Blockchain-Based User-Participatory Game Update: Maze Escape Game Case (블록체인 기반 사용자 참여 게임 업데이트: 미로탈출게임 사례)

  • In this note, we propose a game system to fairly and transparently control and update game variables using blockchain. As an example, we present an Ethereum-based maze escape game, being the first blockchain-based maze game and the first attempt to control game level through blockchain. In this system, the level function computes maze level reflecting the amount of maze walls purchased/sold by users. Using blockchain for game management saves human and economic resources and prevents unfair practice of game developers unilaterally manipulating game level or item enhancement rate.

A Design and Implementation Mobile Game Based on Kinect Sensor

  • In this paper, we design and implement a mobile game based on Kinect sensor. This game is a motion recognition maze game based on Kinect sensor using XNA Game Studio. The game consists of three stages. Each maze has different size and clear time limit. A player can move to the next stage only if the player finds the exit within a limited time. However, if the exit is not found within the time limit, the game ends. In addition, two kinds of mini games are included in the game. The first game is a fruit catch game using motion recognition tracking of the Kinect sensor, and player have to pick up a certain number of randomly falling fruits. If a player acquire a certain number of fruits at this time, the movement speed of the player is increased. However, if a player takes a skeleton that appears randomly, the movement speed will decrease. The second game is a Quiz game using the speech recognition function of the Kinect sensor, and a question from random genres of common sense, nonsense, ancient creature, capital, constellation, etc. are issued. If a player correctly answers more than 7 of 10 questions, the player gets useful items to use in finding the maze. This item is a navigator fairy that helps the player to escape the forest.

Solving Escapee-Chaser Game via Model Checking (모델 체킹을 이용한 도망자-추적자 게임 풀이)

  • We have been interested in solving escapee-chaser game. In this game, with avoiding chaser, the escapee must escape from given male. The winning strategies of the escapee are driving the chaser to an intended place and closely evading from chaser by using some walls. According to our experience, some stages of the game are too difficult to solve manually. So we take the model checking method to get a solution of the game. Because the model checking with breadth fist search manner exhaustively searches the all state space of the game, the solution using model checking is best solution, shortest path. Fortunately, during the process of finding solution path, the state space explosion problem didn't occur, and the results of the game solving was applied to embedded system, Lego Mindstorm. Two agents, escapee and chaser, were implemented into robots and several experiments conformed the correctness of our solution.
