This study was performed to construct a hot strip speed measuring system and check over whether the measured speed can be used for improving the mass flow of the head-end part of a hot strip in the 7-stand finishing mill. Because the mass flow in hot rolling mill affects the looper operation and the thickness and width control of a strip, accurate measurement of strip speed ie important. The measured speed was compared with the roll speeds of No. 6 and No.7 stand to check the performance of the system and analyzed to find how to apply the speed. As a result, it is shown that the accuracy of the system is enough, strip thickness error can be reduced by -275∼+200$\mu\textrm{m}$ using the measured speed and the existing FSU model has low accuracy for predicting forward slip rate. A neural network was developed to calculate forward slip rate instead of FSU model. The test result of the neural network shows that the neural network is more accurate than the FSU model.

This is the first recorded case of Sarcoptes scabiei in a Korean female raccoon confirmed by light and scanning electron microscopies. Grossly the skin on the abdomen head and legs was markedly thickened with alopecia and encrustation. histopathologically skin showed epidermal hyperplasia with spongiotic degeneration and parakeratosis. Ectoparasites were present in superficial and deep epidermal layers. Small numbers of leukocytes predominantly neutrophils were associated with the parasitic infestation. Scanning electron microscopy examination of affected skin scraping demonstrated round to oval parasitic mites measuring approximately 180 -250 x 220 - 350 um in size. The mites possessed four pairs of legs of which the two anterior pairs appeared relatively long with unjointed stalks while the two posterior leg pairs were rudimentary. these morphological features were consistent with Sarcoptes scabiei.

The laws of physics that govern actions of all moving bodies apply to sound. Because sound and all acoustic conditions consistently behave as described by the law of physics, we are able to predict and analyze the nature of a sound and its interaction. A fundamental understanding of the nature of the sound and terms used to describe it is essential to comprehend the language of otolaryngologists, audiologists, music acousticians, and engineers. Moreover, studying the basic physics of the sound helps one recognize complexities and potential pitfalls in measuring describing sound. We will talk about the structure of sound and its components, and we will see the various qualities of sound that make it interesting and useful to understand.

An experimental test facility for the complete characteristics of pumps is constructed at KIMM(Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials). All sensors instrumented in test facility for measuring flow rate, pressure, force and moment are in-situ calibrated by primary method. This paper describes the test facility and test technique of the complete characteristics of pumps, together with an experimental test results for a reactor coolant pump which is designed at KIMM for the first time in Korea. The test results for the mixed-flow type pump of $n_s$=1.425 are presented by three curves: constant head, torque, and speed.

This computer simulation is the basic research for realize a real-time hardware of the reproduction system in original sound field with two loudspeakers based on the OSS(Ortho Stereophonic System) method which was proposed by Hamada of Japan in 1983. Through the computer simulation, presumed the system function of OSS equalizer using HRTF(Head Related Transfer Function), constructed the model of OSS equalizer and , evaluated the modelling OSS equalizer by evaluation formula. The obtained results are summarized as follows : 1) By the modelling OSS equalize operate as inverse filter of HRTF, an input signal reproduced effectively. 2) Known that the real-time hardware of OSS equalizer can be made by the fast convolution between the impulse response of OSS equalizer and input speech signal. 3) Since the system function of OSS equalizer presumed from HRTF, the study on the measuring of HRTF have to proceed.

We studied on the ultra thin DMPC by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) method. The $\pi$ -A isotherm of the DMPC was measured at the air-water interface varying with the compressing speed and amounts of solutions for spreading. DMPC molecules have one phosphatidylcholine head group and two long alky groups with carbonyl group. Displacement currents generated during the compression of monolayers of DMPC on the surface of water were investigated. The molecular arrangement of deposited films were evaluated by measuring the absorption with the UVspectrometer. And we made structures of metal(Au)/DMPC/Metal(Au) and examined electron through DMPC LB films by means of current-voltage(I-V) measurement .

When combustion gas is cooled down below the dew point of sulfuric acid vapor in the heat recovery systems, condensation occurs. Since the condensed sulfuric acid solution causes low-temperature corrosion in materials, it is important to measure the SOx dew point by electric measurement. In this study, two kinds of probes having electric gaps of 1mm or 2mm were used. and experiments were carried out by the parameters of sulfuric acid vapor and water vapor concentration. The changes of electric current caused by sulfuric acid condensed on the surface of probe according to the cooling rate and the probe head surface temperature were sudied. The opimum cooling rate was decreased with the increasing of water vaper concentration regardless of sulfuric acid concentration. The sensitivity of electric current is improved for the narrower gap(1mm) of ring electrodes, but it rarely affects the SOx dew point measuring of different probes according to the change of cooling rate.

In this study, experimental and theoretical methods were applied to understand brake squeal noise VVVF rolling stock on tracks. Trailer cars needed to payed a particular attention, because they were the major source of brake noise. VVVF rolling stocks for lines no 1 of the subway system in Seoul were used for experimental analyses. In order to study brake squeal noise, a dynamometer test at the S&T Brake, Co., which was a manufacturer of brake pads had performed. For measuring vibration and noise, vibration tests of brake parts (brake lining, brake lining head, back plates, etc.) at the SNUT were executed. Also, vibration tests of disc assembly and lining block at the heavy maintenance shop of the Gunja depot were performed. The modal analyses by using an ANSYS which was one of the CAE commercial program were simulated to know the relationship to the mechanism of brake noise. On the based of the tests and the simulations it was found that specific frequencies of the brake parts affected squeal noise, and improvements for reducing squeal noise were proposed.

We proposed a new system for the postural balance rehabilitation training. For the purpose, we used the virtual hiking system using virtual reality technology. We evaluated the system by measuring the parameters such as path deviation, path deviation velocity, cycling time, and head movement. From our results, we verified the usefulness of virtual reality technology in rehabilitation. Our results showed that this system was effective postural balance rehabilitation training device and might be useful as the clinical equipment.

멸치 젓갈에서 분리된 파아지의 일반적인 성질과 파아지 DNA 서열을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 멸치 젓갈에서 분리된 파아지의 플라그는 대체로 작고 선명한 핀 형태로 직경 0.5∼l.0 mm이었으며, 파아지의 형태는 지름 68 nm의 대칭형 두부와 길이 100 nm의 contractile 미부를 가지고 있었고 base plate가 관찰되었다. 파아지 DNA의 크기는 약 20 Kbp 정도이었으며, DNA 염기서열은 H. salinarium 파아지 hp 32와 52.87%의 상동성을 나타내었으나 보다 정확한 분류를 위해 파아지 DNA의 전체 염기서열에 대한 분석이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
