Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Optimum PV/inverter Sizing Ratio for Grid-connected PV Systems: Application to Selected Algerian Locations

  • Conventional methodologies (empirical, analytical, numerical, hybrid, etc.) for sizing photovoltaic (PV) systems cannot be used when the relevant meteorological data are not available. To overcome this situation, modern methods based on artificial intelligence techniques have been developed for sizing the PV systems. In the present study, the optimum PV/inverter sizing ratio for grid-connected PV systems with orientation due south and inclination angles of $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ in selected Algerian locations was determined in terms of total system output using type-2 fuzzy logic. Because measured data for the locations chosen were not available, a year of synthetic hourly meteorological data for each location generated by the PVSYST software was used in the simulation.

  • This paper proposes the variable wind generation system based on the direct torque control(DTC)for the interior permanent magnet synchronous generator. The proposed system can achieve the MPPT control without wind speed in addition to the speed and position sensorless control as well as the conventional current control method. The DTC has several advantages such as simply system configuration, ease of the flux weakening control and the sensorless control. The experimental results show the performance of the proposed wind generation system.

  • In this paper, a mew maximum power point tracker (MPPT) using Fuzzy Controller is proposed to improve energy conversion efficiency. Temperature compensation effect means that Photovoltaic voltage is change in condition irradiation, temperature and ect. Fuzzy algorithm is applied to control Boost MPPT converter by Temperature compensation effect. In this paper, temperature compensation range is $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}+100^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper studies the OF-LED(Optical Fiber-LED) illuminated display board system for energy saving. The OF-LED illuminated display board system has PV module, batteries, charge 8t discharge system and dynamic full color display controller. Both maximum power point tracker (MPPT) and constant current & constant voltage controls (CCVC) are used to govern the charging system. This system. improves the charging efficiency of battery. The system is compact and operates only by PV except the rainy days when the sun is unfavorable. in the system display control and charging-discharging control by on-chip microprocessor are simultaneously carried out. To verify the unposed system, me simulation and experiment results show the operating characteristics with a laboratory prototype.

  • This paper describes the performance of DC-DC converters for buoy such as buck, boost, and buck-boost. The operating characteristic and charging efficiency with battery, which has a considerable properties about converters with PV(photovoltaic) system, is analyzed in this paper. It is performed by using the MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracker) algorithm The basic equations of switching operation for converter are described, and the equations are analyzed with according to switch state. Whereas this analysis is directed toward the selection of converter for buoy, it also provides the insight into the behaviour of converter and performance of the proposed algorithm Finally, the suitable DC-DC converter is proposed for buoy, and the characteristic experiment is performed with the buck converter.
