Statistics is the science of data. As the foundation of scientific knowledge, data refers to evidentiary facts from the nature of reality by human action, observation, or experiment. Clinicians should be aware of the conditions of good data to support the validity of clinical modalities in reading scientific articles, one of the resources to revise or update their clinical knowledge and skills. The cause-effect link between clinical modality and outcome is ascertained as pattern statistic. The uniformity of nature guarantees the recurrence of data as the basic scientific evidence. Variation statistics are examined for patterns of recurrence. This provides information on the probability of recurrence of the cause-effect phenomenon. Multiple causal factors of natural phenomenon need a counterproof of absence in terms of the control group. A pattern of relation between a causal factor and an effect becomes recognizable, and thus, should be estimated as relation statistic. The type and meaning of each relation statistic should be well-understood. A study regarding a sample from the population of wide variations require clinicians to be aware of error statistics due to random chance. Incomplete human sense, coarse measurement instrument, and preconceived idea as a hypothesis that tends to bias the research, which gives rise to the necessity of keen critical independent mind with regard to the reported data.

The role of maintenance in railway is going to be extended to improve the reliability of railway system in the aspect of Asset management gradually. In this paper, the meaning of reliability and safety in RCM which has been applied in order to improve the efficiency of maintenance is deduced. And the analysis task of reliability and safely which has been recommended in railway standards such as EN50126 and IEC62278 is reviewed in the aspect of RCM. Finally, the several ways are proposed to apply RCM to railway system through the comparison between the RCM procedure and the analysis procedure for the reliability and safety in railway standards. Hereafter, if the analysis of reliability and safety is performed with the concept of RCM in the beginning of railway business, it will be more efficient to improve the reliability and manage the railway asset.

현대는 점점 더 기호의 복잡성으로 다양한 의미를 생산해내는 문화가 지배적으로 되어가고 있다. 정보의 매개체로서 중요한 캐릭터란 시각을 통해서 경험하는 대상물의 본질적인 특성이다. 캐릭터는 형태에 의해서 상징적인 의미를 가지며 기호화된다. 애니메이션에 있어 캐릭터는 단순히 이미지의 표현이 아닌, 하나의 기호에 또 다른 기호를 중첩시켜 의미 작용을 확장시켜 가는 시각커뮤니케이션이다. 이러한 시각커뮤니케이션 수단으로서의 캐릭터에 표출된 시각적, 문화적 요소의 분석은 애니메이션에 나타난 캐릭터가 단순히 미학적 매커니즘이 아닌 새로운 스타일을 이끌어가는 문화코드로서의 역할을 수행할 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 퍼스의 기호 유형 범주인 도상, 지표, 상징이라는 개념을 들어 영화 ‘슈렉’에 나타난 캐릭터의 외모와 성격적 특성에 대해 체계적인 분석을 시도하면서 애니메이션이 나타내고 있는 기호현상들을 연구하였다.

Recent advances in systems biology are shedding a new light on the traditional medicine research. The systems biology highlights the way each component interacts with each other within a system, and the network behavior that emerges from such interactions. This feature of systems biology can accent the systemic aspects of Korean medicine such as the mechanism of action of herbal formulae, pattern differentiation, and the meridian systems, as both the Korean medicine and the systems biology theorize the human physiological functions and phenomena from a holistic point of view. This paper outlines the meaning of the recent Korean medicine research using the systems biology methodology. We discuss the methodologies of the two fields in a comparative manner, and overview the advantages and limitations of the integrated approaches. Finally, we suggest the future prospects for the systems biology inspired approaches to the Korean medicine research. The systems biology may provide a new modernized research methodology for the Korean medicine that can highlight its unique features.

This thesis sets out to study the immanent mechanism of architecture which had classified as external spaces in general. As human controls a space, it controls or manages human's behavior, too. This study is depended on the humanities to analyze a various operation of power in the architectural space. It makes a comparative study of a space-power in a dwelling space through a discourse of Michel Foucault and Jacques Lacan, in particular everyday's microscopic scope. According to analytical results, the space-power of dwelling falls under the influence of a spacial arrangement and subject's desire. It has shown a noticeable characteristics in aspects production & consumption, using behavior, and use value. As it is seen through the aspects of production & consumption, owns of the space-power in a dwelling could not be its subject. We have also understood about a physicalistic furniture at the using behavior, it has a special power unconsciously to control a human's action and lifestyle. And then in the aspects of use value, the centric theme is a television. It lies on the core of space-power in dwelling, because is profoundly related to an innate respect of a dwelling value. In conclusion, so this study has the important meaning in the side to offer some interpretative possibility about the architectural space-power through a microscopic structure.

시각 커뮤니케이션에서의 영상의 역할은 정보화의 진전에 따라 더욱 증대해 가고 있다. 물론 그것은 정보의 직접적, 구체적 재현이라는 기능에만 있는 것이 아니라 영상에 의한 이미지 표현의 무한한 가능성을 추구하는 것이다. 이것은 또한 앞으로의 영상 커뮤니케이션의 방향이기도하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 고도화된 현대사회에서 쏟아져 나오는 영상 이미지들을 커뮤니케이션 수단으로 본다면 시각정보의 이미지를 지각하는 사용자 정보처리에 대한 시각기호의 방법론의 의미작용 과정을 인지함으로써 수용자와의 상호작용에 있어 커뮤니케이션의 기능 향상을 훌륭히 수행해 나갈 수 있다는 관점으로 성립된다는 것이다.

The objective of this study was to analyze the reality of the program development process in detail accomplished by the organizations of extension education in through the hermeneutical approach. To achieve this purpose, this study tried to find answers to the following three questions : (1) how the organization of extension education develop their programs for farmers? (2) what is the programmers' awareness to the process of program development? and what is the reason for their thought and action to do so. (3) can be discussed integrally the findings for drawing some implications? The qualitative data were mainly gathered through participation observation and unstructured interview. And the qualitative data were analyzed by (1) noting pattern and themes, (2) seeing plausibility, (3) clustering, (4) making metaphors, (5) factoring, and (6) building a logical chain of evidence which hermeneutical techniques far drawing the meaning from the gathered data. The findings of this study were as follows: The programmers of this organization carried out the developing program in the technical training division at the national level and the section of fostering farm manager at the county level for the purpose of delivering the agricultural new technology and the agricultural policy. The term used formly in this organization was `curriculum development for former', and the reality of program was `instruction profile` which signified the set of the educational manin contents. At county level, Educational planning was stressed on the implement of educational administration.

When a court recognizes an arbitral award, it acknowledges that the award is valid and binding, and thereby gives it a set of effects similar to those of a court's judgment, among which res judicata is the most important. The res judicata effect of an arbitral award generally forbids parties to an action from subsequently litigating claims that were raised in a prior arbitration. In common law countries, res judicata may also preclude re-adjudication of issues raised and decided in a prior arbitration. The Korean Arbitration Act acknowledges the rights of parties to an arbitral award to seek not only an enforcement judgment but also a recognition judgment on an arbitral award. Therefore, the question arises whether or not the winning party in an arbitration must acquire a recognition judgment on the arbitral award in order to enjoy the effects of a recognized award. However, according to the case law and generally accepted views, an arbitral award is automatically recognized without any additional procedure, as long as it satisfies the requirements for recognition. Therefore, in order to resolve this question, it is desirable to eliminate the statutory clause that stipulates the right to seek recognition judgment.

During the past 20 years, a small but potentially powerful initiative has established itself in the mathematics education landscape: Mathematics Across the Curriculum (MAC). This curricular reform movement was designed to address a serious problem: Not only are students unable to demonstrate understanding of mathematical ideas and their applications, but also they harbor misconceptions about the meaning and purpose of mathematics. This paper chronicles the brief history of the MaC movement. The sections of the paper correspond loosely tn the typical steps one might take to solve a mathematics problem. The Problem Takes Shape presents a discussion of the social and economic forces that led to the need for increased articulation between mathematics and other fields in the American educational system. Understanding the Problem presents the potential value of exploiting these connections throughout the curriculum and the obstacles such action might encounter. Devising a Plan provides an overview of the support systems provided to early MAC initiatives by government and professional organizations. Implementing the Plan contains a brief description of early collegiate programs, their approaches and their differences. Extending the Solution details the adoption of MAC principles to the K-12 sector and throughout the world. The paper concludes with Retrospective, a brief discussion of lessons learned and possible next steps.

The purpose of this study is about the influence of the Service quality on the customer loyalty depending on the customer value(social and psychological value, functional value) because of the dynamic business environment is react quickly and flexibly, many of today's companies are required to consult an expert. According to the circumstances, Service Firms(Hotel) should be provide a differentiated service for each customer. And this paper attempt to theoretical organize and take advantage of practical in Service industry. The questionaries of 154 from the companies which have received Service in 3 years in the metropolis and small and medium-sized cities were used to test hierarchical regression model with mediating effects of customer value between Service quality and Customer loyalty by SPSS(PASW) 18.0 version. From these analyses, the following results were obtained: First, social-psychological value have partially mediated effect on the tangibility, responsibility, assurance and customer loyalty. Second, functional value have partially mediated effects on the between tangibles, reliability and customer loyalty. The result suggests that 'tangibility', 'reliability', 'responsibility', 'assurance', 'empathy' are the most important factors to affect customer loyalty, and there are partially mediated effects of customer intention between Service quality and Customer loyalty. In conclusion, to improve the specific and actual meaning and value about the Hotel service quality and to give the suggestions on the Hotel's marketing communication by understanding the customer action.
