  • Laser scanner are getting used for inspection and reverse engineering in industry such as motors, electronic products, dies and molds. However, due to the lack of efficient scanning technique, the tasks become limited to the low accuracy purpose. The main reasons for this limitation for usefulness are caused from the optical drawback, such as irregular reflection, scanning direction normal to measuring surface, the influence of surface integrity, and other optical disturbances. To overcome these drawback of laser scanner, this study propose the mechanism to reduce the optical trouble by using the 2 kinds of rotational movement axis and by composing the spherical coordinate to scanning the surface keeping normal direction consistently. So, it could be designed and interfaced the measuring device to realize that mechanism, and then it could acquisite the accurate 3D form cloud data. Also, these data are compared with the standard master ball and the data acquisited from the touch point sensor, to evaluate the accuracy and stability of measurement and to demonstrate the implementation of an dental tooth purpose system

  • With the increasing demand for higher production quality and growing competition in the global market, coordinate measuring machine(CMM) has been widely used in industry to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of measurement. In this paper the performance evaluation of coordinate measuring machine is proposed using design of experiments. A factorial design is applied to carry out the performance test proposed by ISO 10360 with a length bar and to investigate CMM measurement errors associated to orientation and length in the work volume. The determination of the significance of effects in an experiment is made through the analysis of variance(ANOVA). The results show that the proposed method is suitable to analyze the factors which affect the CMM measurement performance.

  • Service quality is, unlike goods quality, an abstract and elusive term. However, quality is very important to marketers and consumers in that it has many strategic benefits in contributing to profitability of marketing activities and consumers' problem-solving activities. The main purpose of this study is 1) to explore the differences of perception between consumers and providers about nursing service quality. 2) to identify the useful tool between two tools measuring nursing service quality. To achieve these purposes of the study, the questionnaire was developed and distributed to 210 nurses who worked at seven subjected hospitals in Seoul. Also, 280 people who had a direct experience with the subjected hospital nursing services at the time of screening were involved. They were randomly selected at the seven subjected hospitals during August to September of 1998. Among them, 165 responses from nurses and 229 responses from others resulted in worthy finds. The measurement instrument for a nursing services quality evaluation was modified from the SERVQUAL model originated from Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry (1988). The reliability coefficient of the scale was calculated and showed high degree of internal consistency (Cronbachs' Alpha = .9353). For data analysis, SPSS/PC was used for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis. The results were as follows : 1) In the perception about nursing services quality, there were gap between consumers and providers. Especially the critical attributes in point of perception nursing services quality, naming satisfy, hygiene and performance factors, are very different contents. 2) In the comparison analysis of the usefulness tools it was turned out that SEVPERF model is more appropriate than SERVQUAL model. And in the analysis to identify the construct validity of the tool, it is turned out that the relationship between the constructing factors of the tool and the general satisfaction is significant.

  • Purpose: This study was to explore the level of health status, burnout, and burden of primary family caregivers of the elderly in-patients, and to identify the relations among the factors. Method: The subjects were a total of 232 primary family caregivers of elderly in-patients at K and E Medical Center, and were surveyed from March 1 to April 10, 2007. Measures were a health status measuring tool based on CMI developed by Brodman et al. (1945), the burnout measuring tool developed by Pines et al. (1981), and the burden measuring tool revised by Jung, Soo-Jin (1998). Data were analyzed by SPSS-WIN 12.0. Results: Firstly, the mean of health status was 1.69, which means that they were mostly healthy, and the mean of burnout was 2.66, which means that they were a little burned out. The mean of burden was 2.71, which means that they were a little burdened. Second, there were high correlations between health status and burnout, between health status and burden, and between burnout and burden. Third, there were significant difference in health status and burnout according to sex and relationship, and in burden according to sex, education level and relationship. Conclusions: Nurses need to consider the characteristics, health status, burnout, and burden of primary family caregivers.

  • In this study, NIMAX material has been processed using the three-dimensional measuring instrument and white light interferometer. they were tested to roundness and surface roughness and results are as follows: As for a cutting characteristic, it indicated that F4 showed a lower result than 2F showed due to the high hardness of the material and showed a good result when spindle rotation speed and tool feed were low. As for the measurement of roundness through 3-Dimensional measuring machine, it indicated that 4F showed a good result like the condition of cutting component and that roundness showed a good result when spindle rotation speed of 1,700 rpm and tool feed speed of 85 mm/min were applied. As for the surface roughness of processing surface, Surface roughness showed better 4F than 2F and conditions of spindle rotation speed 1,700 rpm, tool feed rate 55 mm/min showed good results in the Ra $0.4025{\mu}m$.

  • The majority of mechanical parts are manufactured by milling machines. Hence, geometrically efficient algorithms for tool path generation and physical considerations for better machining productivity with guarantee of machining safety are the most important issues in milling tasks. In this paper, an optimized path generation algorithm for direction parallel milling which is commonly used in the roughing stage is presented. First of all, a geometrically efficient tool path generation algorithm using an intersection points-graph is introduced. Although the direction parallel tool path obtained from geometric information have been successful to make desirable shape, it seldom consider physical process concerns like cutting forces and chatters. In order to cope with these problems, an optimized tool path, which maintains constant MRR in order to achieve constant cutting forces and to avoid chatter vibrations at all time, is introduced and the result is verified. Additional tool path segments are appended to the basic tool path by using a pixel based simulation technique. The algorithm has been implemented for two dimensional contiguous end milling operations, and cutting tests are conducted by measuring spindle current, which reflects machining situations, to verify the significance of the proposed method.

  • Machining process introduces thermal deformation of a cutter, which affects the surface finish of the workpieces. By measuring the temperature distribution of the cutter, thermal stress and deformation of the cutter are simulated. In addition, surface roughness of workpiece is simulated by the surface-shaping system. The result shows that thermal deformation deteriorates the surface roughness.
