저항 변화를 측정하기 위하여 BGA칩과 PCB는 데이지 체인을 구성하여 제작하였다. 이를 통한 저항의 변화와 시험 전후의 부품에 대한 전단 강도 시험을 통하여 두 종류의 솔더에 대한 복합환경에서의 신뢰성을 비교, 평가하였다. 120시간 복합 진동 동안 전기저항 증가와 접합강도 저하를 고려할 때 Sn-0.7Cu 솔더가 복합 환경에서 높은 안정성을 나타내었다.

저온분사 공정에서 알루미늄 분말의 산화가 임계 적층 속도에 미치는 영향 (Oxidation Effect on the Critical Velocity of Pure Al Feedstock Deposition in the Kinetic Spraying Process)

  • In kinetic spraying process, the critical velocity is an important criterion which determines the deposition of a feedstock particle onto the substrate. In other studies, it was experimentally and numerically proven that the critical velocity is determined by the physical and mechanical properties and the state of materials such as initial temperature, size and the extent of oxidation. Compared to un-oxidized feedstock, oxidized feedstock required a greater kinetic energy of in-flight particle to break away oxide film during impact. The oxide film formed on the surface of particle and substrate is of a relatively higher brittleness and hardness than those of general metals. Because of its physical characteristics, the oxide significantly affected the deposition behavior and critical velocity. In this study, in order to investigate the effects of oxidation on the deposition behavior and critical velocity of feedstock, oxygen contents of Al feedstock were artificially controlled, individual particle impact tests were carried out and the velocities of in-flight Al feedstock was measured for a wide range of process gas conditions. As a result, as the oxygen contents of Al feedstock increased, the critical velocity increased.

TMCP강을 적용한 해상용 풍력타워의 용접 공정에 따른 기계적 물성 평가 (Evaluation on Mechanical Properties with Welding Processes for Off Shore Wind Tower Application)

  • FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding), SAW(Submerged Arc Welding), EGW(Electro Gas Welding), and three-pole SAW are applicable in manufacturing the offshore wind tower. In this paper, mechanical properties of these welded-joints for TMCP steels were evaluated in all above welding processes. The tensile strength of welded-joints for all the welding methods satisfied the standard guideline (KS D 3515). No cracking on weldment was found after the bending test. Changes of weldedments hardness with welding processes were observed. In a weld HAZ (heat-affected zone), a softened HAZ-zone was formed with high heat input welding processes (SAW and EGW). However, the welded-joint fractures were found in the base metal for all cases and small decrease in welded-joint strength was caused by a softened zone. The multi-pole SAW welds exhibited similar mechanical properties comparing to the one with one-pole SAW process.

  • 레이저 용접은 고밀도 용접법 중에 하나로 기존 용접방법에 비해 적은 입열로 깊은 용입과 빠른 용접속도를 얻을 수 있다. 연속 출력 파형 레이저 용접 시 입열량은 레이저 출력 및 용접속도에 의해 결정된다. 본 연구에서는 파이버 레이저를 사용하여 두께 0.5 mm의 순 티타늄 박판에 비드 및 겹치기 용접을 실시하였으며 레이저 출력 및 용접속도에 따른 용접성을 평가하였다. 레이저 출력 및 용접속도에 따른 용입깊이, 비드폭, 접합길이, 비드형상을 관찰하고 인장전단시험을 통해 기계적인 특성을 파악하였다. 실험결과, 겹치기 용접은 $P_L=0.5kW$, ${\nu}=2.5m/min$$P_L=1.5kW$, ${\nu}=6m/min$ 조건에서 양호한 접합길이를 가진 용접부를 얻을 수 있었으며, 용접부는 고출력보다 저출력 조건일 때 더 우수한 연성을 나타냈다.

  • Inconel 625 is useful in variety of industrial applications because of the resistance to attack in various corrosive media at temperatures from $200^{circ}C$ to over $1090^{circ}C$, in combination with good low- and high-temperature mechanical strength. Recently, this material is also used widely in offshore process piping in order to extend the maintenance term and improve the quality of anti-corrosion. Nowadays, the flux cored wire is developed and applied for the better productivity in several welding position including the vertical position. In this study, the weldability and weldment characteristics of inconel 625 are considered in FCAW weld associated with the several shielding gases in viewpoint of welding productivity.

  • Because Seaming process of MPJ (Mechanical Press Joining) has various design factors such as thickness, bending radius, seaming width, caulking press width and the dynamic factor such as multistage plastic working, elastic recovery, residual stress, the optimum conditions can't be easily determined. Using a design of experiment based on the FEM, which has several advantages such as less computing, high accuracy performance and usefulness, this study was performed investigating the interaction effect between the various design factor as well as the main effect of the each design factor during drum MPJ and proposed optimum condition using center composition method among response surface derived from regression equation of simulation-based DOE.

THE EVALUATION OF MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FRICTION STIR WELDEDAL-MG-SI ALLOY

  • The microstructural change associated with the hardness profile in friction stir welded, age-hardenable 6005 Al alloy had been evaluated. Frictional heat and plastic flow during friction stir welding created the fine recrystallized grain (Stir Zone, SZ), the elongated and recovered grain (Thermo-Mechanical Affected Zone, TMAZ) in the weld zone. Heat affected zone (HAZ), which could be only identified by hardness test because there is no difference in the grain structure compared with that of the base metal, was formed beside the weld zone. A softened region had been formed near the weld zone during friction stir welding process. The softened region was characterized by the dissolution and coarsening of the strengthening precipitate during the friction stir welding. The sound joints of 6005 Al alloys were successfully formed under a wide range of the friction stir welding conditions.
