Photovoltaic(PV) system has been studied and watched with keen interest due to a clean and renewable power source. But, the output power of PV system is not only unstable but uncontrollable, because the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of PV system is still hard with the tracking failure under the sudden fluctuation of irradiance. Authors suggest that the optimal voltage for MPPT be obtained by only solar cell temperature. Having an eye on that the optimal voltage point of solar cell is in proportion to its panel temperature, with operating the power converter whose operating point keeps its input voltage to the optimal voltage imagined by the surface's temperature of PV panel, the maximum power point becomes tenderly possible to be tracked. In order to confirm the availability of the proposed control scheme. And both control methods are simulated not only on the various angle of sampling time of switching control, but also with the real field weather condition. As the results of that, the conversion efficiency between PV panel and converter of the proposed control scheme was much better than that of the power comparison MPPT control, and what is better, the output voltage of PV panel was extremely in stable when the optimal voltage for MPPT is obtained by only solar cell temperature.
Techniques for mismatch loss minimization to increase the PV system efficiency are under development recently. In this paper, a method to make diagnosis of PV module mismatch is presented, which uses a concept of operating point factor. The method is based on the fact that the ratio of the incremental conductance of a PV module to instantaneous conductance is 1 when the module is operating at its maximum power point. The variations of module voltage and current are taking place by the maximum power point tracker in the power conditioning units of PV system. The effectiveness of the method is verified through an application to a real PV system.
In this paper, robust multi-level perturbation and observation (MLPO) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control are presented of the environmental change including the solar radiation and temperature. Because the maximum power point of the Photovoltaic (PV) is changing according to the solar radiation and temperature, the technology which traces the maximum power point in order to increase the power efficiency is recognized as the very important part. The general requirement for the MPPT is that system is simple, the cost is inexpensive, the PV tracking function and output change are small. Conventional perturbation and observation (PO) method is a simple system but there is the disadvantage that an efficiency of system becomes low. In addation, the incremental conductance (IC) control is required expensive CPU because of a large of calculations. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, the MLPO MPPT control using the method diversifying the step size according to the environment condition is presented. The validity of the MLPO method presenting from this paper is proved through analyzing the solar power generation output error at the steady state.

This paper presents a maximum power point tracking without a current sensor for a small scale photovoltaic power system. The small scale photovoltaic power systems are used in parallel, and so the cost and the reliability are strongly demanded. In the proposed inverter, the current is controlled with open loop, and then the power of photovoltaic array is calculated by the equation using the voltage of the photovoltaic array. Therefore, the system can obtain the power by detecting only the voltage of the photovoltaic array. As a result, we may obtain the performance of the MPPT with a current sensor as well as with a current sensor.
In this paper, a simple control method for two-stage utility grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning systems (PCS) is proposed. This approach enables maximum power point (MPP) tracking control with post-stage inverter current information instead of calculating solar array power, which significantly simplifies the controller and the sensor. Furthermore, there is no feedback loop in the pre-stage converter to control the solar array voltage or current because the MPP tracker drives the converter switch duty cycle. This simple PCS control strategy can reduce the cost and size, and can be utilized with a low cost digital processor. For verification of the proposed control strategy, a 2.5kW two-stage photovoltaic grid-connected PCS hardware which consists of a boost converter cascaded with a single-phase inverter was built and tested.
PV simulators are essential equipment for testing power conditioning systems (PCS) which are one of an important part in PV generator systems, for testing before shipment. High dynamic PV simulator is required since MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) test procedure has been established by EN50530 regulation recently. Most high quality PV simulator prevailed in the market is linear type which however has low efficiency. This paper proposes design guide lines for the power stage and LCL type filter cooperating with a switching mode PV simulator that shows high efficiency and very low power consumption. Proposed theory is verified by experiment.
The photovoltaic modules have each maximum power point, which depending on the intensity of sunlight, modules temperature and etc. Cuk converter is used to obtain the maximum charging power from photovoltaic modules to storage batteries. This paper proposed to a new tracking control method by detecting its current and voltage in photovoltaic power generation system controlled by microprocessor, in order to operate at the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) even if the sunlight and the temperature are varied.
A Small-size axial fan(SSAF) has widely been utilized to circulate a cooling air in a refrigerator, etc. Generally, the aerodynamic performance of SSAF is strongly dependent upon the depth between SSAF and bellmouth, and it includes axial, partially stalled, mostly stalled and radial flow regions according to the flow coefficient. In this study, four kinds of bellmouth depths were considered to analyze the aerodynamic performance of SSAF. As a bellmouth depth increases, a maximum flowrate decreases, but a maximum static pressure increases. Also, stall region includes an inflection point in all aerodynamic performance curves. Finally, a static pressure efficiency shows the maximum value of 37%.
