확률론적 특성을 갖는 선형 동적계의 과도응답 해석 (Transient Response Analysis of Linear Dynamic System with Random Properties)

  • Most dynamic systems have various random properties in excitation and system parameters. In this paper, a procedure fur response analysis is proposed for the linear dynamic system with random properties in both excitation and system parameters. The system parameter and response with random properties are modeled by perturbation technique, aand then response analysis is formulated by probabilistic and vibration theories. And probabilistic FEM is also used for the calculation of mean response which is difficult by the proposed response model. As an application example, the transient response is calculated for a sdof system with random mass and spring constant subjected to stationary white-noise excitation and the results are compared to those of numerical simulation.

  • By using simulated ground motions, which is sum of earthquake signals and noise, we measured the distortion of response spectra due to noise. We found that the distortion is more closely related to the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio of root-mean-square (RMS) measurement than that of conventional peak measurement. Given a S/M ratio, the distortion of absolute acceleration response spectra is independent on the earthquake magnitude, while that of relative displacement response spectra has a strong dependence on the earthquake magnitude. This means that, when we calculate response spectra from time histories, we can efficiently predict the distortion of acceleration response spectra simply by measuring the RMS SJN ratios, or the distortion of displacement response spectra by combining the RMS S/N ratios and the earthquake magnitudes.

재난변동풍하중을 받는 고층건물의 평균자승응해석 (Mean Square Response Analysis of the Tall Building to Hazard Fluctuating Wind Loads)

  • 시간과 공간에 따라 변화하는 난류성분의 변동풍하중을 받는 고층건물의 경량화 및 연성화 현상은 고유진동수와 감쇠비를 적게함으로서 동적으로 매우 불리한 진동문제을 발생하게 되어, 변동풍하중을 받는 도심의 고층건물에 대한 동적해석의 중요성이 인식되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 돌풍과 같이 짧은 시간동안에 통계적 성질이 변화하는 변동풍하중을 나타내기 위하여 정상불규칙 풍하중에 시간에 따라 변화하는 결정적함수(A(t) = 1-exp($-{\beta}t$))를 곱하여 나타냈고, 이러한 변동풍하중을 받는 고층건물에 대한 평균류방향의 동적변위응답해석은 진동이론으로부터 Time-dependent Response Spectral Density함수를 나타냈고, 진동함수를 포함하여 나타내는 Time-dependent Response Spectral Density의 진동수영역에 대한 적분의 해로부터 동적응답을 해석적으로 구하기 위하여 Contour적분에서 Cauchy의 적분정리와 잔유치 정리(residue theorem)에 의한 잔유치 적분으로부터 해석함수를 구했다. 해석 예에서 본 논문에서 구한 해석함수와 기존의 수치해석방법에 따른 결과를 비교 검토했고, 고층건물의 동적 특성에 따른 해석결과도 비교 검토했다.

  • there is no earthquake resistant design code for the unreinforced masonary(URM) buildings in Korea. But it does not mean that all URM buldings in Korea is safe under the possible extent of an earthquake. The purpose of this study is in the inelastic analysis of unreinforced masonary walls with many different types of openings and carry out their ductilities an strengths, response modification factor of each wall has been compared and the most appropriate response modification factor for URM building in Korea has been proposed.

Robust Designs to Outliers for Response Surface Experiments

  • This paper treats a robust design criterion which minimizes the effects of outliers and model inadequacy, and investigates robust designs for some response surface designs. In order to develop a robust design criterion and robust design, the integrated mean squared error of *(equation omitted) over a region is utilized, where *(equation omitted). is the estimated response by the minimum bias estimation proposed by carson, Manson and Hader (1969) . According to the number of aberrant observations and their positions, the proposed criterion and designs are studied. Also further development of the proposed criterion is treated when outliers can occur in any position of a design.

  • 일반적으로 암반의 물성은 암반이 가지고 있는 불확실성이란 특성 때문에 하나의 대표치로 표현되는 것보다는 어느 정도의 분산성을 포함하는 값으로 표현되는 것이 타당하다. 이러한 특성은 지하구조물 설계에 중요한 부분이지만 아직까지 잘 정립되지 못한 부분이다. 확률유한요소법은 결정론적 유한요소법에 대비되는 말로써 구조계의 불확실성을 해석에 반영하기 위해 개발된 방법이다. 따라서, 이 방법을 이용하면 구조계의 응답 변화도를 얻을 수 있고 이를 통하여 확률적 안정성 분석이 이루어 질 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 암반물성(변형계수)을 평균과 표준편차로 정의되는 확률변수로 표현하여 정수압상태의 암반에 원형공동이 굴착될 경우 변위의 응답변화도를 분석하였다. 분석된 변위의 응답변화도는 변형계수의 표준편차에 따라 상당한 편차를 보이고 있어 신뢰성 있는 변형계수의 평균과 표준편차를 이용한 지하구조물의 확률적 안정성 분석이 이루어져야 할 필요성을 보여주고 있다.

평균 응력을 고려한 음향 하중을 받는 항공기 센서 포드 외피 구조의 내구 수명 분석 (Fatigue Life Prediction for the Skin Structures of Aircraft Sensor Pod Under Acoustic Load with Mean Stress)

  • The skin structure of sensor pod mounted on the exterior of aircraft can be exposed to the acoustic dynamic load and static load such as aerodynamic pressure and inertial load during flight. Fatigue life prediction of structural model under acoustic load should be performed and also differential stiffness of model modified by static load should be considered. The acoustic noise test spectrum of MIL-STD-810G was applied to the structural model and the stress response power spectral density (PSD) was calculated. The frequency response analysis was performed with or without prestress induced by inplane static load, and the response spectrum was compared. Time series data was generated using the calculated PSD, and the time and frequency domain fatigue life were predicted and compared. The variation of stress response spectrum due to static load and predicted fatigue life according to the different structural model considering mean stress were examined and decreasing fatigue life was observed in the model with prestress of compressive static load.

2016년 경주지진 스펙트럼과 한국표준설계스펙트럼의 비교 (Response Spectra of 2016 Gyeongju Earthquake and Comparison with Korean Standard Design Spectra)

  • On September 12, 2016, Gyeongju earthquake occurred. Its local magnitude was announced to be $M_L=5.8$ by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). Ground motion data recorded at KMA, EMC and KERC stations was obtained from their data bases. From the data, horizontal and vertical response spectra, and V/H ratio were calculated. The horizontal spectrum was defined as geometric mean spectrum, GMRotI50. From the statistical analysis of the geometric mean spectra, a mean plus one standard deviation spectrum in lognormal distribution is obtained. Regression analysis is performed on this curve to determine the shape of spectrum including transition periods. Applying the same procedure, the shape and transition periods of vertical spectrum was obtained. These results were compared with the Korean standard design spectra, which were developed from domestic and overseas intraplate earthquake records. The response spectra of Gyeongju earthquake were found to be almost identical with the newly proposed design spectra. Even the V/H ratios showed good agreement. These results confirmed that the method adopted when developing the standard design spectra were valid and the developed design spectra were reliable.

MBRDR: R-package for response dimension reduction in multivariate regression

  • In multivariate regression with a high-dimensional response Y ∈ ℝr and a relatively low-dimensional predictor X ∈ ℝp (where r ≥ 2), the statistical analysis of such data presents significant challenges due to the exponential increase in the number of parameters as the dimension of the response grows. Most existing dimension reduction techniques primarily focus on reducing the dimension of the predictors (X), not the dimension of the response variable (Y). Yoo and Cook (2008) introduced a response dimension reduction method that preserves information about the conditional mean E(Y | X). Building upon this foundational work, Yoo (2018) proposed two semi-parametric methods, principal response reduction (PRR) and principal fitted response reduction (PFRR), then expanded these methods to unstructured principal fitted response reduction (UPFRR) (Yoo, 2019). This paper reviews these four response dimension reduction methodologies mentioned above. In addition, it introduces the implementation of the mbrdr package in R. The mbrdr is a unique tool in the R community, as it is specifically designed for response dimension reduction, setting it apart from existing dimension reduction packages that focus solely on predictors.

A Graphical Method for Evaluating the Effect of Blocking in Response surface Designs Using Cuboidal Regions

  • When fitting a response surface model, the least squares estimates of the model's parameters and the prediction variance will generally depend on how the response surface design is blocked. That is, the choice of a blocking arrangement for a response surface design can have a considerable effect on estimating the mean response and on the size of the prediction variance even if the experimental runs are the same. Therefore, care should be exercised in the selection of blocks. In this paper, we prognose a graphical method for evaluating the effect of blocking in a response surface designs using cuboidal regions in the presence of a fixed block effect. This graphical method can be used to investigate how the blocking has influence on the prediction variance throughout the entire experimental region of interest when this region is cuboidal, and compare the block effect in the cases of the orthogonal and non-orthogonalblockdesigns, resfectively.
